Detailed Description
Please refer to fig. 1 to 2, which are exploded perspective views of the separable mechanical keyboard of the present invention at different angles. The invention provides a separable mechanical keyboard 100, which comprises a first mechanical keyboard 1 and a second mechanical keyboard 2. Wherein the first mechanical keyboard 1 is detachably coupled to the second mechanical keyboard 2 to form a standard configuration keyboard. The standard configuration keyboard is meant to have a full numeric keypad, an alphanumeric keypad, a cursor manipulation area, a modifier keypad (e.g., Shift key, Alt key, Ctrl key, caps lock key), etc., e.g., in this embodiment, 87 word keys or 104 word keys arranged in a QWERTY layout. However, the present invention is not so limited, wherein the alphanumeric keypad may be configured differently for different languages.
The first mechanical keyboard 1 has a first functional keypad 1F, a first numeric keypad 1N and a first alpha keypad 1A. The second mechanical keyboard 2 has a second side 2S, and the second mechanical keyboard 2 is provided with a second connector 22. The second mechanical keyboard 2 of the present embodiment further has a cursor operation area 2C. When the first mechanical keyboard 1 is combined with the second mechanical keyboard 2, the first connector 12 is electrically connected to the second connector 22, so that the signal of the second mechanical keyboard 2 can be transmitted through the first connector 12 and the second connector 22 via the first mechanical keyboard 1. The first mechanical keyboard 1 and the second mechanical keyboard 2 do not increase the distance therebetween and do not affect the operation of the keyboards. When the first mechanical keyboard 1 is separated from the second mechanical keyboard 2, the first mechanical keyboard 1 can be used independently.
Referring to fig. 1 to 3, a first side 1S of the first mechanical keyboard 1 of the present embodiment is non-linear; the second side 2S of the second mechanical keyboard 2 is non-linear; the first side 1S is adjacent to the second side 2S. Wherein the bottom surface of the first mechanical keyboard 1 is provided with a first bearing area 11, the first bearing area 11 of the present embodiment is recessed inward along the bottom surface from the first side 1S, and the lower part of the first bearing area 11 is open, and the upper part thereof forms a bottom surface, the first connector is arranged in the first bearing area 11; the second mechanical keyboard 2 is provided with a second bearing area 21, the second bearing area 21 of the present embodiment is protruded from the second side edge 2S along the bottom surface, the second bearing area 21 has a top surface, and the second connector 22 is disposed on the second bearing area 21. The shape of the first bearing area 11 corresponds to the shape of the second bearing area 21, so that the second bearing area 21 can be placed into the first bearing area 11 from the lower opening of the first bearing area 11, the first bearing area 11 and the second bearing area 21 are connected with each other, and the bottom surface of the first bearing area 11 is attached to the top surface of the second bearing area 21.
As shown in fig. 2 to 3, the first connector 12 of the first mechanical keyboard 1 is adjacent to the first functional keypad 1F; the second connector 22 of the second mechanical keyboard 2 is adjacent to the second functional keypad 2F. The present embodiment takes advantage of the thicker location of the keyboard, i.e. near the function key area, and provides the first connector 12 and the second connector 22 for better space utilization. The first connector 12 and the second connector 22 are single pin spring connectors (Pogo pins) in this embodiment, and the single pin spring connectors are composed of pins, vacuum tubes and springs, and can connect the circuit board and the circuit board in a very small space. The advantages of the single pin spring connector include at least space saving and miniaturization of the product, no need for a female end socket, etc., and also a waterproof specification of the connector. In order to strengthen the fixing force after the first mechanical keyboard 1 and the second mechanical keyboard 2 are connected, the first side 1S of the first mechanical keyboard 1 and the second side 2S of the second mechanical keyboard 2 may be respectively provided with at least one fixing component 14, 24 fixed to each other. The securing assemblies 14, 24 may be, for example, magnets, snap assemblies, or the like. The magnets may be embedded in the first mechanical keyboard 1 and the second mechanical keyboard 2. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and may be a manual locking assembly for locking the first mechanical keyboard 1 and the second mechanical keyboard 2 to each other. The number of the fixing members is not limited to one pair, and may be one or more.
The first mechanical keyboard 1 of the present embodiment is provided with a connection wire (not numbered) for connecting to the notebook computer 200, however, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the first mechanical keyboard 1 may be provided with two USB connectors each, and one USB connector of the first mechanical keyboard 1 may be electrically connected to one USB connector of the second mechanical keyboard 2; the other USB connector of the first mechanical keyboard 1 may be connected to the notebook computer 200 through an external USB connection cable, or connected to the notebook computer 200 through a wireless transceiver (wireless dongle).
