Description

Fitting for sliding doors or sliding folding doors
Technical Field
The invention relates to an accessory for a sliding door or a sliding folding door, comprising a guide rail along which at least one runner guided on a track of the guide rail is movable, wherein at least one groove is provided on the guide rail, on which at least one stop for the runner is fixed.
Background
EP 2128366 a2 discloses an accessory for a piece of furniture, which accessory is fixed on a rail on which at least one sliding frame is movable. In order to hold such a carriage in the end position or to delimit the travel path, the stop is inserted into a groove of the rail by means of a projection and is fixed in the groove. The mounting of the fitting can thus be performed in a simple manner, but there is the problem that the groove weakens the rail. When the carriage hits the stop, forces are distributed from the stop to the rail, wherein problems can arise if large grooves weaken the rail.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a fitting for a sliding door or a sliding folding door, in which the guide rail is reinforced in the region of the stop.
This object is achieved by a fitting having the following features.
According to the invention, the fitting comprises a guide rail on which at least one groove is provided, on which a stop for the runner is fixed, wherein the stop is fixed on a cover which engages at least partially in the groove. The cover can thus be supported in a snug manner on the recess, and forces which are dissipated from the stop into the guide rail can also be introduced additionally by means of the cover. The material tension at the contact point between the stop and the guide rail is thus reduced, so that a stable support of the fitting on the guide rail is obtained.
The cover preferably completely covers the opening of the recess. This also prevents dust from being able to move through the openings to the rear of the guide rail. The cover may also have a projection in this case, which fills the recess in a substantially conforming manner. It is thus possible to generate a force which is introduced from the stop into the cover which is supported inside the groove, i.e. on the inner wall of the groove, in order to reinforce the groove region on the guide rail.
The cover preferably has an edge which rests on a rail around the recess. The edge may be placed on the side of the rail facing the furniture body, for example, while the projection of the cover projects towards the front side of the furniture.
The groove may be formed as an oblong hole. In such oblong holes, the length may be at least four times as long as its width. Such an oblong hole may for example be left-hand open for the drive of the self-retractor, so that it may slow down and hold the carriage in the end position by means of an actuator arranged on the carriage and acting as an engagement member engaging with the drive of the self-retractor. The length of the groove in the longitudinal extension is thus greater than the guide path of the driver. If such self-retractors are not installed, it may be advisable to introduce recesses for such drives into the rails as a precaution to reduce the variety of parts. A relatively large recess in the form of an oblong hole is then covered by means of a cover to stabilize the guide rail in the region of the recess. For this purpose, the cover may be carried by the web on one side of the oblong hole on a side of the rail (e.g. on the front side of the rail) and may be carried on the opposite side of the oblong hole on the opposite side of the rail (e.g. on the rear side of the rail).
The guide rail preferably consists of a bent steel plate having a thickness of less than 1.2mm, preferably less than 1 mm. The thickness of the steel plate may for example be in the range 0.6mm to 1mm, preferably 0.7mm to 0.9 mm.
For a stable fixing of the fitting, the fitting can be fixed in such a way that: the guide rail is fixed by being clamped between the stopper and the cover. The closure cap in this case may have an integrally formed fastener, for example a threaded sleeve or a receiving groove for a nut for securing the stop. The stop is preferably screwed together with the closure to apply a high clamping force. Alternatively, a fixed pin mechanical or other connection means may also be provided between the cover and the stop.
Further, it is alternatively possible to form the cover as part of the housing of the self-retractor with the movable drive accessible through the recess.

Detailed Description
A piece of cupboard furniture 1 comprises a furniture carcass with side walls 2 and an upper side 3, on which upper side 3 a guide rail 4 is fixed, which guide rail 4 is carried on the upper side 3 by means of an upper web 40. Two rails 5 for the running member fixed to the sliding door or the sliding folding door are provided on the guide rail 4, and the two rails 5 are arranged one above the other.
A recess 6 is provided in the guide rail 4 between the two rails 5, which recess 6 has the shape of an oblong hole and by means of which recess 6 the movable drive 7 is accessible. The movable drive 7 may engage with an actuator on the runner to decelerate the runner and move it to the end position during the closing movement. The end position is in this case defined by a stop 10, which is fixed on the guide rail 4.
In fig. 2, the rail 4 is shown before being mounted on the furniture body. On the recess 6 in the form of an oblong hole is mounted a housing 8 of a self-retractor with a guide path for a movable drive 7. The driver 7 is in this case coupled to at least one spring and a damper in order to decelerate and pull the runner into the end position during the closing movement. The driver 7 is movable in the area of the oblong hole, and an oblong opening 9 is arranged substantially in line with the recess 6 on the housing 8, wherein this opening 9 corresponds to a guide path for the driver 7.
In order to fix the stop piece 10, a passage opening 11 is formed in the stop piece 10, through which passage opening 11 a screw 12 is guided. The screw 12 engages in this case in a threaded sleeve 14, which threaded sleeve 14 is arranged on the housing 8. The stop element 10 can thus be screwed into the housing 8.
The housing 8 is in this case carried on the rear side of the guide rail 4 by means of an edge 15, wherein a web 16 is provided on one side in the extension of the edge 15, which web 16 can engage behind the groove 6 in a snug manner and rest on the front side of the guide rail 4, as shown in fig. 3. By screwing the stop 10 onto the housing 8, the guide rail 4 is fixed by being clamped between the stop 10 and the housing 8, wherein the housing 8 is supported by means of a web 16 on the front side of the guide rail 4. The guide rail 4 is thus reinforced by the housing 8 in the region of the recess 6, in particular when the runner strikes a contact surface 13 on the stop 10 and the force is thus transmitted from the stop 10 to the guide rail 4.
For this purpose, the screw 12 is guided through the passage opening 11 and the screw 12 is screwed into a threaded sleeve 14 arranged on the housing 8. Alternatively, the nut threads may be formed directly on the housing 8 or may be formed in the housing 8 by self-tapping screws. In these cases, the threaded sleeve 14 may be omitted.
The guide rail 4 is preferably composed of a curved steel plate, for example having a thickness of between 0.7mm and 0.9mm, and is produced in large quantities, so that optionally a self-retractor can be installed, as shown in the first exemplary embodiment in fig. 1 to 3. The recess 6 impairs the stability of the guide rail 4 if a piece of furniture is to be mounted without such a self-retractor. In order to avoid strength problems when forces act on the stop, in the second exemplary embodiment according to fig. 4 a cover 20 is provided, which cover 20 can be inserted into the groove 6 on the rail 4. The cover 20 has in this case a projection which engages in a substantially snug manner in the recess 6. On the narrow side of the cover 20, a web 22 is provided, which web 22 projects laterally and in a direction perpendicular thereto with respect to the bottom surface of the cover 20, wherein the bottom surface is understood to be the surface which bears on the rear side of the guide rail 4. The web 22 can engage behind the groove 6 in a snug manner and can be placed on the front side of the guide rail 4, i.e. the side facing the sliding door. The cover 20 furthermore has an edge 21, which edge 21 closes the U-shaped projection and is carried on the rear side of the guide rail 4, i.e. the side facing the furniture carcass. Further, an opening for a cylindrical screw 26 is provided in the cover 20, and a receiving groove for the nut 25 is formed.
If the rail 4 is to be mounted without a self-retractor, the cover 20 is therefore inserted into the recess 6 and the stop 17 is mounted on the cover 20. For this purpose, the stop 17 has an opening 18, which opening 18 is intended to receive the head of a cylindrical screw 26, as can be seen clearly in fig. 5, 6A and 6B. The stop 17 furthermore has two arms 19, which arms 19 serve to lock the projections on the runner. The cylindrical screw 26 passes through the stop piece 17 and the cover 20, wherein the nut 25 is held in a substantially snug manner in the receiving groove, so that the cylindrical screw 26 can simply be screwed into the nut 25 in order to fix the guide rail 4 by clamping between the stop piece 17 and the cover 20. The fastening and the filling of the recess 6 with the cover 20 reinforce the guide rail 4, so that the occurring locking forces can also be distributed in the guide rail 4.
Fig. 7 to 9B show further exemplary embodiments of the cover 20, which cover 20 is mounted on the groove 6 of the guide rail 4. As in the foregoing exemplary embodiment, a cylindrical screw 26 is provided, and this cylindrical screw 26 is inserted into the stopper 17 to fix the guide rail 4 by being sandwiched between the cover 20 and the stopper 17. However, the nut 25 is not provided in the cap 20 on the fastening portion 24 as in the foregoing exemplary embodiment, but a thread is formed or a threaded sleeve is inserted into the cap 20. The cylindrical screw 26 can thus be screwed directly into the thread on the closure cap 20. In addition, the shape of the cover and the stopper 17 corresponds to the aforementioned exemplary embodiment.
In fig. 10 to 12B, a modified fitting is shown, in which a cover 20' is mounted on the groove 6 of the rail 4. The cover 20' essentially corresponds to the cover 20 and has a web 22, which web 22 engages behind the groove 6 on the front side and rests on the guide rail 4. In this case, the U-shaped edge 21 bears on the rear side of the guide rail 4. On the side opposite the web 22, the cover 20 'has a fixing pin receiving groove 27 for fixing the stop piece 17'. The stop 17' has two arms 19 for locking the projections of the runner. Two resilient fixing pin webs 28 formed with undercut projections are provided at an angle (preferably at right angles) to the arm portions 19, the two fixing pin webs 28 being inserted into fixing pin receiving slots 29 of the lid 20 'to mount the stop 17', as shown in fig. 12B. During mounting, this undercut projection engages behind the rear side of the cover 20 ', whereby the guide rail 4 can be fixed in a substantially snug manner by locking the stop 17 ' on the cover 20 '.
Fig. 13 to 15B show further exemplary embodiments of the fitting, in which a cover 20 is mounted on the groove 6 of the guide rail 4. The stop member 17 is secured by means of a screw 29 having a self-tapping thread. The screw 29 is screwed into an opening 18 'in the stop member 17, the diameter of the opening 18' being smaller than the outer diameter of the screw 29. Furthermore, an opening 36 is provided in the cover 20, which opening 36 also has a smaller diameter than the thread of the screw 29, so that the turns of the thread of the screw 29 are screwed into the material of the cover 20. Fig. 15A and 15B show the installation position, in which the guide rail 4 is held by being clamped between the stop 17 and the cover 20.
Fig. 16 to 19 show further exemplary embodiments of a cover 20, which cover 20 is mounted on the groove 6 of the rail 4. The cover 20 is formed integrally with the stop 30 and can be inserted from the front onto the recess 6. Two webs 35 are provided on the rear side on the cover 20, which webs 35 engage in the groove 6 and ensure support of the cover 20 on the inner wall of the groove 6 by bearing on the longitudinal inner side of the groove 6. To fix the stop piece 30, a cylindrical screw 26 is inserted into an opening 31 of the stop piece 30, the cylindrical screw 26 passing through the stop piece 30 and the groove 6 and through an opening 33 of a plate 32 on the rear side of the guide rail 4 and being tightened together with a lock nut 34. The guide rail 4 is fixed by being clamped between the plate 32 and the stopper 30 by tightening the cylindrical screw 26 and the lock nut 34. Also in the present exemplary embodiment, the recess 6 is filled with the cover 20 in a substantially conforming manner.
The cover 20 may be arranged as a surface flush with the front side of the rail 4, so that an attractive appearance is also visually obtained by the mounting of the cover 20. The material of the cover 20 may be plastic, metal, or a combination of these materials. The cover 20 can furthermore also be formed in several parts, wherein for mounting purposes it is preferred that the cover 20 is integrally formed.
