Description

向柔性空容器充气的方法和容器设备
本发明涉及一种当设置在车辆内的容器受到强减速度时向柔性空容器内充气的方法,其中被充气的容器用作防止伤害的力吸收气垫。而且,本发明涉及一种用于车辆的容器设备,它包括一个柔性容器,当该容器设备受到强减速度时用气体充填容器,起防止伤害的力吸收气垫的作用。
众所周知,在汽车的乘客舱内设置有能鼓起柔性空容器(例如气袋)的装置,用于取代安全带,或较佳地作为安全带的辅助装置。当撞车时,有很大的减速度力作用到车辆和气袋装置上,气袋立即或极快地鼓起到司机或乘客面前,以避免司机或乘客受伤,否则,司机或乘客如果被甩到车辆的驾驶盘或仪表板上,就可能受伤。
但是已经发现,在气袋鼓起前,如果司机或乘客太靠近气袋,这种气袋也会导致伤害。在这种情况下,气袋膨胀时打击到司机或乘客身上的力可能很大,足以重伤甚至杀死司机或乘客。而且,如果儿童座椅在气袋鼓起前靠近这样一个气袋,气袋膨胀时打击到所述座椅上的力可能很大,足以重伤坐在所述座椅上的儿童。
DE-A-2501602公开了这样一种用于汽车的先前已知的气袋设备。该设备包括充有增压气体的第一贮气罐,当减速时,增压气体膨胀充填气袋,以及一个引爆腔,它包括一种工质,可燃烧以提高气袋充气期间膨胀气体的温度。在所述燃烧期间生成一氧化碳。所述气体含有一种惰性气体(如氩气、氦气或氖气)和少量氧气,使所述一氧化碳能转化成二氧化碳。

DE-A-2344517又公开了另一种先前已知的用于车辆的气袋,它设置成能在较低速度撞车时膨胀得稍慢些,而在较高速度撞车时膨胀得较快。为此,该已知的气袋包括两种不同的火药,分别用于两种膨胀情况。
本发明的目的是改善撞车时气袋对司机和乘客的安全性,并防止在气袋充气过程中的伤害。
采用下述首次界定的方法可以达到这个目的,它包括下列步骤:在第一步充气期间部分充填容器,传感一个反映容器尺寸的参数值,以及如果所述值满足预定条件,则在第二步充气期间继续充填该容器。用这样的方法可以探测到是否有物体或人在气袋的膨胀方向,倘若探测到有,就减小气袋的充填度。因此,采用根据本发明的方法,就可能避免由于在充气过程中气袋撞击这个物体或人造成的伤害。因此,如果所述值不满足所述预定条件,则不执行所述第二步充气。替代地,所述第二步充气可以包括放气,如果所述值不满足所述预定条件的话。
根据本发明的一个实施例,所述参数包括容器沿一个方向的长度,以及如果在第一步充气后所述长度超过预定值,则执行所述第二步充气。因此,当气袋在所述方向可以自由膨胀的条件下,即没有物体或人阻碍气袋的完全膨胀时,就有可能把气袋完全膨胀起来。因此,所述的一个方向与所述车辆的行进方向基本相反。
根据本发明的另一个实施例,所述参数包括容器内的压力,以及如果在第一步充气后所述压力低于预定压力值,则执行所述第二步充气。如果气袋的膨胀被一个物体或人阻碍,探测到的容器内压力就可能高于容器膨胀到其第一步充气期间自由尺寸时的压力。
根据本发明的另一个实施例,所述第一步充气包括用至少一种气体源部分地充填该容器。在这种情况下,第二步充气可能包括例如用另一种气体、引爆火药或两者的组合继续充填该容器。
根据本发明的另一个实施例,所述第一步充气包括用至少两种气体源部分地充填该容器,以及第二步充气包括用引爆这两种气体的方法来充填该容器。因此这两种气体可能在第一步充气期间在容器内混合。而且,所述两种气体可能至少包括氧气和氢气。引爆氢氧混合气导致容器在第二步充气期间强有力地迅速膨胀。而且,所述两种气体包括惰性成分,至少包括氩气、氦气和氮气之一。

图3和4表示了本发明的第二个实施例。需要说明,在所有的图示实施例中,具有相应功能的部件都用同一个参照序号。第二个实施例与第一个实施例的不同之处在于:柔性的线11和致动器12由测距器14取代。测距器14为已知类型,例如激光发射器、IR传感器等。测距器14测量从底座2至气袋1对侧内壁的距离,如虚线15所示。而且,在第二个实施例中,导管5和6相互会合形成公共的进气道16通到气袋1内部。
一旦检测到强减速度,立即有信号或脉冲送到***板9,启动第一步充气,把贮气罐3和4中的气体混合物充入气袋1的内部。如果气袋1的膨胀被物体或人13所阻碍,测距器14测得的距离15将不足以激活引爆器10,因此气袋1将不完全充满。如果没有物体或人阻碍气袋1的膨胀,距离15将超过某个预定值,测距器14将给出一个信号或脉冲激活引爆器10,导致气袋1内气体混合物的引爆,如同第一个实施例中那样。
根据第三个实施例,线11和致动器12,以及测距器14用设置于容器1中的压力传感器取代。第三个实施例也可以用图3和4说明,其中序号14指压力传感器。如果物体或人13阻碍了气袋1的膨胀,气袋1中的压力将高于气袋1可以膨胀到其第一步充气期间的全尺寸时的压力。因此,如果传感器14测得的压力高于某个预定值,则不产生信号激活引爆器10,而如果传感器14测得的压力低于所述预定值,则有信号送到引爆器,引爆气袋1内的气体混合物。
图3和4也可以说明本发明的第四个实施例。底座2可以包括放气阀17,它连接到控制器7,并设置成:如果在第一步充气期间检测到有阻碍者13,则在第二步充气期间把放气阀17打开。因此,利用打开放气阀17可以防止气袋1完全膨胀。
本发明不限于所公开的这些实施例,而是可以在附属的权利要求的范围内变化和修改。
例如,可以把测距器14设置在气袋1外,其中的测距器14例如可以是发光器件和光电管的形式,用来确定气袋1最远端的位置。
气袋1也可以用不同于上述的其它方法充填例如,第一步充气可以充入第一种气体或气体混合物,而第二步充气可以充入第二种气体或气体混合物。在这种情况不发生引爆。而且,也可以一个或两个充气步骤都用烟火方法,例如引爆第一和第二火药。也可以用这些技术的组合来充填气袋1,例如在第一步充气时用气体或气体混合物充填容器1,而在第二步充气时则引爆火药。
本发明不限于两步充气,而是第一和第二步充气中的每一步都可以包括一个或几个充气步骤。

Claims (15)

1.一种当设置在车辆内的容器受到强减速度时向车内设置的柔性空容器内充气的方法,其中被充气的容器用作防止伤害的力吸收气垫,所述方法包括:在第一步充气期间部分充填该容器,传感一个反映容器尺寸的参数值,该参数值系由于人或物***于容器膨胀所导致,其特征在于,在所述第一步充气期间,通过供应至少二种气体部分充填容器(1),以及,如果所述值满足预定条件,则在第二步充气期间通过引爆所述二种气体继续充填该容器,如果所述参数值表明有人或物***于容器膨胀区内,则不执行所述第二步充气。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其特征在于:所述参数包括容器沿一个方向的长度,以及如果在第一步充报导后所述长度超过预定值,则执行所述第二步充气。
