Abstract

本发明提供了一种压平由两块热塑料的板材制 成的拼接板的方法。把两塑料板已焊好的端头放在 压机的两块压板之间。把压板加热以使塑料的温度 提高到足够使塑料软化而破坏其分子排列结构。在 加热的情况下用足够的压力把压板压在一起直到把 板材压在一起得到具有基本上为单块板厚度的光滑 的连续的接头。最后,对压板进行冷却以使接合的板 材冷却。

Description

本发明涉及压平拼接的塑料板的接头的方法,更具体地涉及压平要做进一步加工的板之间的接头。
普通方法,如用热刀焊接把两块塑料板拼接起来会使接头处板的厚度不均匀。如用热刀焊工艺,两板的端部以搭接方式放在一起。然后用普通的热刀通过使拼起来的两端熔合在一起而得到一接头。然后,对熔接起来的板作进一步处理,例如把板切成条带用来捆扎商品。
热刀焊接工艺在接头处得到两块板之间的不平的接头。该不平的接头必须用手工用小刀刮或用机加工使其整平并把总的焊缝处厚度减小到预定的要求值以满足PSM规定的界限。
本发明打算克服或减小所述问题,还提供一些其它改进。
本发明的一个目的是提供一种改进的减小拼接的塑料板的焊合区的厚度并使该区弄平的方法。
本发明的另一个目的是用压平方法提供一种使塑料板接头处整平的方法。
本发明再一个目的是提供一种改进的弄平塑料板的接头而不需要用手工刮削该接头的方法。
本发明的一个特别目的提供一种改进的弄平塑料板这间的接头而在压平过程中并不破坏塑料的分子定向排列的方法。
简单地说,为实现本发明的上述目的,本发明提供了一种弄平焊起来的两板之间的接头的方法。把两板的焊接接头放在压机的两压板之间。把压板压热到足够使塑料板材软化而不破坏塑料的分子定向排列结构,然后在连续加热的情况下用足够压力把两压板压在一起,直到两板之间得到一弄平的连续的接头。在这方法中,接头区塑料板的厚度通过材料流动而从两倍板材厚度减小到约为单块板厚度。最后,冷却压板以便使拼接板冷却。
参照下面结合附图的说明,可以更好地明白本发明的结构和操作的组织和方式以及本发明的其它目的及优点,附图中类似的标号表示类似的元件,图中:
图1是按照本发明的方法制造一压平的接头时处于打开位置的压机的简化剖面图;
图2是按照本发明的方法制造一压平的接头时处于闭合位置的压机的简化剖面图;
图3是在压平接头前,一对板在搭接区剖开的放大的局剖透视图;
图4是在压平后,类似于图3的板的透视图,并在接头示出局部的剖面图。
虽然本发明可以有不同形式的实施例,但是只有一个特殊的实施例示于附图并给以详细说明,应该明白所公开的只是本发明原理的一个实例,而不能把本发明只限于此处所示和说明的内容。
如图1和图2所示,本发明一般用一压机20,它包括一对压板22,24,它们加热并压在一起,以便形成在两块板28,30之间的压平的焊缝或接头26。加热加压使得两板28、30之间有一个热成形的光滑的压平的接头表面32。
板28、30由可用于捆扎操作的适当材料(例如聚丙烯)制成。热塑性板用已知方法制造以便具有预定的分子方向,其中分子一般排列成相互平行,并沿带的纵向延伸。
板28、30的搭接端部34、36用适当的方法(例如用热刀焊接法或用摩擦焊)焊接在一起以便形成一焊缝38。搭接端部34,36提供了焊接表面或搭接区40,它具有两倍的厚度和一个第一长度,该长度由端部34,36的搭接量来决定。
可以用一台标准的廿吨C框架压机20来制造光滑与压平的接缝表面32和焊缝26。该压机20包括两块压板22,24。每块压板22,24带有一加热装置,用来加热两板28,30之间的焊缝表面和搭接区40。加热装置包括用适当的装置进行电加热的加热器42,44,和用来控制加热器42,44的温度的热电偶46。每块压板22,24还有一冷却装置,用来在压平接缝26后对板28,30和压平的接缝表面32进行冷却。冷却装置包括一对冷却管线48,50,用来通过用适当装置供入管线中的水和空气。
上面已一般地说明了制造成品的压平接缝表面32和接缝26所需要的装置,下面将详细说明按照本发明的方法。
开始,操作者把由两块板28,30制成的预焊接板的焊接表面40放在分开的压板22和24之间。焊接表面或搭接区40应该完全放在压板22,24之间,并近似地放在压板22,24的中央。在最佳实施例中,如果使用聚丙烯,对一英寸的焊缝长度,两板28,30相互搭接约四分之三英寸。
对加热器42,44通电,加热压板22,24。在压板22,24达到规定的温度后,合上压机20,压板22,24压在一起,如图2所示。上压板22一般与一板30的端部34的顶面相贴靠,而下压板24一般与另一板28的端部36的底面相贴靠。
设在压板22,24内的电热及控温的加热器42,44使板28,30的搭接区***。压板22,24把压力施加到***的材料上。随着板28,30材料***,和压板22,24连续地施加压力及热量,直接与压板22,24接触的***的材料向外流动,但是并不明显地破坏塑料的分子定向排列。随着材料向外流动,各板28,30的厚度逐渐减小,而接头区的长度增加。热量及压力一直施加到搭接区40。直到搭接区40的厚度从开始的两倍板的厚度(如图3所示)减小到约为单块板的厚度的最终状态(如图4所示)。当压平的接缝面32形成时,两板28,30沿着焊缝26基本被整体地压平。也就是说,顶板30的底面与底板28的顶面基本上成整体和压平。压板22,24施加的温度和压力必须维持一段足够的时间以把板28,30完全压在一起以便形成比较光滑的压平的接头表面32。但是,这段时间取决于板的厚度。
在加热周期完全后,断掉对加热器42,44的供电而停止加热,以便冷却压板22,24,该压板22,24又依次使光滑的压平的接缝表面32冷却。气/水混合物用适当的装置(未示出)送过冷却管线48,,50以便吸收加热器42,44和压板的热量。在冷却过程完成后,压板22,24仍保持压力。在一段预定时间后(该段时间取决于要移走的热量和板的厚度),卸压,打开压板22,24。如果光滑的压平的接头表面32没有冷却够,在靠近焊缝26处光滑的板会收缩,并产生皱折。随着卸压及打开压板22,24,把冷却水放走,但继续让空气吹过冷却管线48,50以便移去管线48,50中的残余水。把空气吹过冷却管线48,50可以减少在管线48,50中可能积累的钙,同时也使重新加热可以更快。一当上述过程完成,一个热成形的光滑的压平接头表面32和焊缝26就制成了。这样,接起来的板28,30就可以准备进行进一步的处理,例如切成条带用在捆扎作业中。
如图3和图4所示,并如上所述,用上述方法搭接区40的厚度从开始时两倍的板厚减小到约为单块板的厚度。因此不需要用手工刀子刮掉或用机械方法来减小成品焊缝的厚度。由于厚度的减小,焊缝的长度从开始长度(如图3所示)增加到约为原始长度的两倍(如图4所示)。这是由于在压板22,24施加压力及热量作用下,在焊接区40材料***的状态下发生材料的外流动而发生的。一部分材料也可以向外流出压板22,24的边缘外面。如果发生这种情况,把额外的毛边裁掉。
另外,由于原始的分子沿纵向排列一般能保持在成品板中,这方法能保证在板28,30之间有一个牢固的焊缝。开始,各板28,30的分子排列一般是沿纵向的。板28,30只加热到使焊接区40软化而不破坏分子排列的温度。如果破坏了分子定向排列,则分子排列方向变为无序,板的强度也变弱。这样,最终的接头就容易变脆或开裂。例如,如果用聚丙烯作板的材料,聚丙烯在166℃时开始熔化并失去其性能。因此,在上述本发明方法中,聚丙烯加热的最高温度为163℃。在板28,30用这个方法压平后,压平的接头表面32的塑料基本保持其原来的沿纵向的分子定向排列。这样,就保持了材料的高强度。
如果用聚丙烯作板的材料,加热器42,44应加热到温度范围为135℃到163℃。最好在157℃到163℃之间。压板压力调节到10吨到20吨,最高压力为约20吨。用压板22,24加热加压的时间在15到60秒之间,最好为60秒。但是应该明白这段时间取决于板的厚度。最终冷却温度应该在66℃到43℃。另外,这段时间取决于要移走的热量和板的厚度。
虽然上面示出和说明了本发明的一个最佳实施例,但是可以理解在本发明下面的权利要求书的精神和范围内,本专业技术人员可作出很多改型。本发明不应局限在上述的说明范围内。

Claims (10)

1、一种压平两块热塑性材料板的端部之间的接头的方法,所述的热塑性材料板具有预定的厚度及总的是平行的分子定向排列,所述的接头具有一第一长度及两倍的板材厚度,所述的方法包括:
对所述接头区域加热和加压,使热塑性材料软化,并使所述的热塑性材料产生流动,以便使所述的接头区的两倍板材厚度减小下来而长度增加,所述的加热不足以明显破坏热塑性材料的分子定向排列。
2、按照权利要求1的方法,其特征在于所述的接头由焊缝形成。
3、按照要求1的方法,其特征在于还包括在所述的两倍厚度已经减小后对所述的接头区进行冷却,同时保持对所述的接头区加压。
4、按照权利要求1的方法,其特征在于对所述的接头区加热是用电加热压机的压板到135℃-163℃。
5、按照权利要求1的方法,其特征在于对所述的接头区的加压是对压板施加10吨到20吨的压力。
6、按照权利要求1的方法,其特征在于对所述的接头区的加热和加压是对所述的压板加热及加压15秒到60秒的时间。
7、按照权利要求1的方法,其特征在于还包括在加热加压步骤后的一个冷却步骤,该冷却步骤包括使水及空气连续从压板中流过。
8、按照权利要求1的方法,其特征在于所述的板材是聚丙烯。
9、一种压平在两块塑性材料板之间的接头的方法,包括:
把两板材的邻近端部搭接起来提供材料的两倍厚度;
把板材的搭接端焊接起来,和
压平所述的搭接端部,因此把材料的两倍厚度减小到基本为单块板的厚度。
10、一种拼合的塑料板,包括:
有预定厚度的第一板和第二板;
在所述的第一板和第二板之间压平的接头;
所述的接着包括所述的第一板和第二板的搭接端部;
所述的端部开始具有第一预定长度;
在压平的接头中的端部长度增加并且厚度等于所述的预定厚度的一半。
