Description

Lighting and/or signalling device for a motor vehicle
Technical Field
The invention relates to a lighting and/or signalling device for a motor vehicle, comprising:
at least one light guide body with a light entry point, a guide section, an exit section and a light guide end, and at least one light source assigned to the at least one light guide body, which light source can feed light into the light guide body via the light entry point and a subsequent guide section, and wherein the light fed into the light guide body exits via the light exit region of the exit section by means of an exit element arranged in the exit section of the at least one light guide body,
at least one shading structure part with shading surfaces, wherein the shading structure part is arranged behind the light guide body in the region of the light entrance point and the guide section of the at least one light guide body in the direction of the light emitted by the at least one light guide body (in the following referred to as light exit direction),
a light sheet arranged behind the shading structure part in the light exit direction, the light sheet having a light entry point and at least one light source assigned to the light sheet, the light source being able to feed light via the light entry point of the light sheet, wherein the fed light exits substantially in the light exit direction via the light sheet, and wherein the arrangement of the light sheet with respect to the at least one light conductor effects the passing through of at least part of the light emitted by the at least one light conductor.
The invention further relates to a motor vehicle headlight comprising at least one lighting and/or signaling device according to the invention.
Background
Light conductors are often used in motor vehicle headlights, into which light from a light source, in particular an LED, is fed in order to be able to achieve a desired light distribution or light distribution and/or signaling function(s) with simple means.
The design and function of a typical motor vehicle headlight with a light guide is shown in particular in DE 102006035842 a 1. A vehicle light, in particular a side flashing light, is described as a possible embodiment, which comprises at least one longitudinally running light guide and has at least one region with a thinner cross section arranged laterally to the light guide, wherein the lateral region or regions are formed opaque completely or at least in predetermined sub-regions and thus serve as a light shield.
Furthermore, the prior art cited in the above-mentioned documents shows a light shield arranged in front of the light entry point of the light guide and the subsequent guide region in order to cover said region.
In particular, the guide section of the light guide is generally used to mix the light in order to achieve a uniform light emission from the visible region or light exit surface of the light guide, wherein the light does not exit from the guide section and therefore generally has no emission elements.
However, since the light emission surface of the light guide is not continuously limited by the downstream light shield, the luminous impression of the light guide emerges somewhat cut-off, which is in contrast to a uniform luminous impression.
A further disadvantage of such an arrangement and of the part or section of the light guide not being used for light distribution or luminous impression is the additional installation space required for this purpose.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved lighting and/or signaling device.
The object is achieved in that the shading surface has an at least partially light-transmitting shading section which is assigned to the at least one light guide and is arranged behind the at least one light guide in the light exit direction.
The contour shape of the partially light-transmitting light-shielding section can be formed by a curved line of simple geometry, for example a circle, triangle, quadrilateral, etc., but can also imitate a text symbol or a complex contour, for example in order to achieve a uniformly luminous icon.
It can also be provided that the light-shielding surface of the at least one light-shielding component is at least partially, light-transmitting, wherein the light-shielding surface has a wall thickness progression in the direction of the light entry region of the light sheet.
In this case, the light screening surface is a surface which is essentially provided to influence or attenuate the light exiting from the light guide with respect to its further propagation, preferably in the light exit direction of the light guide.
"at least partially light-transmitting" means that the light-blocking surface has a transmission of less than 1 and thus modulates or attenuates the light exiting from the light guide body in view of the transmission.
Thus, a completely opaque or opaque medium has a transmission equal to zero or substantially equal to zero.
In contrast, a medium that is not capable of varying the intensity of the transmitted light has a degree of transmission equal to or substantially equal to one.
The area of the obscuration plane can have a transmittance equal to one.
It can thus be provided, for example, that the light-blocking area has a type of transmittance progression.
It can also be provided that the entire light-shielding structural component is at least partially light-transmitting.
It should be noted that the above description can also apply to the light-shielding section in the definition of "at least partially light-transmitting".
It is advantageously provided that the wall thickness of the light screening surface increases in the direction of the light entry point of the light sheet.
Advantageously, the light shield section can have a wall thickness progression in the direction of the light guide end, wherein the wall thickness decreases in the direction of the light guide end.
It can also be provided that the light-shielding section has a wall thickness progression in the direction of the light guide end, wherein the wall thickness increases in the direction of the light guide end.
In this case, the wall thickness profile is generally adapted to the luminous intensity and shape of the light guide.
It can be expedient if the exit element is designed as a prism in the exit section of the at least one optical waveguide.
It can also be advantageous for the injection element to have a size and/or spacing progression in the injection section.
It is advantageously provided that an exit element is arranged in the guide section in order to achieve a targeted exit of the light fed in by the at least one light source at the side exiting the exit section.
Furthermore, it can be expedient for the injection element to be designed as a cylindrically formed recess in the guide section.
It can be advantageous if the size or dimension of the ejection element in the guide section increases along the light guide in the direction of the light guide end.
However, it is also possible for the size or dimension of the ejection element in the guide section to decrease along the light guide in the direction of the light guide end.
In an advantageous embodiment, it can be provided that the at least one light source of the at least one light conductor is configured as an LED.
Likewise, it can be expedient if at least one light source of the light sheet is designed as an LED.
In general, the at least one light source can be formed by one or more LEDs, which can be controllable independently of one another and dimmable.
Furthermore, this case also applies to the use of a plurality of light sources; if the light source is assigned only to the light conductor and/or the light sheet.
In a further embodiment, the device can comprise at least two optical conductors.
In this case, it is advantageous if the light-shielding surface of the at least one light-shielding component comprises two light-shielding sections, which are each associated with a light conductor.
Furthermore, it can be provided that the light guides can be actuated independently of one another.
Advantageously, the light sheet can have a scattering element for scattering or distributing the light injected by the at least one light source.
Suitably, the device comprises a housing with a housing cover.
It can be provided that the light sources associated with the at least one light conductor and the light sheet are at least two mutually different light sources.
Advantageously, the light sheet can have at least one at least partially light-transmitting light exit window.
It can also be provided that the housing cover has at least one at least partially light-transmissive light exit window.
Expediently, a cover film can be arranged behind the light sheet in the direction of light exit, wherein the cover film has opaque and at least partially light-transmissive regions. The partially light transmitting region in turn acts as a light exit window, as described above.
The lighting and/or signaling device of the subject matter of the invention can be provided for producing a flashing light distribution or flashing light function, a low beam distribution and/or a charge state display of a vehicle, in particular of an electric vehicle.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a lighting and/or signaling device 1 according to the invention in the form of a completed assembly.
Fig. 2 shows an exemplary embodiment of the device from fig. 1, comprising a light guide 100 with a light entry point 110, an exit section 130 and a light guide end 140 assigned to the light guide 100, and a light source 101 associated with the light guide 100, which light source can feed light into the light guide 100 via the light entry point 110 and a subsequent guide section 120 and is embodied in the example from fig. 2 as an LED, wherein the light fed into the light guide 100 exits via a light exit region by means of an exit element 131 arranged in the exit section 130 of the light guide 100.
In the example shown in the figures, the injection element 131 of the injection section 130 extends over the entire injection section 130 up to the light guide end 140 (as can be seen in fig. 6), wherein arrangements of the injection element 131 which do not extend over the entire injection section 130 are conceivable.
Furthermore, the exit element 131 of the exit section 130 can be designed as a prism, as can be seen in fig. 7.
Fig. 2 also shows a light disk 300, which is arranged downstream in the direction of the light emitted by the light guide (referred to below as the light exit direction, which is shown in particular in fig. 3 and 4), and which has a light entry point 310 and a light source 301, preferably in the form of an LED, which is associated with the light disk 300 and can feed light via the light entry point 310 of the light disk 300. The light fed in via the light entrance site 310 of the light disk 300 exits via the light disk 300, wherein the arrangement of the light disk 300 with respect to the light guide 100 effects at least partial penetration of the light emitted from the light guide 100, and a common light distribution or a common luminous impression is formed on the light disk 300 by the light generated and emitted from the light disk 300.
Furthermore, the light sheet 300 can comprise scattering elements 320, which are shown in fig. 4 and can be arranged, for example, on the rear side of the light sheet 300 in the light exit direction in order to distribute or scatter the light incident from the light source 301 in the light sheet 300 and to emit it in the light exit direction.
Furthermore, the light sheet 300 can have a light exit window 311 towards the light exit direction, which is at least partially light transmissive. This enables conversion of illuminated design elements, pictograms, icons and the like.
In order to realize such a light exit window 311, for example, a cover film can be arranged behind the light sheet 300 in the light exit direction. The cover film can preferably have an opaque and at least partially light-transmitting region, wherein the at least partially light-transmitting region is the aforementioned light exit window 311.
For example, the housing cover can also have a light exit window 311, wherein it can be provided that the light sheet 300 and the emitted light of the light guide 100 exit only through the light exit window 311.
The light exit window 311 can likewise be designed as a color filter in order to produce colored icons on the light sheet 300, which are lifted off from the light sheet in a figurative manner. Here, a pre-fabricated icon may be mounted on the optical sheet 300 in the form of a film.
It is noted that the above mentioned examples do not appear as closed embodiments in respect of said light exit window 311.
In order to create a uniform luminous impression of the shared light distribution, between light guide 100 and light sheet 300 is a shading structure 200 with shading surfaces 210, which are at least partially transparent and arranged in the region of light entry point 110 and guide section 120 of light guide 100.
The light screening surface 210 is a surface which is essentially provided to influence or reduce the further propagation of the light exiting from the light guide 100, preferably in the light exit direction of the light guide 100.
In the example shown in the figures, the entire light-blocking area 210 is formed partially light-transmitting, wherein this means that the light-blocking area 210 has a transmission of less than 1, which adjusts the amount of light leaving the light guide 100 or the guide section 120.
Furthermore, the light screen 210 has a light screen section 211 which is assigned to the light guide 100 and substantially covers or covers the light guide, wherein the light screen section 211 is likewise partially light-transmissive.
As can be seen in fig. 2, the light screening area extends in the direction of the light entry point 310 of the light sheet 300 and has a wall thickness progression in the direction of the light entry point 310 of the light sheet 300, which is shown by way of example in fig. 5.
In general, the light screening surface 210 covers the light entry region 110 of the light guide 100 and extends in the direction of the light entry region 310 of the light sheet 300, wherein the light screening surface 210 does not have to extend completely up to the light entry region 310 of the light sheet 300.
Since a common, homogeneous luminous impression of the entire light sheet 300 is sought, the light entry points 110, 310 and their arrangement with one another represent particularly critical regions. In the absence of additional light formation, that is to say in the absence of targeted weakening of at least one of the regions or points by the light-shielding structural component 200, the luminous impression of the light sheet 300 has bright or shiny regions or points.
By means of the at least partially, at least partially light-transmitting shading surface 210 and its increasing course of the wall thickness in the direction of the light entry point 310 of the light sheet 300 (as shown in fig. 5), a smooth transition of the brightness gradient of the light guide 100 passing through the light sheet and of the light exiting through the light entry point 310 of the light sheet 300 and distributed in the light sheet 300, which gradient appears on the light sheet 300, is produced, so that the luminous impression of the light sheet 300 appears uniformly.
Fig. 5 shows a cross-sectional view of the shading structure 200, showing the different wall thicknesses of the shading surfaces 210, which are denoted by d0、d1And d2Wherein an exemplary course of the wall thickness in the direction of the light entry site 310 of the light sheet 300 from fig. 5 can be represented by d0≤d1<d2To express.
For an improved homogenization of the luminous impression of the light disk 300, the light-shielding section 211 can also have a wall thickness progression.
Depending on the configuration of the light guide 100 in the region of the light entry point 110 and the guide section 120 with respect to the desired light exit direction, the wall thickness of the light shielding section 211 can be increased or decreased toward the light guide end 140.
If the light exit direction from the curved guide section 120 runs substantially parallel to the desired light exit direction of the exit section 130 of the light guide 100 (as shown in fig. 2), it can be recommended that the course of the wall thickness of the light shield section 211 is designed to decrease gradually in the direction of the light guide end 140.
In the case of a light exit direction of the light entry region 110, which extends substantially perpendicularly to the desired light exit direction of the exit section 130 of the light guide 100, a wall thickness progression of the light blocking section 211, which increases in the direction of the light guide end 140, can be desirable.
In principle, the wall thickness or the course of the wall thickness of the light screen 210 is adapted to the respective light intensity of the light guide 100 and the light sheet 300 used and the respective light source 101, 301.
For the targeted exit of light from the guide section 120, an exit element 121 can be arranged in the guide section 120, as shown in fig. 6 and 7.
Since the guide section of the light conductor is generally responsible for the mixing of the fed light, the emission element 121 is implemented in the guide section 120 of the light conductor 100 in such a way that, although the light is emitted in a targeted manner in the guide section 120, the mixing of the light is not significantly affected, so that the light prepared for the emission section 130 in the sense of mixing is not substantially subjected to significant losses or changes.
For this purpose, the exit elements 121 of the guide section 120 are designed in the form of cylindrical recesses, since such a shape has a less strongly directed emission characteristic than prisms, which are usually used for the exit of light, for example, which are arranged in the exit section 130 of the light guide 100, as is shown in fig. 7.
If the injection elements 121 are arranged in the guide section 120 only at short sections along the guide section 120, the distances between the individual injection elements 121 and their sizes or the radii of the cylindrical recesses can be identical.
The distance between the individual exit elements 121 of the guide region can in this case be selected such that it corresponds to the distance between the individual exit elements 131 of the exit section 130, for example prisms.
In the case of the light emerging via a longer section or region of the guide section 120, the size and/or radius of the cylindrical recess 121 and the depth of the recess 121 can be implemented in the guide section 120 so as to extend gradually, wherein the dimensions, such as size, spacing between the individual recesses, radius and/or depth of the cylindrical recess, are implemented so as to increase or decrease gradually along the light guide 100 in the direction of the light guide end 140.
Furthermore, the device can comprise a housing 10 with a housing cover 20, which comprises the light guide 100, the light sheet 300, the light sources 101, 301 and the light-shielding components, and which is shown, for example, in fig. 1 and 2.
At the side of the exemplary embodiment shown in the figures, which is remote from the device 1 with the light guide 100, two light guides 100 can also be provided, wherein the light screen 210 can have a further light screen section 211 for this purpose.
Furthermore, the light guides 100 can be controllable independently of one another.
