Description

Device for mechanically holding a wire bundle
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of electrical connections, and more particularly to the field of draw-out connectors intended to be connected to a junction box.
Background
It is known to use draw-out connectors intended to electrically connect a set of wires and one or more connection terminals to an electrical circuit. It is also known to input identification information on a withdrawable connector in the form of at least one indicator provided on one outer surface of the connector. Indicators are usually provided on the longitudinal flat surfaces of the connectors, which indicators are located at the rear of the connectors with respect to the operator in the usual configurations in which these connectors are used; the indicator is thus most often obscured by the connector itself and/or by a wire bundle connected to the connector. Furthermore, it is necessary to fix all the wires connected to the connector in question.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention is therefore directed to solutions to these problems.
To this end, the invention relates to a device for mechanically retaining a wire bundle intended to be connected to a connector, comprising:
a first face and a second face opposite the first face,
-a first fixation arranged to hold the wire bundle against the first face,
-a second fixation portion on the second face arranged to fix the indicator,
-a third fixation portion arranged to fix the connector against the first face.
Due to these provisions, the indicator is not obscured by the wires connected to the connecting device, while the wires remain behind the connecting device with the indicator in front.
According to one aspect of the invention, the connector is withdrawable and intended to be connected to a junction box.
According to one aspect of the invention, the body of the device is made of an insulating material.
According to one aspect of the invention, the third fixing portion comprises at least one cavity arranged in the first face and at least one fixing element arranged on the second face, which fixing element cooperates with at least one complementary fixing element on the indicator.
According to one aspect of the invention, the at least one fixing element comprises at least one through hole opening into the at least one cavity, thereby forming an abutment area.
According to one aspect of the invention, the through-hole opens into the bottom of the cavity.
According to one aspect of the invention, the cavity is configured to at least partially receive an extension of the at least one complementary fixation element.
According to one aspect of the invention, the complementary fixing element comprises a bearing portion which abuts against the abutment region.
According to one aspect of the invention, the distance between the abutment region and the surface of the first face corresponds to at least 50% of the dimension of the extension of the complementary fixation element comprised between the support and the end of the extension.
According to one aspect of the invention, the cavity is configured to fully receive the extension.
According to one aspect of the invention, the distance between the abutment region and the surface of the first face is greater than the dimension of the extension of the complementary fixing element comprised between the support and the end of the extension.
Thanks to these arrangements, at least one fixing element of the indicator is protected by the cavity against the pressure of the object, in particular of the wiring harness, optionally pressing against the first face of the device.
According to one aspect of the invention, the first fixation portion is located at a portion of the device between the first narrowed region and the second narrowed region.
Due to these provisions, the flexible ring surrounding the device and the wire harness will be held within the first fixing portion.

Detailed Description
Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the mechanical holding device 1 according to the invention.
The device is preferably made of an insulating and flexible material, having a flat and elongated rectangular parallelepiped shape with two main faces 2, 3 opposite each other.
In the length direction of the device, three main parts can be distinguished, each having a defined fixing function.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 2, the first fixing part comprises two parts which, independently of each other, can perform the function of mechanically holding the wire bundle against one face 2 of the device.
The first part of the first fixing part comprises two through holes (4d, 4c) between the two faces of the device, within which holes slightly smaller rings 12 can be screwed to surround and mechanically hold the wire bundle connected to the connector against one face 2 of the device. This first hold mode is not shown in fig. 1.
The second part of the first fixed part is located between the first narrowing region 4a and the second narrowing region 4b of the rectangular parallelepiped width. Each of these narrowing regions 4a, 4b forms a shoulder on the edge on both sides of the device in the width direction; as shown in fig. 1, a ring 12 may be located between the shoulders to enclose the wire bundle connected to the connector and the portion of the device and mechanically hold the wire bundle against a face 2 of the device; the two shoulders prevent in particular the ring 12 from sliding beyond the part of the device comprised between the two shoulders 4a, 4 b.
It should be noted that nothing prevents the use of the two parts of the first fixing part in combination, if necessary, using a first circular ring 12 in two holes passing through the first part and a second circular ring 12 located between the shoulders defining the second part, to hold the bundle of wires connected to the connector against one face 2 of the device and thus to fix all the wires together and to the mechanical holding device.
In the embodiment of the mechanical holding device shown in fig. 2, the second fixing portion 5 is placed below the first fixing portion. This second fixed part is defined by a recess hollowed out in the thickness of the device on each of its faces 2, 3; the recess forming a rectangular cavity on each face 2, 3; two through holes or slots 5a, 5b forming an opening between the bottom of one cavity and the bottom of the other, these slots being positioned at the ends of the length of the cavities; these through holes or bores are complementary to the two extensions 7a, 7b of the indicator 7 and allow the indicator 7 to be fixed or clamped against the face of the device opposite to the face where the wires are mechanically held by the first fixing portion and also against the face opposite to the face where the connector is held by the third fixing portion, as will be pointed out below. The visibility of the indicator is thus guaranteed. The indicator 7 also preferably has a shape complementary to the shape of the cavity in which it is adapted. It should be noted, however, that according to another embodiment of the invention, the second fixed part may comprise only one cavity 11 on the face 2, with a through hole or slot being formed between the face 3 without the recess and the bottom of the cavity 11. In this case, the indicator is added to the face 3 without fitting into the cavity.
Fig. 4 shows in perspective a first face 2 of the device, which is opposite to the face of the addition indicator 7. The surface 2 in the cavity 11 of the device is opened by means of slots or holes 5a and 5b, forming an abutment area at the bottom of the cavity. The extensions 7a, 7b of the indicator 7 are arranged to fit into complementary slots or holes 5a and 5b and open at the bottom of the cavity. When the indicator comes into abutment against the face opposite the cavity 11, a portion of each extension bears on the abutment area formed at the outlet of the hole or slot traversed by the extension in question, while the complementary portion of the extension extends beyond. The dimensions of the complementary portions included between the support and the ends of the extensions may be smaller than the depth of the cavity 11, so that the extensions do not protrude beyond the volume defined by the cavity. These extensions are therefore protected by the cavity of pressure that may be caused by external objects pressing on this face of the device and in particular by the wiring harness remaining against this face of the device, said pressure pushing the extensions back from the respective housings. Given that these extensions 5a and 5b will protrude beyond the volume defined by the cavity, they will still not be pushed back enough to be removed from their housing, since the edges of the cavity prevent pressure from being applied to the bottom of the cavity of the extensions 5a and 5 b. Preferably, the dimensions of the extension will be chosen such that the distance between the abutment area formed at the exit of the through hole of the bottom of the cavity and the surface of the first face, in other words the depth of the cavity 11, is at least equal to 50% of the dimensions of the extension comprised between the support and the end of the extension.
The last third fixing portion of the holding device is described with reference to fig. 4 and 5. This fixing is formed on the face 2 of the device shown in fig. 4 and all wires are also held against it. The two extensions are formed at the base of the device and are oriented in a plane parallel to the face 2 of the device, slightly offset in the thickness direction of the device with respect to the plane of this face 2 of the device. As shown in fig. 5, these extensions are arranged to cooperate with two complementary holes 13 formed on the surface of the connector on which the device is fixed.
