Abstract

本发明涉及一种柔性显示面板。该柔性显示面板包括:有效显示区,外引脚贴合区域,以及用于驱动有效显示区的多颗相互之间功能互补以实现完整驱动功能的驱动芯片;所述有效显示区及外引脚贴合区域制作于同一柔性有机基板上,所述多颗驱动芯片靠近有效显示区绑定于外引脚贴合区域,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上按照需求任意分布。本发明的柔性显示面板避免了驱动芯片限制柔性显示面板弯折范围,同时满足柔性显示面板的显示功能和柔性折叠功能。

Description

柔性显示面板
技术领域
本发明涉及显示技术领域,尤其涉及一种柔性显示面板。
背景技术
有机发光二极管(OLED)显示器件由于其色域广、对比度高、固态器件等诸多优秀的特性,最近几年得到长足的发展,在显示领域越来越有竞争力。OLED的先天优势是固态器件,使得OLED在柔性显示领域有着固有的优势。考虑到显示应用方向正在从方方正正的手机往新颖各异的形态发展,柔性显示正越来越受到重视和成为开发重点。
实现柔性重要的地方是如何实现线路或器件在弯折后仍能保持好的特性,一般可行的方法比如采用可弯折的材料比如有机半导体,或者氧化物半导体等;另一个方向是采用抗柔性的介质和金属材料。
柔性显示除了有效显示区(AA)能够弯折外,外引脚贴合(OLB)区域也需要能够弯曲,才是完整的柔性显示。目前AA区以及OLB区域,为了实现柔性显示,基板一般为厚度十几到几十微米的柔性有机基板,基本上都采用聚亚酰胺(PI)基板,这样能够很好的实现基板的弯折;而OLB区域如果采用的是覆晶塑料(COP,chip on PI)的绑定方式,由于驱动芯片(driver IC)是长条形、刚性的硅基底的器件,会极大的限制OLB区域的弯折,从而限制完全的柔性显示。
如图1所示,其为现有柔性显示面板的结构示意图,出现在现有的例如三星S7edge等产品上。现有的柔性显示面板主要包括有效显示区1,外引脚贴合区域2,外接电路3,以及用于驱动有效显示区1的一颗长的驱动芯片4,有效显示区1及外引脚贴合区域2制作于同一柔性有机基板上,以使有效显示区1及外引脚贴合区域2都能够弯曲,驱动芯片4靠近有效显示区1以COP方式绑定于外引脚贴合区域2,外接电路3绑定至外引脚贴合区域2,外接电路3用于连接外部信号,可以为柔性印刷线路板(FPC)。现有的驱动芯片4的功能一般包括数据驱动以及扫描驱动,通过单独一颗驱动芯片4连接有效显示区1内的数据线(data line)和扫描线等来实现驱动有效显示区1所需的全部驱动功能,驱动芯片4的尺寸根据功能和分辨率有比较大的差异,但基本上与有效显示区1的相近边平行放置,驱动芯片4一般距离有效显示区1在几个毫米左右,这样有效显示区1纵向弯折时受到驱动芯片4宽度的限制,驱动芯片4的尺寸限制了柔性显示面板弯折的大小和幅度,无法实现大范围的弯折,只能实现边缘区域的弯折,限制了柔性显示应用。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的在于提供一种柔性显示面板,解决驱动芯片限制柔性显示面板弯折范围的问题。
为实现上述目的,本发明提供了一种柔性显示面板,包括:有效显示区,外引脚贴合区域,以及用于驱动有效显示区的多颗相互之间功能互补以实现完整驱动功能的驱动芯片;所述有效显示区及外引脚贴合区域制作于同一柔性有机基板上,所述多颗驱动芯片靠近有效显示区绑定于外引脚贴合区域,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上按照需求任意分布。
其中,所述多颗驱动芯片以COP方式或COF方式绑定于外引脚贴合区域。
其中,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上间隔分布。
其中,单颗所述驱动芯片为功能完整的芯片,或者单颗所述驱动芯片为功能不完整需要其他驱动芯片配合的芯片。
其中,单颗所述驱动芯片为集成多个功能的芯片。
其中,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上的分布位置与有效显示区中数据线的阻抗相匹配。
其中,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上相对有效显示区的相近边呈平行一列分布。
其中,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上相对有效显示区的相近边呈平行两列分布,且所述两列驱动芯片上下位置错开。
其中,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上相对有效显示区的相近边呈弧形分布。
其中,还包括外接电路,所述外接电路绑定至外引脚贴合区域。
综上,本发明的柔性显示面板避免了驱动芯片限制柔性显示面板弯折范围,同时满足柔性显示面板的显示功能和柔性折叠功能。

具体实施方式
参见图2,其为本发明柔性显示面板第一较佳实施例的结构示意图。本发明的柔性显示面板主要包括:有效显示区1,外引脚贴合区域2,外接电路3,用于连接外部信号的外接电路3绑定(bonding)至外引脚贴合区域2,以及用于驱动有效显示区1的多颗相互之间功能互补以实现完整驱动功能的驱动芯片41;有效显示区1及外引脚贴合区域2制作于同一柔性有机基板上,可以为PI基板,以使有效显示区1及外引脚贴合区域2都能够弯曲,实现柔性显示;多颗驱动芯片41靠近有效显示区1以COP方式绑定于外引脚贴合区域2,所述多颗驱动芯片41在外引脚贴合区域2上可以按照需求任意分布,如图2所示多颗驱动芯片41在外引脚贴合区域2上相对有效显示区1的相近边呈平行一列分布。与现有技术相比,本发明将一颗驱动芯片拆分成多颗功能互补的驱动芯片41,它们的排布方式可以如图2的方式并成一列排布,由于单颗驱动芯片41尺寸很小,纵向弯折基本不受限制,从而实现接近于完美全柔性显示。
在此实施例中,驱动芯片41具体采用了COP方式绑定于外引脚贴合区域2,也可以采用COF(覆晶薄膜)方式或其他的方式将驱动芯片41绑定至外引脚贴合区域2。
本发明将现有技术中的驱动芯片分拆成小尺寸的芯片,可以包括功能的分拆。本发明将现有技术中一个长的驱动芯片分拆成多个小尺寸的芯片,实现与原有驱动芯片相同的功能,从而可以实现显示功能和柔性折叠同时满足。
参见图3,其为本发明柔性显示面板第二较佳实施例的结构示意图。本发明的柔性显示面板主要包括:有效显示区1,外引脚贴合区域2,外接电路3,外接电路3绑定至外引脚贴合区域2,以及用于驱动有效显示区1的多颗相互之间功能互补以实现完整驱动功能的驱动芯片42。多颗驱动芯片42在外引脚贴合区域2上相对有效显示区1的相近边呈弧形分布,分布位置与有效显示区1中数据线的阻抗相匹配。
本发明的多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上间隔分布。小的驱动芯片的分布随意,可根据需要任意放置;每颗驱动芯片之间有一定距离,以实现柔性的弯折,但距离不限。分布式驱动芯片的好处不仅仅是好的柔性显示,更重要的是功能分散,排布和布局(layout)方式更灵活,可以更好的实现信号之间的阻抗匹配;如图3,不同位置的驱动芯片42距离有效显示区1不同,可以更精准的匹配数据线阻抗,使得数据线之间的阻抗差异跟小,显示更均匀。
图4为本发明柔性显示面板第三较佳实施例的结构示意图。本发明的柔性显示面板主要包括:有效显示区1,外引脚贴合区域2,外接电路3,外接电路3绑定至外引脚贴合区域2,以及用于驱动有效显示区1的多颗相互之间功能互补以实现完整驱动功能的驱动芯片43。多颗驱动芯片43在外引脚贴合区域2上相对有效显示区1的相近边呈平行两列分布,且两列驱动芯片43上下位置错开。
本发明中,单颗芯片的分布不仅限于规则形状或分布,而是可以根据需要任意分布。本发明将现有技术中完整的驱动芯片拆分成多颗尺寸较小的芯片,单颗芯片功能可以是完整的功能块或不完整需要其他小芯片配合,或者集成多个功能的小芯片。也就是说,本发明中单颗驱动芯片可以为功能完整的芯片,也可以为功能不完整需要其他驱动芯片配合的芯片,或者为集成多个功能的芯片。现有技术中所采用的完整的驱动芯片一般包括栅极阵列(GOA)和数据(data)驱动,功能更强的可以有触控驱动等功能;本发明所采用的小尺寸的芯片可以包含范围更广的功能,例如可以包含GOA,数据,触控,功率芯片(power IC),亮度不均补偿(demura)/电压降(IR drop)补偿,子像素渲染(SPR),或高宽带存储(HBM)/高动态范围(HDR)等功能,或这些功能的组合;也就是本发明可以把现有技术中完整芯片的功能进行分拆,也可以增加现有芯片可能没有的功能,比如功率芯片(现在一般是和驱动芯片分开),本发明中也可以通过小尺寸的芯片实现功率芯片的功能。
综上,本发明的柔性显示面板避免了驱动芯片限制柔性显示面板弯折范围,同时满足柔性显示面板的显示功能和柔性折叠功能。
以上所述,对于本领域的普通技术人员来说,可以根据本发明的技术方案和技术构思作出其他各种相应的改变和变形,而所有这些改变和变形都应属于本发明后附的权利要求的保护范围。

Claims (10)

1.一种柔性显示面板,其特征在于,包括:有效显示区,外引脚贴合区域,以及用于驱动有效显示区的多颗相互之间功能互补以实现完整驱动功能的驱动芯片;所述有效显示区及外引脚贴合区域制作于同一柔性有机基板上,所述多颗驱动芯片靠近有效显示区绑定于外引脚贴合区域,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上按照需求任意分布。
2.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,所述多颗驱动芯片以COP方式或COF方式绑定于外引脚贴合区域。
3.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上间隔分布。
4.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,单颗所述驱动芯片为功能完整的芯片,或者单颗所述驱动芯片为功能不完整需要其他驱动芯片配合的芯片。
5.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,单颗所述驱动芯片为集成多个功能的芯片。
6.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上的分布位置与有效显示区中数据线的阻抗相匹配。
7.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上相对有效显示区的相近边呈平行一列分布。
8.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上相对有效显示区的相近边呈平行两列分布,且所述两列驱动芯片上下位置错开。
9.如权利要求1所述的柔性显示面板,其特征在于,所述多颗驱动芯片在外引脚贴合区域上相对有效显示区的相近边呈弧形分布。
