The technical scheme of the invention has the following beneficial effects:
in the method for automatically switching the terminal, the base station sends a measurement configuration message for automatic switching preparation to the terminal and detects an acquired measurement report for the automatic switching preparation sent by the terminal; when the terminal is determined to support the automatic switching function according to the measurement report prepared for automatic switching, sending an automatic switching request to a target base station needing automatic switching preparation; wherein the measurement configuration message prepared for automatic handover includes a measurement object configuration and a measurement report condition configuration prepared for automatic handover. In this way, the source base station initiates the automatic handover request to the target base station only when determining that the terminal supports the automatic handover function and receives the measurement report for the automatic handover preparation sent by the terminal, so that the time for initiating the handover preparation is effectively determined, and the problem of increasing the signaling overhead of X2 caused by the invalid handover preparation of the source base station is avoided.

In order to make the technical problems, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention more apparent, the following detailed description is given with reference to the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.
First embodiment
Referring to fig. 1, a method for automatically switching a terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention is applied to a base station, and includes:
step 101, sending a measurement configuration message for automatic switching preparation to a terminal, and detecting an acquired measurement report for automatic switching preparation sent by the terminal.
Here, the source base station transmits a measurement configuration message prepared for automatic handover to the terminal, wherein the measurement configuration message prepared for automatic handover includes a measurement object configuration and a measurement report condition configuration prepared for automatic handover. And the terminal performs channel measurement according to the measurement configuration message prepared for automatic switching, and sends a measurement report to the source base station when the measurement meets the measurement report condition prepared for automatic switching. In practical applications, the base station may perform measurement configuration for the terminal prepared for automatic handover under certain conditions, for example, when the terminal measures that the serving cell signal quality is lower than a certain threshold, or when the automatic handover function of the terminal is activated.
And 102, sending an automatic switching request to a target base station needing automatic switching preparation when the terminal is determined to support the automatic switching function according to the measurement report aiming at the automatic switching preparation.
Here, when the source base station receives a measurement report for automatic handover preparation and determines that the terminal supports the automatic handover function, it transmits an automatic handover request to a target base station that requires the automatic handover preparation.
According to the method for automatically switching the terminal, provided by the embodiment of the invention, the source base station initiates the automatic switching request to the target base station when the source base station determines that the terminal supports the automatic switching function and receives the measurement report which is sent by the terminal and aims at the automatic switching preparation, so that the time for initiating the switching preparation is effectively determined, and the problem of increasing X2 signaling overhead caused by invalid switching preparation of the source base station is avoided.
Optionally, in a specific implementation, the measurement event in the measurement report condition configuration prepared for automatic switching may be one of events a2-1, A3-1, a4, and a5.
It should be noted that the measurement report condition for the automatic handover preparation should be looser or the same as the condition for triggering the terminal automatic handover, that is, the measurement report condition for the automatic handover preparation sent by the terminal should be satisfied before the condition for triggering the terminal automatic handover, which can ensure that the terminal can complete the handover preparation before performing the automatic handover, thereby successfully completing the handover, and avoiding unnecessary handover delay (i.e., delay for the target base station to actively request the source base station to acquire the terminal context information) introduced by lack of the terminal context information at the target base station when the terminal accesses the target base station.
For example, because the A2-1 event is more lenient than the A3-1 event condition, the measurement event in the measurement report condition configuration prepared for automatic handover may be configured as A2-1, i.e., before the A3-1 event that triggers terminal automatic handover; alternatively, the measurement event in the configuration of the measurement report condition prepared for automatic handover may be configured as a3-1, but the configuration of the measurement report condition prepared for automatic handover is more relaxed than the condition triggering automatic handover of the terminal, for example, the relative threshold for neighbor cell signal strength to be higher than the serving cell signal strength is configured to be lower (i.e., lower offset value) or a shorter hysteresis time value is configured.
Optionally, in step 102, the step of sending an automatic handover request to a target base station that needs automatic handover preparation includes:
step 1021, selecting the base station supporting the automatic switching function as the target base station needing the automatic switching preparation.
Here, the source base station may select a base station supporting an automatic handover function as a target base station requiring an automatic handover preparation to ensure efficient progress of the automatic handover.
Step 1022, sending an automatic handover request to the target base station requiring automatic handover preparation; wherein, the automatic switching request includes the context information of the terminal.
Here, the source base station transmits an automatic handover request to the target base station requiring preparation for automatic handover, for example, a base station supporting an automatic handover function among base stations belonging to neighboring cells is selected as the target base station requiring preparation for automatic handover for the terminal, and the automatic handover request includes context information of the terminal. The target base station can reserve special resources for the terminal after receiving the automatic switching request, or does not reserve any special resources for the terminal, and then sends an automatic switching request response to the source base station, which is different from the traditional switching that the automatic switching request does not carry a switching command.
Optionally, in step 102, the step of sending an automatic handover request to a target base station that needs automatic handover preparation includes:
step 1023, selecting the target base station requiring automatic handover preparation according to the cell meeting the measurement report condition of automatic handover preparation indicated in the measurement report of automatic handover preparation, and sending an automatic handover request to the target base station requiring automatic handover preparation.
In the existing scheme, the target base station sending the automatic handover preparation request is one or more preset base stations, and is the same for each terminal. In the embodiment of the present invention, through step 1023, the source base station may flexibly select different target base stations for different terminals according to the measurement report prepared for automatic handover.
Further, the step 1023 includes:
selecting the base station to which the cell meeting the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation indicated in the measurement report of the automatic handover preparation belongs as the target base station requiring the automatic handover preparation; and/or selecting the base station to which the neighbor cell of the cell meeting the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation indicated in the measurement report of the automatic handover preparation belongs as the target base station needing the automatic handover preparation.
Here, the cell signal quality satisfying the measurement report condition prepared for automatic handover in the measurement report is high, the probability of automatic handover of the terminal is high, and the source base station may select, as the target base station requiring automatic handover preparation, the base station to which the cell satisfying the measurement report condition prepared for automatic handover indicated in the measurement report prepared for automatic handover belongs. However, since the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation is satisfied before triggering the terminal to perform automatic handover, the terminal is not necessarily handed over to the cell indicated in the measurement report, and the base station may select more target base stations of the automatic handover preparation, for example, select a base station to which a neighboring cell of the cell satisfying the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation indicated in the measurement report of the automatic handover preparation belongs as a target base station requiring the automatic handover preparation, so as to avoid that the target base station does not have additional time delay introduced by the terminal context information.
Optionally, before sending the automatic handover request to the target base station that needs automatic handover preparation, the method further includes:
and sending the target cell list with the terminal context information to the terminal.
Here, the source base station may select a cell under the selected automatic handover-prepared target base station as a target cell having the terminal context information, for example, select a cell that satisfies a measurement report condition for automatic handover preparation indicated in a measurement report for automatic handover preparation as a target cell having the terminal context information.
Or after sending an automatic handover request to a target base station which needs automatic handover preparation, the method further comprises the following steps:
and sending the target cell list with the terminal context information to the terminal.
Here, the source base station may regard the cell that accepts the handover request as the target cell with the terminal context information after receiving the automatic handover request response transmitted by the target base station.
At this time, because the target cells sent by the source base station to the terminal are all cells in which the terminal context information is already stored, the terminal can preferentially select the cells as the target cells for handover when automatically handing over, thereby avoiding unnecessary handover delay (i.e. delay of the target base station actively requesting to acquire the terminal context information from the source base station) caused by lack of the terminal context of the target base station for handover.
Further, the source base station should determine whether to send an automatic handover request to the target base station that needs automatic handover preparation according to whether the terminal activates the automatic handover function, and initiate the automatic handover request to the terminal source base station that has activated the automatic handover function.
The method for automatically switching the terminal can effectively determine the time for initiating the switching preparation, and avoids the problem of increasing X2 signaling overhead caused by invalid switching preparation of the source base station.
The prior art does not specify conditions for activating and deactivating automatic handover, which may result in unnecessary handover of the terminal. The method for automatically switching the terminal also specifies the conditions for activating and deactivating the automatic switching of the terminal by the source base station, thereby avoiding the unnecessary automatic switching of the terminal.
The following describes a process of activating an automatic terminal switching function by a source base station in the embodiment of the present invention.
Optionally, the method for automatically switching the terminal according to the embodiment of the present invention further includes:
and 103, acquiring the UE capability information of the terminal.
Here, the source base station may receive UE capability information transmitted by the terminal or receive capability information of the UE of the terminal transmitted by another base station.
And step 104, determining whether the terminal supports the automatic switching function or not according to the UE capability information of the terminal.
Here, the terminal supporting the auto-switching function includes an auto-switching function indication in the UE capability information transmitted to the network side, and the source base station may determine whether the terminal supports the auto-switching function according to the UE capability information.
Optionally, the method for automatically switching the terminal according to the embodiment of the present invention further includes:
and 105, activating the automatic switching function of the terminal when the terminal is determined to support the automatic switching function.
Here, if it is determined that the terminal supports the automatic handover function, the source base station may instruct the terminal to activate the automatic handover function.
Or step 106, when it is determined that the terminal supports the automatic switching function, acquiring the occupancy rate of the channel, and when the occupancy rate of the channel is greater than a first preset threshold, activating the automatic switching function of the terminal.
Here, when the source base station determines that the terminal supports the automatic handover function, it further determines whether to activate the automatic handover function of the terminal according to the channel occupancy. If the currently detected channel occupancy rate or the average channel occupancy rate detected in the preset time exceeds a specified threshold (a first preset threshold), the terminal is instructed to activate the automatic switching function, because the higher the detected channel occupancy rate is, the less idle subframes available to the source base station is, and the larger the time delay for sending the switching command is.
Or step 107, when it is determined that the terminal supports the automatic switching function and receives a request for activating the automatic switching function, the automatic switching function of the terminal is activated.
Here, the source base station instructs the terminal to activate the automatic switching function when receiving an automatic switching function activation request sent by the terminal, wherein the terminal may also determine whether to send the automatic switching function activation request according to the channel occupancy detected by the terminal itself, and if the currently detected channel occupancy or the average channel occupancy detected within a preset time exceeds a specified threshold, the automatic switching function activation request is sent, because detecting that the higher the channel occupancy is, the less idle subframes available to the terminal is, the larger the time delay for sending the measurement report is.
Wherein the occupancy of the channel may be defined as a number of detected cells of the base station other than the base station.
Here, when the source base station detects that the number of other base station cells exceeds a specified number, it may be considered that the channel occupancy exceeds a specified threshold (first preset threshold), and the terminal is instructed to activate the automatic handover function.
Or the channel occupancy may be defined as a ratio of the number of times that the channel is detected to be occupied before transmitting data within a first preset time to the total number of times of channel occupancy detection. Or the occupancy rate may be defined as a ratio of the number of times that the channel occupancy is detected to the total number of times that the channel occupancy is detected when the channel occupancy detection is periodically performed within the second preset time.
Here, the channel occupancy reflects the probability of successful LBT when transmitting downlink data. The Channel occupancy detection may be a CCA (Clear Channel Assessment), but also other Channel detections, such as an initial Clear Channel Assessment initial CCA or an extended Clear Channel Assessment extended CCA. Successful detection of channel occupancy may refer to successful CCA once, or successful CCA continuous detection for multiple times.
Or the occupancy may be defined as a ratio of a time at which an average Received Signal Strength (RSS) detected within a third preset time exceeds a third preset threshold to the third preset time.
For example, if it is detected that the RSS of N subframes exceeds a third preset threshold within the T subframes, the channel occupancy is N/T.
Optionally, the method for automatically switching the terminal according to the embodiment of the present invention further includes:
step 108, when it is determined that the terminal supports the automatic switching function, sending a measurement configuration message for activating the automatic switching function to the terminal, and detecting an acquired measurement report for activating the automatic switching function sent by the terminal; wherein the measurement configuration message for activating the automatic switching function includes a measurement object configuration and a measurement report condition configuration for activating the automatic switching function.
Here, the source base station transmits to the terminal a measurement configuration message for activating the automatic handover function, which includes a measurement object configuration and a measurement report condition configuration. In a specific implementation, the base station may send a measurement configuration message for activating the automatic handover function to the terminal based on a certain condition, for example, when it is determined to initiate automatic handover preparation to the target base station (i.e., in the embodiment of the present invention, when a measurement report for automatic handover preparation sent by the terminal is received). And the terminal performs channel measurement according to the measurement configuration message aiming at the activation of the automatic switching function, and sends a measurement report to the source base station when the measurement meets the measurement report condition aiming at the activation of the automatic switching function.
And step 109, activating the automatic switching function of the terminal according to the measurement report aiming at activating the automatic switching function.
Here, the source base station receives a measurement report for activating the automatic handover function, instructing the terminal to activate the automatic handover function.
Optionally, in a specific implementation, the measurement event in the configuration of the measurement report condition for activating the automatic switching function is one of events a2-1, A3-1, a4, and a5.
It should be noted that, the measurement report condition for activating the automatic switching function is looser or the same as the condition for triggering the terminal automatic switching, that is, the measurement report condition for the terminal to send the activation automatic switching function should be satisfied at the same time or before the condition for triggering the terminal automatic switching, so that the terminal can be ensured to activate the automatic switching function at the same time or before the execution of the automatic switching, thereby performing the switching smoothly and avoiding causing unnecessary switching delay.
For example, because the A2-1 event is more lenient than the A3-1 event condition, the measurement event in the measurement report condition configuration for activating the auto-switch function may be configured as A2-1, i.e., before the A3-1 event triggering the terminal auto-switch; alternatively, the measurement event in the configuration of the measurement report condition for activating the automatic handover function may be configured as a3-1, but the measurement report condition for activating the automatic handover function is configured more loosely than the condition for triggering the automatic handover of the terminal, for example, the relative threshold for the neighbor cell signal strength to be higher than the serving cell signal strength is configured to be lower (i.e., lower offset value) or a shorter hysteresis time value is configured.
Further, the measurement report condition for the automatic handover preparation is stricter or the same as the measurement report condition for the activation of the automatic handover function, that is, the condition that the terminal sends the measurement report for the automatic handover preparation should be satisfied at the same time or later than the condition for the activation of the automatic handover function of the terminal, which can ensure that the target base station completes the handover preparation at the same time or later than the time of the activation of the automatic handover function of the terminal, thereby avoiding unnecessary handover preparation.
For example, if the measurement event in the measurement report condition configuration for activating the auto changeover function is configured as A3-1, the measurement event in the measurement report condition configuration prepared for the auto changeover may be configured as a 5; alternatively, if the measurement event in the measurement report condition configuration for activating the automatic handover function is configured as a2-1, the measurement event in the measurement report condition configuration prepared for automatic handover should be a stricter a2-1 event, i.e., a lower serving cell signal strength threshold.
In particular, the measurement report condition for activating the automatic handover function may be stricter than the measurement report condition for the automatic handover preparation, that is, the measurement report condition for activating the automatic handover function transmitted by the terminal may be satisfied later than the measurement report condition for the automatic handover preparation.
Optionally, when the source base station indicates the terminal to activate the automatic handover function, a target cell list supporting the automatic handover function may also be sent. The purpose of the target cell list supporting the automatic handover function is to enable the terminal to select a target cell according to the base stations in the list so as to avoid handover failure.
In the embodiment of the invention, the automatic switching function of the terminal activated by the source base station can be explicit indication or implicit activation. Optionally, the step of activating the automatic switching function of the terminal includes:
instructing the terminal to activate an automatic handover function by sending a target cell list to the terminal, wherein the target cell list comprises a target cell list supporting the automatic handover function and/or a target cell list with terminal context information; or
And indicating the terminal to activate an automatic switching function by sending automatic switching timer configuration to the terminal, wherein the automatic switching timer configuration is used for determining the time length of an automatic switching timer according to the automatic switching timer configuration and starting automatic switching after the automatic switching timer is overtime.
In the hybrid automatic handover, after a source base station receives a measurement report of the automatic handover sent when triggering the hybrid automatic handover of a terminal (i.e. starting the automatic handover timer), a traditional handover preparation request is sent to a selected traditional handover target cell, then a handover command is sent to the terminal, and if the terminal receives the handover command before the automatic handover timer is overtime, the terminal stops timing by the timer and switches to the target cell indicated by the handover command. The base station may also send a conventional handover target cell list to the terminal, where the conventional handover target cell list includes target cells ready for conventional handover. If the terminal receives the list before the automatic handover timer times out, the terminal will first consider selecting the target cell ready for conventional handover when performing automatic handover after the timer times out, since this will further reduce the handover delay.
The method for automatically switching the terminal of the embodiment of the invention specifies the condition that the source base station activates the automatic switching of the terminal, and avoids the unnecessary automatic switching of the terminal.
The following describes a process of deactivating an automatic terminal switching function by a source base station in the embodiment of the present invention.
Optionally, after the base station activates the terminal automatic switching function, the method for terminal automatic switching according to the embodiment of the present invention further includes:

Here, the channel occupancy reflects the probability of successful LBT when transmitting downlink data. The channel occupancy detection may be CCA, or other channel detection, such as initial CCA or extended CCA. The method for automatically switching the terminal of the embodiment of the invention specifies the condition that the source base station deactivates the automatic switching of the terminal, and avoids the unnecessary automatic switching of the terminal.
According to the prior art, when the switching timer is overtime, the terminal is not accessed, the target base station cancels the switching preparation, or when the terminal receives a request for releasing the terminal context sent by the source base station after being successfully switched in other target cells, the switching preparation is cancelled, namely the terminal context information is deleted. However, according to the embodiment of the present invention, the condition for automatic handover preparation is looser than the condition for triggering terminal automatic handover, and the network side does not know whether the terminal performs handover or when to perform handover, and ping-pong handover preparation is easy to occur according to the prior art. The method for automatically switching the terminal can cancel the automatic switching preparation according to the measurement report for canceling the automatic switching preparation, and avoids the problem of ping-pong switching preparation.
The following describes a procedure of canceling the automatic handover preparation by the source base station in the embodiment of the present invention.
Optionally, after the base station completes preparation for automatic handover to the target base station, the method for automatic handover of a terminal according to the embodiment of the present invention further includes:

In particular, the measurement report condition for canceling the automatic handover preparation is more relaxed or the same as the measurement report condition for deactivating the automatic handover function, i.e. the condition that the terminal sends the measurement report for canceling the automatic handover preparation should be satisfied at the same time or before compared with the condition that the terminal deactivates the automatic handover, so that it can be ensured that the target base station completes the cancellation of the handover preparation at the same time or before the terminal deactivates the automatic handover function. The method for automatically switching the terminal can cancel the automatic switching preparation according to the measurement report for canceling the automatic switching preparation, and avoids the problem of ping-pong switching preparation.
In summary, the method for automatically switching the terminal according to the embodiment of the present invention can effectively determine the time for initiating the handover preparation and select the appropriate target base station, thereby avoiding the problem of increasing the signaling overhead of X2 due to the invalid handover preparation performed by the source base station. And the conditions for activating and deactivating the automatic switching of the terminal by the source base station are specified, so that the terminal is prevented from carrying out unnecessary automatic switching. And the automatic switching preparation can be cancelled according to the measurement report aiming at cancelling the automatic switching preparation, thereby avoiding the problem of ping-pong switching preparation.
Second embodiment
The embodiment of the present invention is a specific application embodiment of the first embodiment, and specifically describes a process in which a source base station activates an automatic terminal switching function and initiates an automatic switching preparation. In the embodiment of the present invention, the source base station respectively configures trigger conditions (i.e., configures measurement report conditions) for activating the terminal automatic switching function and initiating the automatic switching preparation, where the activating the terminal automatic switching function and initiating the automatic switching preparation do not have a strict sequence, that is, the base station may send the measurement configuration for activating the terminal automatic switching function to the terminal before or after sending the measurement configuration for the automatic switching preparation.
Referring to fig. 2, a method for automatically switching a terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention is applied to a base station, and includes:

Because there is no strict sequence between activating the terminal automatic switching function and initiating the automatic switching preparation, in a specific implementation, the base station may send a measurement configuration message for activating the automatic switching function to the terminal after determining to initiate the automatic switching preparation to the target base station. And the terminal performs channel measurement according to the measurement configuration message aiming at the activation of the automatic switching function, and sends a measurement report to the source base station when the measurement meets the measurement report condition aiming at the activation of the automatic switching function.

selecting the base station to which the cell meeting the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation indicated in the measurement report of the automatic handover preparation belongs as the target base station requiring the automatic handover preparation; and/or selecting the base station to which the neighbor cell of the cell meeting the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation indicated in the measurement report of the automatic handover preparation belongs as the target base station needing the automatic handover preparation.
Here, the cell signal quality satisfying the measurement report condition prepared for automatic handover in the measurement report is high, the probability of automatic handover of the terminal is high, and the source base station may select, as the target base station requiring automatic handover preparation, the base station to which the cell satisfying the measurement report condition prepared for automatic handover indicated in the measurement report prepared for automatic handover belongs. However, since the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation is satisfied before triggering the terminal to perform automatic handover, the terminal is not necessarily handed over to the cell indicated in the measurement report, and the base station may select more target base stations of the automatic handover preparation, for example, select a base station to which a neighboring cell of the cell satisfying the measurement report condition of the automatic handover preparation indicated in the measurement report of the automatic handover preparation belongs as a target base station requiring the automatic handover preparation, so as to avoid that the target base station does not have additional time delay introduced by the terminal context information.
Optionally, before sending the automatic handover request to the target base station that needs automatic handover preparation, the method further includes:

At this time, because the target cells sent by the source base station to the terminal are all cells in which the terminal context information is already stored, the terminal can preferentially select the cells as the target cells for handover when automatically handing over, thereby avoiding unnecessary handover delay (i.e. delay of the target base station actively requesting to acquire the terminal context information from the source base station) caused by lack of the terminal context of the target base station for handover.
In the first application scenario of the embodiment of the present invention, the terminal is completely automatically switched, and the signaling process is as shown in fig. 3:

Then, the base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at the automatic switching preparation to the terminal, and determines to initiate the automatic switching preparation and selects a target base station needing the automatic switching preparation after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) aiming at the automatic switching preparation sent by the terminal; the base station sends an automatic handover Request message (automatic HO Request) to the target base station, and the target base station sends an automatic handover Request response message (automatic HO Request ACK) to the base station. Optionally, the base station sends a Target Cell list (Target Cell list) with terminal context information to the terminal according to the received automatic handover request response message, so that the terminal may select a Cell in the Target Cell list as much as possible when selecting a handover Target Cell. The terminal makes an automatic handover decision and then sends a handover request message to the target base station to the target cell.
In this application scenario, the sending, by the base station, the measurement configuration message prepared for automatic handover to the terminal may be performed before sending the measurement configuration message for activating the automatic handover function to the terminal, that is, before the terminal makes an automatic handover decision, the following signaling flows may be performed:
a base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at automatic switching preparation to a terminal, and determines to initiate the automatic switching preparation and selects a target base station needing the automatic switching preparation after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) aiming at the automatic switching preparation sent by the terminal; the base station sends an automatic handover Request message (automatic HO Request) to the target base station, and the target base station sends an automatic handover Request response message (automatic HO Request ACK) to the base station. The method comprises the steps that a base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at activating an automatic switching function to a terminal, and after receiving a Measurement Report message (Measurement Report) aiming at activating the automatic switching function sent by the terminal, the base station sends an automatic switching function activating indication message (AUM active) to the terminal to indicate UE to activate the automatic switching function. Optionally, the base station sends a Target Cell list (Target Cell list) with terminal context information to the terminal according to the received automatic handover request response message, so that the terminal selects a Cell in the Target Cell list as much as possible when selecting a Target Cell to be handed over.
In the second application scenario of the embodiment of the present invention, a hybrid handover combining a traditional handover and an automatic terminal handover is performed under the control of a base station, and a signaling process is shown in fig. 4:
a base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at activating an automatic switching function to a terminal, and sends an automatic switching function activating indication (AUM active) message to the terminal after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) aiming at activating the automatic switching function sent by the terminal, and indicates the terminal to activate the automatic switching function; then, the base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at the automatic switching preparation to the terminal, and after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) aiming at the automatic switching preparation sent by the terminal, the base station determines to initiate the automatic switching preparation and selects a target base station needing the automatic switching preparation; the base station sends an automatic handover Request message (automatic HO Request) to the target base station, and the target base station sends an automatic handover Request response message (automatic HO Request ACK) to the base station. Optionally, the base station sends a Target Cell list (Target Cell list) with terminal context information to the terminal according to the received automatic handover request response message, so that the terminal selects a Cell in the Target Cell list as a Target Cell as much as possible when performing automatic handover after the automatic handover timer times out. When the terminal triggers the hybrid handover (satisfies the Measurement Report condition for the hybrid handover), the terminal starts an automatic handover timer and transmits a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) for the hybrid handover to the base station. The base station initiates a traditional handover preparation Request message (HO Request) to a selected traditional handover target base station, the target base station sends a handover Request response message (HO Request ACK) to the base station, and then the base station sends a handover Command (HO Command) to the terminal; and if the terminal receives the switching command before the automatic switching timer is overtime, stopping the automatic switching timer and switching to the target cell indicated by the switching command. When the automatic switching Timer is overtime (Timer Expire), the terminal is triggered to perform automatic switching, and the terminal autonomously selects a target cell and sends a switching request (HO request to target cell) to the target cell.
In this application scenario, sending, by the base station, the measurement configuration message prepared for automatic handover to the terminal may be performed before sending, to the terminal, the measurement configuration message for activating the automatic handover function, that is, before triggering the terminal hybrid handover, there may be the following signaling flow, as shown in fig. 5:
the method comprises the steps that a base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at automatic switching preparation to a terminal, and after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) aiming at the automatic switching preparation sent by the terminal, the base station determines to initiate the automatic switching preparation and selects a target base station needing the automatic switching preparation; the base station sends an automatic handover Request message (automatic HO Request) to the target base station, and the target base station sends an automatic handover Request response message (automatic HO Request ACK) to the base station. Optionally, the base station sends a Target Cell list (Target Cell list) with terminal context information to the terminal according to the received automatic handover request response message, so that the terminal selects a Cell in the Target Cell list as a Target Cell as much as possible when performing automatic handover after the automatic handover timer times out. Then, the base station sends a Measurement configuration message for activating the automatic switching function to the terminal, and sends an indication (AUM active) message for activating the automatic switching function to the terminal after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) for activating the automatic switching function sent by the terminal, so as to indicate the terminal to activate the automatic switching function. In a specific implementation, the base station may also implicitly activate an automatic handover function of the terminal by sending a measurement configuration message for hybrid handover.
Specifically, the base station configures the same measurement report condition for the hybrid handover and automatic handover preparation of the terminal, when the measurement report condition is met, the terminal triggers the hybrid handover (starts an automatic handover timer) and sends the measurement report, and when the base station receives the measurement report, the base station initiates the automatic handover preparation, wherein the base station uses the traditional handover preparation process to realize the automatic handover preparation. The specific flow is shown in fig. 6:
the base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at activating the automatic switching function to the terminal, and sends an automatic switching function activating indication (AUM active) message to the terminal after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) aiming at activating the automatic switching function sent by the terminal, so as to indicate the terminal to activate the automatic switching function. Then, the base station sends a Measurement configuration message aiming at the terminal hybrid handover to the terminal, after receiving a Measurement Report (Measurement Report) sent by the terminal, the base station selects a target base station and sends a handover Request message (HO Request) to the target base station, and the target base station sends a handover Request response message (HO Request ACK) to the base station. Wherein, the base station may not exclusively send out an indication message for activating the automatic handover function but implicitly activate the automatic handover function of the terminal by sending a measurement configuration message for hybrid handover to the terminal. In an application scenario two, the source base station can indicate the terminal to activate the automatic switching function by sending automatic switching timer configuration to the terminal, wherein the automatic switching timer configuration is used for the terminal to determine the time length of the automatic switching timer according to the automatic switching timer configuration and start automatic switching after the automatic switching timer is overtime.
After receiving a measurement report for hybrid handover sent when the terminal starts the automatic handover timer, the source base station may send a conventional handover target cell list to the terminal, where the conventional handover target cell list includes a target cell prepared for conventional handover. If the terminal receives the list before the automatic handover timer times out, the terminal will first consider selecting the target cell ready for conventional handover when performing automatic handover after the timer times out, since this will further reduce the handover delay.
The method for automatically switching the terminal can effectively determine the time for initiating the switching preparation and select the appropriate target base station, and avoids the problem of increasing X2 signaling overhead caused by invalid switching preparation of the source base station. And the condition that the source base station activates the automatic switching of the terminal is specified, and the unnecessary automatic switching of the terminal is avoided.
Third embodiment
The embodiment of the present invention is a specific application embodiment of the first embodiment, and specifically describes a process in which a source base station activates an automatic terminal switching function and initiates an automatic switching preparation. In the embodiment of the invention, the source base station configures the same trigger condition (namely the condition of configuring the measurement report) for activating the automatic terminal switching function and initiating the automatic switching preparation, and simultaneously activates the automatic terminal switching function and initiates the automatic switching preparation.
Referring to fig. 7, a method for automatically switching a terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention is applied to a base station, and includes:

In the embodiment of the invention, the source base station can indicate the terminal to activate the automatic switching function by sending the target cell list to the terminal, and the target cell list comprises a target cell list supporting the automatic switching function and/or a target cell list with terminal context information.
The purpose of the target cell list supporting the automatic handover function is to enable the terminal to select a target cell according to the base stations in the list so as to avoid handover failure.
The target cell list with the terminal context information has the function of enabling the terminal to select the target cell according to the base stations in the list so as to avoid introducing extra switching delay, and can be a fixed list for the terminal under each source base station, a different list for the cell accessed by the terminal, or a different list for the terminal under each source base station. The terminal may consider first a list of target cells with terminal context information and second a list of target cells that support an automatic handover function.

After receiving the measurement report of automatic handover sent when the terminal starts the automatic handover timer, the source base station may send a conventional handover target cell list to the terminal, where the conventional handover target cell list includes a target cell ready for conventional handover. If the terminal receives the list before the automatic handover timer times out, the terminal will first consider selecting the target cell ready for conventional handover when performing automatic handover after the timer times out, since this will further reduce the handover delay.
The method for automatically switching the terminal can effectively determine the time for initiating the switching preparation and select the appropriate target base station, and avoids the problem of increasing X2 signaling overhead caused by invalid switching preparation of the source base station. And the condition that the source base station activates the automatic switching of the terminal is specified, and the unnecessary automatic switching of the terminal is avoided.
Fourth embodiment

instructing the terminal to activate an automatic handover function by sending a target cell list to the terminal, wherein the target cell list comprises a target cell list supporting the automatic handover function and/or a target cell list with terminal context information; or
