The invention relates to an expansion anchor, which is provided in particular for anchoring in thin plates.
Background
European patent application EP 1150024 a1 discloses an expansion anchor for anchoring in thin plates, i.e. standing plates made of stone, for example. The known expansion anchor is anchored in an undercut blind hole with a cylindrical section which merges into a conical undercut at the bottom of the blind hole. The known expansion anchor has a cylindrical shape, which merges into a conical expansion portion and is penetrated by a coaxial through-bore with an internal thread. In thin plates, the remaining thickness of the plate between the bottom of the blind hole and the opposite outer side of the plate is small. There is the risk that the screws or bolts which are screwed into the internal thread of the through-hole of the known expansion anchor are not only screwed in but also screwed through and rest against the bottom of the blind hole in which the expansion anchor is to be anchored or is already anchored. Here, the bolts or screws may penetrate the plate on the bottom of the blind holes.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the invention is to provide an expansion anchor of the type mentioned above, which avoids penetration through the bottom of the blind hole in which it is anchored.
The expansion anchor according to the invention has a through-hole with an internal thread. The through-hole extends in the longitudinal direction in the direction of the longitudinal axis and completely up to the front end through the expansion anchor. According to the invention, however, the internal thread does not extend directly to the front end, but rather an unthreaded section is formed between the front end and the internal thread. The terms "front" and "rear" refer to the insertion direction of the expansion anchor into the blind hole according to the plan. The internal thread thus ends or runs off before the end of the front part of the expansion anchor according to the invention, when the through-hole runs completely through the expansion anchor from the end of the rear part in the insertion direction to the end of the front part in the insertion direction. The latter means that the height of the internal thread decreases until zero. The blind internal thread prevents the screw or the threaded rod from being screwed through the expansion body and protruding out at the front end. Damage to the bottom of the blind hole can thereby be avoided.
The diameter of the unthreaded section of the through-bore of the expansion anchor according to the invention is as large as the internal diameter of the internal thread according to the invention. The diameter of the through hole in the unthreaded section is the core diameter of the internal thread. In particular, "diameter of the through-hole" refers to the maximum inner diameter of the through-hole outside the internal thread and in the unthreaded section, wherein possible transitions or chamfers or fillets are not taken into account. The through-hole is cylindrical if the pitch of the internal thread and possibly the chamfer at the orifice are neglected, the through-hole having a constant diameter and a circular cross-section over its entire length.
The expansion anchor according to the invention is used in particular for anchoring in an undercut blind hole of a thin plate, for example a vertical plate made of stone. By "thin" is meant that the plate is only a fraction of the depth of the undercut blind hole greater than the blind hole depth. Since the remaining thickness of the plate at the bottom of the blind hole is small, there is a risk of penetration if the expansion anchor allows a screw and a threaded rod to be screwed through and out at the end of the front expansion anchor facing the bottom of the blind hole, which risk is avoided by the blind internal thread of the expansion anchor according to the invention. The expansion anchor according to the invention can, however, likewise be anchored in an undercut blind hole in a thick plate or in another anchor base part.
For the expansion of, for example, an expansion ring or an expansion sleeve, the expansion anchor according to the invention has at its front end a expansion portion in which the expansion anchor expands radially at least in sections in the longitudinal direction, i.e. in particular in the insertion direction in the blind hole. In particular, the expansion anchor expands conically, but it can also expand in the shape of a wedge or a pyramid or with one or more steps. This list is for illustration and is not exhaustive. The expansion ring or the expansion sleeve can be expanded by pushing it onto the expansion portion of the expansion anchor or by pulling it into the expansion ring or expansion sleeve, which is also understood to mean the expansion of the expansion ring, expansion sleeve and/or expansion anchor. For anchoring in the undercut drilled hole, the expansion ring or expansion sleeve is expanded in the undercut and the expansion anchor is held in a form-locking manner, i.e. anchored in the undercut of the blind hole.
In general, an expansion ring or an expansion sleeve is also understood to be an expansion element which is movable relative to the expansion section in the longitudinal direction of the through-opening. The expansion elements can be closed in the circumferential direction or have openings, for example through slots. For the purpose of expansion, the expansion sleeve can also have one or preferably a plurality of blind slots. The expansion ring may be undulating to provide for expansion. The expansion is effected by a relative movement of the expansion element relative to the expansion portion, i.e. by pulling the expansion portion into the expansion element or, in the same sense, by pushing the expansion element onto the expansion portion.
Preferably, the expansion element is unslotted. It is also preferred that the expansion anchor is unslotted in the section of the expansion portion.

Detailed Description
The expansion anchor 1 according to the invention shown in the figures has a cylindrical collar 2 to which a conical expansion section 3 is integrally connected, in which expansion anchor 1 expands radially. The expansion part 3 ends at the front end 4 of the expansion anchor and the flange 2 ends at the rear end 5 of the expansion anchor 1. The expansion anchor 1 is penetrated by a cylindrical and coaxial through-hole 6 which penetrates or passes through the expansion anchor 1 completely up to the front end 4 and over its entire length, with the exception of a chamfer 7 at the mouth of the through-hole 6 at the rear end 5 of the expansion anchor 1, has a constant diameter and a constant circular area as a cross-sectional area. The through-bore 6 has an internal thread 8, which differs from the through-bore 6 in that the internal thread 8 does not extend straight to the front end 4, i.e. does not penetrate, but rather runs off before the front end 4 of the expansion anchor 1. The outlet of the internal thread 8 is identified with reference numeral 9. The through-hole 6 has the inner diameter of the internal thread 8 as a diameter, which is understood to be the core bore of the internal thread 8.
The expansion part 3 is then placed on the expansion anchor 1 on the outside, and an expansion ring 10 is arranged on the flange 2 in an axially displaceable manner, which ring surrounds the flange 2. The expansion ring 10 is also generally understood to be an expansion element 11. The expansion ring 10 has a circumferential ring 12 in a radial plane, from which lugs 13 integral therewith project in the direction of the expansion anchor 1 expansion segment 3. This design of the expansion ring 10 is not mandatory for the invention. In addition to the expansion ring 10, other expansion elements are also conceivable, for example a slotted or also unslotted expansion sleeve (not shown).
On the side of the expansion ring 10 facing away from the expansion portion 3 of the expansion anchor 1, a sliding sleeve 14 is arranged on the flange 2 of the expansion anchor 1 in an axially displaceable manner. As can be seen in fig. 1, the sliding sleeve 14 projects axially beyond the rear end 5 of the expansion anchor 1 when the expansion ring 10 is not expanded.
For anchoring in a plate 15 (for example a vertical plate made of stone), the expansion anchor 1 is inserted into a cylindrical blind hole 16 in the plate 15, which blind hole has a conical expansion as an undercut 17 on the bottom of the blind hole 16. Blind holes 16 with undercuts 17 can also be understood as anchor holes. The expansion section 3 and the front end 4 are disposed at the front in the insertion direction of the expansion anchor 1 into the blind hole 16. The expansion ring 10 is pushed onto the expansion section 3 of the expansion anchor 1 by means of the sliding sleeve 14. In this case, the expansion 3 pushes the tabs 13 of the expansion ring 10 outward into the rear insert in the undercut 17 of the blind hole 16, as can be seen in fig. 3. The expansion anchor 1 is held in the plate 15 by the lugs 13 of the expansion ring 10 counter-latching the undercuts 17 of the blind holes 16 and in this way by form-locking, which can also be referred to as anchoring the expansion anchor 1 in the plate 15. The mutual displacement of the webs 13 is also understood to mean the expansion of the stent ring 10 or of the expansion anchor 1.
As shown in fig. 2, in order to push the sliding sleeve 14 onto the expansion anchor 1 and the expansion ring 10 onto the expansion portion 3, a threaded spindle 18 can be screwed into the internal thread 8 of the expansion anchor 1 and the sliding sleeve 14 can be displaced by means of a nut 19 screwed onto the threaded spindle 18. The non-continuous internal thread 8, which however ends before the front end 4 of the expansion anchor 1, prevents the threaded rod 18 from being screwed through the expansion anchor 1 and protruding at the front end 4. Thereby preventing the threaded rod 18 from hitting the bottom 20 of the blind hole 16. This prevents the threaded rod 18 from penetrating the plate 15 on the bottom 20 of the blind hole 16 in the thin plate 15. As can be seen in fig. 3, the expansion anchor 1 is anchored in the plate 15 by means of the expanding expansion ring 10, so that the bolt or another threaded rod 18, screws not shown or other threaded elements, which are screwed into the internal thread 8 of the expansion anchor 1, can be fastened to, for example, a building wall. The internal thread 8, which does not pass through but ends before the front end 4 of the expansion anchor 1, prevents such a threaded element, which is screwed into the internal thread 8, from protruding from the expansion anchor 1 at the front end 4 and damaging the plate 15 at the base 20 of the blind hole 16.

Claims (5)

1. Expansion anchor for anchoring in an undercut blind hole (16) for anchoring in a thin plate (15), wherein the expansion anchor (1) has a through-hole (6) with an internal thread (8), the difference between the length of the through-hole and the thickness of the thin plate (15) being small, wherein the through-hole (6) penetrates the expansion anchor in the longitudinal direction completely up to the front end (4) of the through-hole (6), characterized in that the internal thread (8) does not extend to the front end (4) of the through-hole (6), but rather an unthreaded section is formed between the front end (4) and the internal thread (8), which has the diameter of the through-hole (6) that is as large as the internal diameter of the internal thread (8).
