Description

Press roll support
Technical Field
The invention relates to a pressure roller bearing (Druckwalzenlagering), in particular for a drafting device of a spinning machine, comprising a roller body, a shaft, a flange sleeve pressed onto the shaft, a ball row arranged between the roller body and the shaft, and a bearing cover.
Background
Seals for supporting spinning machine pressure rollers are known, which show a thin-walled sealing sleeve with two flanges and are pressed onto a stationary shaft of the pressure roller. There is a relatively narrow sealing gap between the rotating bushing of the press roll and the sealing bush flange, whereby the ball bearing of the press roll should be protected against dirt ingress and against grease leakage.
The bearing is periodically replenished with new grease through an opening in the bearing cap. Practical experience throughout the years has shown that lubrication is generally too frequent and that unnecessarily much grease is employed. Excess grease migrates outward through the sealing gap and causes undesirable soiling of the drafting system of the spinning machine. Attempts have also always been made in the last years to replace simple sealing bushings with improved solutions. The improved seal does not achieve the desired effect, but the manufacturing costs are much higher and therefore only very small scale use is made on the market.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention is based on the object of providing a roll support and a method for producing a seal for a roll, in which the disadvantages known from the prior art are avoided or at least significantly reduced.
The object is achieved, firstly, by a press roll bearing according to the invention, in particular for a drafting system of a spinning machine, having a roll body, a shaft, a flange sleeve which is pressed onto the shaft, and a ball row which is arranged between the roll body and the shaft, characterized in that a sealing bush is provided which is pressed into the roll body and bears axially against the flange sleeve. According to the invention, the axial distance between the flange bushing and the sealing bush is advantageously close to zero. Whereby an optimal sealing is obtained.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the sealing bush surrounds the shaft with a small radial clearance. The radial clearance which is present according to the invention between the flange bushing and the sealing bush is advantageously also close to zero. Thereby, grease can be reliably prevented from leaking out of the press roll through the sealing gap and contaminating the environment. The object of lubricating the press roll over a long period of time and preferably during its service life is achieved by very simple means and at low cost.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the roll carrier is characterized in that the sealing bush is made of plastic, composite material, aluminum, brass, steel or bronze. All of the materials have proven to be good friction pairs (reimbursspartner).
The object is also achieved by a method for producing a roller bearing, i.e. a method for producing a seal for a roller, characterized in that a seal bush is pressed into the roller body by means of the flange sleeve. This allows the cost-effective production of the pressure roller bearing, wherein at the same time a very tight and thus sealed sealing bush is obtained against the flange sleeve.
An advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention is characterized in that the roller body and the shaft are axially supported during the pressing-in of the sealing bush in such a way that the ball bearing is not subjected to axial loads. In this way, damage to the roller body of the ball bearing is advantageously virtually eliminated.
Drawings
In order to show how the present invention may be designed and more readily understood, it is briefly described below with reference to the embodiments and by means of the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows very schematically and in simplified form a support for a pressure roller known from the prior art; and
figure 2 shows very schematically and in simplified form one embodiment of a roll support according to the invention.
Detailed Description
An example of a seal for ball bearings of spinning machine rollers, which is widely used and provided today, is shown in fig. 1, which has a thin-walled bush 1 with two flanges, which is pressed onto the stationary shaft 2 of the bearing and forms a sealing gap 5 with respect to the bore 3 of the revolving bushing 4 of the ball bearing, which sealing gap should protect the ball bearing 6 from dirt ingress and grease leakage. The ball bearing 6 can be replenished with new grease through a closable opening 7 in a bearing cap 8. When the amount of grease in the bearing is too high, the excess grease moves outward through the seal gap 5 and causes dirt.
The seal of the inventive roller bearing, as shown in fig. 2, is formed by two components, namely a flanged bush 11 with two flanges and a sealing bush 19 which is pressed into the bore 13 of the ball bearing rotating bushing 14 and which preferably surrounds the stationary shaft 12 with a small radial gap 110. The two seals together provide reliable protection against the ingress of fibre particles and other dirt into the ball bearing and against the exudation of grease.
The sealing bush 19 is advantageously pressed axially into the bushing 14 by the flange sleeve 11. The press fit between the flanged bush 11 and the bushing 14 is advantageously set such that the specific pressure between the sealing bush 19 and the bushing 14 does not exceed the value allowed by the slide bearing. The service life of the roll support is essentially dependent on the quality of the lubricant used and can be up to ten years or more in a three-layer operation.
In order to prevent impermissible pressure forces from acting axially on the two ball rows during the pressing-in of the flanged bush 11 and the sealing bush 19, it is expedient to fix the shaft 12 and the bushing 14 axially during the pressing-in process, as is schematically indicated by the arrows a and B in fig. 2.
The sealing bush 19 may preferably be made of plastic, composite material, aluminium, brass, steel, bronze or similar material.
