The following detailed description will further illustrate the invention in conjunction with the above-described figures.
[ detailed description ] embodiments
The electrical connector 100 of the present invention is held in a mobile communication device (not shown) such that a module (not shown) is attached to and detached from the electrical connector 100. The module has a module connector 200. When the module is loaded into the electrical connector 100, the module connector 200 mates with the electrical connector 100. Referring to fig. 1 to 4, the electrical connector 100 includes a frame 1, a plurality of terminals 2 fixed in the frame 1, and a shielding shell 3 assembled on the frame 1.
The framework 1 includes a base 11, a base 12 located on the base 11, a tongue 13 extending forward from the base 12, and an upwardly opening receiving groove 14 formed between the base 12 and the tongue 13. The base 11 has a plurality of through holes 111 and a plurality of columnar fixing portions 112 projecting downward. The tongue portion 13 is provided with a plurality of terminal grooves 131 penetrating the housing groove 14. The tongue 13 is provided on both sides with a pair of retaining walls 15 connected to the base 12. The base 11 is embedded in the mobile communication device, and the base 11 is provided with a plurality of positioning parts 113 protruding upwards to be positioned with positioning holes of the mobile communication device. The base 12 is provided with a plurality of buckling parts 16 at two sides.
Each terminal 2 has a holding arm 21 extending vertically, an elastic arm 22 extending forward in a cantilever manner from the holding arm 21, a contact portion 23 projecting upward from the elastic arm 22, an embedded portion 24 provided at the front end of the contact portion 23, and a soldering portion 25 extending rearward from the bottom of the holding arm 21.
The shielding shell 3 includes an upper wall 31, a pair of sidewalls 32 extending downward from both sides of the upper wall 31, and a plurality of holding portions 33 protruding downward from each sidewall 32. A plurality of fastening holes 321 are formed on two sides of the sidewall 32.
When the terminal 2 is mounted on the frame 1, the holding arm 21 is held in the terminal groove 131, and the contact portion 23 protrudes from the terminal groove 131 into the housing groove 14. The embedded portion 24 abuts against the lower wall surface of the terminal groove 131 to prevent the terminal 2 from being separated upward from the terminal groove 131. The shield case 3 is assembled to the frame 1 holding the terminal 2 to protect the electrical connector 100. The shielding case 3 has an upper wall 31 covering the upper surface of the base 12, and side walls 32 covering both sides of the base 12 and both sides of the holding walls 15. The locking portion 16 is locked to the locking hole 321. The upper wall 31 of the shield case 3 does not cover the housing groove 14 and the housing groove 14 is opened upward so that the module is loaded into the housing groove 14 or unloaded from the housing groove 14 from the top down. In the best mode, the front edge of the upper wall 31 reaches the receiving slot 14, that is, the front edge of the upper wall 31 is flush with the front surface of the base 12 or slightly protrudes from the front surface of the base 12, so as to prevent the electrical connector 100 from being damaged when the module is assembled or disassembled. The holding portion 33 of the shielding shell 3 is downward passed through the through hole 111 of the frame 1 and welded to a main circuit board (not shown) in the mobile communication device by means of a through hole together with the fixing portion 112 of the frame 1. Therefore, the structure of the electrical connector 100 can be reinforced, and the fixation of the electrical connector 100 and the main circuit board can be enhanced. The soldering portion 25 of the terminal 2 may be soldered to the main circuit board by surface soldering. The soldering portion 25 may also be provided in a vertically extending structure to be soldered to the main circuit board in a through-hole manner.
As shown in fig. 5 to 8, the module connector 200 includes a base 201 and a plurality of module terminals 202 held in the base 201. The base 201 is provided with a plurality of terminal grooves 2011. Each module terminal 202 includes a contact section 2021 extending horizontally and exposed to the module terminal groove 2011, a soldering section 2022 extending horizontally, a connecting section 2023 of the vertical connector between the contact section 2021 and the soldering section 2022, and an insertion section 2024 extending downward from the front end of the contact section 2021.
As shown in fig. 9 and 10, in use, the module connector 200 is inserted into the receiving groove 14 of the electrical connector 100, and the contact section 2021 of the module terminal 202 contacts the contact portion 23 of the terminal 2 of the electrical connector 100. The contact portions 23 of the terminals 2 are pressed downward by the module terminals 202 to separate the embedded portions 24 downward from the lower wall surfaces of the terminal grooves 131. When the module connector 200 is removed from the receiving groove 14 of the electrical connector 100, the terminal 2 is elastically restored, and the embedded portion 24 abuts against the lower wall surface of the terminal groove 131.
Referring to fig. 11, the electrical connector assembly 300 is formed by connecting two or more electrical connectors 100 in a transverse direction. Referring to fig. 12 and 13, the module connector assembly 400 is formed by connecting two or more module connectors 200 in a transverse direction. The modular connector assembly 400 mates with the electrical connector assembly 300 in the same manner as the modular connector 200 mates with the electrical connector 100. A positioning piece 403 is provided between two adjacent module connectors 200 in the module connector assembly 400. The locating tab 403 is retained to the mobile communication device to prevent warping or deformation of the modular connector assembly 400.
The above description is only one embodiment of the present invention, and not all embodiments, and any equivalent variations of the technical solutions of the present invention, which are made by those skilled in the art through reading the present specification, are covered by the claims of the present invention.
