Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of server detection, in particular to a method and a device for a server to automatically enter a BIOS configuration interface. The method connects the system serial port to the debugging equipment, monitors the system serial port information through the debugging equipment, and automatically controls the server to enter BIOS configuration by sending data from the system serial port, so that a worker does not need to wait for a specific time to press keys, the automation degree of production and debugging of the server system can be improved, and the production efficiency is improved.
Background
The primary function of the BIOS is to provide the lowest level, most direct hardware setup and control for the computer. In the test and application of the server, the BIOS setting is often required to be changed for different applications and test scenarios. When the BIOS setting needs to be modified, the user needs to boot and wait for the actions of the server such as power-on self-test and the like. When the server starts up to display the interface of the manufacturer logo, the BIOS setting interface is entered by inputting specific keys (such as Del and Esc keys) according to a preset prompt within a specific time (such as within 5 s).
The startup time of the server (especially a multi-path high configuration server) is generally long, and sometimes even several minutes or more than ten minutes are needed to enter the interface for displaying the logo of the manufacturer. That is, the relevant personnel need to wait for a long time before the machine, and press the corresponding key to enter the BIOS setting interface when the corresponding logo interface is to be displayed; if the period of time is missed, the machine needs to be restarted. Its operation is extremely inconvenient.
The invention discloses a method for automatically entering a BIOS configuration interface of a server, aiming at the problems that relevant personnel need to wait too long time and the operation is inconvenient when entering the BIOS setting of the server.
Disclosure of Invention
The design idea of the invention is as follows:
the server is led out of a system serial port for indicating the starting state information, the BIOS information and part of screen display information of the system. The working personnel can check the working state of the server through the system serial port and send an operation command to the server through the system serial port.
Specifically, the present application claims a method for a server to automatically enter a BIOS configuration interface, which is characterized in that the method specifically includes the following steps:
a serial port output device is arranged on the server, and the device is integrated on the server by PCH and BMC and is used for leading out a system serial port signal;
connecting one end of the debugging control device with a serial port output device for interactive communication with a system serial port;
the debugging control device monitors data sent by the system serial port signal, and when the received serial port data indicate that the system enters a logo interface of a manufacturer, the debugging control device sends corresponding data to the server through the serial port output device to indicate that the system enters a BIOS configuration interface.
The method for the server to automatically enter the BIOS configuration interface is further characterized in that the debugging control device is provided with a system serial port output interface for serial port interactive communication with a system below so as to maintain the existing function of the system serial port.
The method for automatically entering the BIOS configuration interface by the server is further characterized in that the function of the debugging control device is specifically realized by the CPLD.
The method for the server to automatically enter the BIOS configuration interface is further characterized in that in the serial port output device, the PCH is connected with the BMC through the LPC, system working information is transmitted to the BMC, and a system serial port signal is led out by the BMC through the connector.
An apparatus for a server to automatically enter a BIOS configuration interface, the apparatus comprising:
the serial port output device is integrated on the server by the PCH and the BMC and is used for leading out a system serial port signal;
one end of the debugging control device is connected with the serial port output device, data sent by a system serial port signal is monitored, when the received serial port data indicate that the system enters a logo interface of a manufacturer, the device sends corresponding data to the server through the serial port output device, and the system is indicated to enter a BIOS configuration interface.
The device for the server to automatically enter the BIOS configuration interface is further characterized in that the debugging control device is provided with a system serial port output interface for serial port interactive communication with a system below so as to maintain the existing function of the system serial port.
The device for the server to automatically enter the BIOS configuration interface is further characterized in that the function of the debugging control device is specifically realized by the CPLD.
The method for the server to automatically enter the BIOS configuration interface is further characterized in that in the serial port output device, the PCH is connected with the BMC through the LPC, system working information is transmitted to the BMC, and a system serial port signal is led out by the BMC through the connector.
Drawings
FIG. 1 is a block diagram of the automatic BIOS interface of the present invention
Detailed Description
The method for automatically entering the BIOS configuration interface can be directly inserted into the debugging equipment when a worker needs to enter the BIOS, and does not need other work such as waiting and inputting keys. The debugging equipment automatically leads the system out of the serial port without influencing the normal function of the serial port of the system.
The method of the present invention will be described in further detail below with reference to the accompanying figure 1:
as shown in fig. 1, a PCH (Platform Controller Hub) and a BMC (baseband and management Controller) are integrated on a corresponding server to form a serial output device for leading out a system serial signal interface; the CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) and the system serial port output interface are integrated on a debugging Device to form a debugging control Device.
The PCH is connected with the BMC through LPC (Low Pin Count), system working information is transmitted to the BMC, and a system serial port signal is led out by the BMC through a connector;
and at the debugging equipment end, the system serial port signal is connected to the CPLD, and the CPLD also leads out the system serial port signal.
The CPLD transfers the system serial port signal sent by the BMC to the system serial port interface below, so that related personnel can interact with the system through the led system serial port interface to keep the existing function of the system serial port.
And meanwhile, the CPLD monitors data sent by a system serial port, and when the received serial port data indicates that the system enters a logo interface of a manufacturer, the CPLD sends corresponding data to the server through the serial port, (the data indicates that corresponding Esc/Del or other related keys can be pressed down), and the system is indicated to enter a BIOS configuration interface.
It should be apparent that fig. 1 shows only one specific embodiment of the present invention, and those skilled in the art can also obtain other technical solutions according to the drawings without creative efforts, and all of them fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
The technical scheme of the invention has the advantages of simple and feasible method, obvious technical effect and wide application range in practice.
