Background
The steering wheel angle sensor is the primary sensor of automotive ESP systems, electronically controlled suspension systems and electronic steering systems. In order to facilitate steering of a driver, the steering angle of a steering wheel and the deflection angle of steering wheels are generally set to have a large transmission ratio, and the left-right stage limit steering angle of the steering wheel is generally about 4 circles, which puts high demands on the structure of the steering wheel angle sensor and the connecting wire harness. The Hall effect steering wheel angle sensor based on single-stage planetary gear transmission comprises a single-stage planetary gear mechanism, wherein the input end of the single-stage planetary gear mechanism is connected with a steering shaft 1, and the output end of the single-stage planetary gear mechanism is connected with a signal tooth 6; the output end of the signal tooth 6 is connected with the electronic control unit through a Hall component.
The single-stage planetary gear mechanism comprises a gear ring 4, a planet carrier 5 is arranged in the gear ring 4, a sun gear 2 is arranged in the planet carrier 5, and a planetary gear 3 is arranged between the sun gear 2 and the gear ring 4; wherein the sun gear 2 is connected to the steering shaft 1, and the planet carrier 5 is connected to the signal teeth 6.

The control principle is as shown in fig. 2, one of the signal teeth is in a special shape (set according to the shape and the size of the hall element), the first hall element and the second hall element are close to the proper positions of the signal teeth, when the steering wheel is forward, the special-shaped tooth is just in the middle position between the first hall element and the second hall element, when the steering wheel is steering, the hall signals generated by the first hall element and the second hall element are transmitted to the electronic control unit, and the electronic control unit can accurately know the rotation direction and the angle of the steering wheel by calculating and processing according to the hall signals.
The invention can reduce the speed by the single-stage planetary gear mechanism, so that the total rotation angle of the signal teeth 6 is smaller than 360 degrees, for example, the transmission ratio of one row of planetary gear mechanisms is not large enough, and one row of planetary gear mechanisms can be connected in series for combined transmission.
