Referring to fig. 3 and 4, the housing 1 has a top surface 101 disposed horizontally and a mounting surface 102 disposed opposite to the top surface 101, and the top surface 101 is recessed downward to form a central slot 111 for receiving an electronic card (not shown). The insulating body 1 is further provided with two opposite side walls 11 and two end walls 12 located at two longitudinal ends of the insulating body 1, and the end walls 12 are respectively connected to the two longitudinal ends of the side walls 11 so as to enclose the central slot 111. The central slot 111 is provided therein with a key 131 connected to the two sidewalls 11, and the key 13 is used to prevent an electronic card (not shown) from being inserted by mistake. The bottom surface of the sidewall 11 of the insulating body 1 is higher than the mounting surface 102 of the insulating body 1 and is provided with a plurality of terminal slots 110 which are arranged along the longitudinal direction and communicated with the central slot 111. The end wall 12 is provided with a tower 14 for pivotally mounting the locking mechanism 4, and the tower 14 is provided with a mounting groove 140 for receiving the locking mechanism 4.
The conductive terminal 2 is correspondingly accommodated in the terminal slot 110 of the sidewall 11 and is provided with a holding portion 21 fixed in the insulating body 1, an elastic contact portion 22 protruding into the central slot 111 from one end of the holding portion 21, and a welding portion 23 extending out of the insulating body 1 from the other end of the holding portion 21. The card locking mechanism 4 is received in the mounting slot 140 of the tower 14 and is pivotable relative to the tower 14 for locking an electronic card (not shown). The locking plate 5 is installed into the insulating body 1 from the installation surface 12 of the insulating body 1, and the locking plate 5 is used for being clamped on a circuit board (not shown) so as to enable the card edge connector 100 to be stably installed on the circuit board; in the present embodiment, the lock plate member 5 is fixed in the insulating housing 1 from the mounting surfaces of the end walls 12 and the mounting surfaces of the key 13, respectively.

According to the card edge connector 100 of the present invention, the metal shell 3 is added on the outer side of the insulating body 1, so that the card edge connector 100 still has a certain strength on the premise of having the elongated insulating body 1, and the strength and stability of the card edge connector 100 are effectively improved by the metal shell 3. The upper buckling part 31, the lower buckling part 32 and the side buckling part 33 of the metal shell 3 are respectively buckled around the side wall 11, so that the metal shell is stably installed on the insulating body without warping. Meanwhile, the upper buckling part 31 and the lower buckling part 32 of the metal shell are respectively buckled in the areas of the side walls 11 adjacent to the key buckles 13, so that the buckling parts can buckle and hold the insulating body 1 without influencing the arrangement of the terminal slots 110.
In summary, the above is only a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and the scope of the present invention should not be limited thereby. All such modifications and variations are intended to be included herein within the scope of this disclosure and the present invention and protected by the following claims.
