Abstract
本发明提供一种有机发光二极管显示面板及其驱动方法,属于有机发光二极管显示技术领域,其可解决现有的有机发光二极管显示面板的亮度不均匀的问题。本发明适用的有机发光二极管显示面板包括多条电源线,每条电源线连接多个像素,且一端连接电源;而相应的驱动方法包括:获取电源线中的电流值,并将其与预设的阈值比较;当一电源线中的电流值小于或等于阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压;当一电源线中的电流值大于阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压,补偿数据电压等于原数据电压与补偿电压的差,在电流值相同的情况下,等效距离越大的像素对应的补偿电压越大,等效距离为像素沿与其相连的电源线的轨迹到电源距离。
Description
技术领域
本发明属于有机发光二极管显示技术领域,具体涉及一种有机发光二极管显示面板及其驱动方法。
背景技术
有机发光二极管(OLED)显示面板的每个像素中设有一个用于发光显示的有机发光二极管。有机发光二极管的阳极连接电源电压,阴极接地,以为其提供发光必须的电压差。其中,电源电压由电源线提供,每条电源线与多个像素相连,且一端连接电源(如驱动芯片)。有机发光二极管的发光亮度由驱动晶体管的电流决定,该电流则由驱动晶体管栅极的数据电压决定,故通过调整数据电压即可控制像素亮度。
各有机发光二极管的电流都要流入电源线,而电源线有一定电阻,故电源线中会因电流产生压降(IR drop),即电源线距电源越远处的电压越低,相应像素中实际的电源电压也越低。虽然有机发光二极管的亮度不由其电源电压决定,但驱动晶体管的电流却由其栅源电压(源极与栅极的电压差)决定,由于源极电压即为电源电压,故当电源电压降低时,驱动晶体管的电流会变化,进而导致像素亮度变化。由于不同像素与电源的距离不同,故不同像素中电源电压的变换也不同,由其引起的亮度变化也不同,这导致有机发光二极管显示面板不同位置的亮度不均(不是指所希望显示的亮度不同),影响显示效果。
发明内容
本发明至少部分解决现有的有机发光二极管显示面板的亮度不均匀的问题,提供一种可保证亮度均匀的有机发光二极管显示面板及其驱动方法。
解决本发明技术问题所采用的技术方案是一种有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,所述机发光二极管显示面板包括多条电源线,每条电源线连接多个像素,且一端连接电源,所述机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法包括:
获取电源线中的电流值,并将其与预设的阈值比较,所述电流值为电源线在电源与第一个像素间的部分中的电流值,所述第一个像素为与该电源线相连的全部像素中距离电源最近的像素;
当一电源线中的电流值小于或等于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压;
当一电源线中的电流值大于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压,所述补偿数据电压等于原数据电压与补偿电压的差,在电流值相同的情况下,等效距离越大的像素对应的补偿电压越大,所述等效距离为像素沿与其相连的电源线的轨迹到电源距离。
优选的是,所述电流值为一帧画面中,电源线在电源与第一个像素间的部分中的电流的平均值;所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压包括:在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线相连的全部像素提供原数据电压;所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压包括:在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线相连的全部像素提供补偿数据电压。
优选的是,所述电流值为所述电源线中实时的电流值,且与一电源线相连的各像素分别与不同的栅极线相连;所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压包括:向与该电源线相连的下一个像素提供原数据电压;所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压包括:向与该电源线相连的下一个像素提供补偿数据电压。
优选的是,所述电流值根据与电源线相连的像素的灰阶值计算得到;或者,所述电流值通过检测得到。
优选的是,与像素i对应的补偿电压ΔVi根据以下公式计算:ΔVi=I×di×ρ/A;其中I为与像素i相连的电源线中的电流值,di为像素i对应的等效距离,ρ为电源线的材料的电阻率,A为电源线的横截面积。
优选的是,所述电源线沿列方向设置,与其相连的像素位于多个不同行中;则与像素i对应的补偿电压ΔVi根据以下公式计算:ΔVi=I×[R1+ΔR×(n-1)];其中I为与像素i相连的电源线中的电流值,R1为第1行像素与电源间的电源线的电阻,ΔR两相邻行像素间的电源线的电阻,n为像素i所在的行数。
解决本发明技术问题所采用的技术方案是一种有机发光二极管显示面板,其包括:
多条电源线,每条电源线连接多个像素,且一端连接电源;
电流获取单元,用于获取电源线中的电流值,所述电流值为电源线在电源与第一个像素间的部分中的电流值,所述第一个像素为与该电源线相连的全部像素中距离电源最近的像素;
比较单元,用于将所述电流值与预设的阈值比较;
数据电压提供单元,用于在一电源线中的电流值小于或等于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压;并在一电源线中的电流值大于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压,所述补偿数据电压等于原数据电压与补偿电压的差,在电流值相同的情况下,等效距离越大的像素对应的补偿电压越大,所述等效距离为像素沿与其相连的电源线的轨迹到电源距离。

本发明的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法中,当电源线中的电流过大(即与电源线相连的像素亮度不均比较明显)时,则对像素的数据电压进行补偿,改变实际的数据电压,而其中距离电源越远的像素原本的电源电压压降越大,故其对应的补偿电压也越大,这样最终可保证像素的实际亮度基本不变,消除亮度不均匀的现象。

为使本领域技术人员更好地理解本发明的技术方案,下面结合附图和具体实施方式对本发明作进一步详细描述。
实施例1:
如图1、图2所示,本实施例提供一种有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,该方法使用的机发光二极管显示面板包括多条电源线1,每条电源线1连接多个像素2,且一端连接电源3。
其中,每个像素2中有一个有机发光二极管OLED,通过该有机发光二极管OLED发光可实现显示,而每条电源线1则连接多个像素2,并为这些像素2的有机发光二极管OLED的阳极提供电源电压。而电源3则连接电源线1一端,以向电源线1提供电源电压,该电源3可为驱动芯片、电源接口等。
另外,每个像素2中还包括像素电路,如图2所示,一种像素电路包括驱动晶体管T1、开关晶体管T2、存储电容C,其中,栅极线4控制开关晶体管T2是否导通,当开关晶体管T2导通时,数据线5的数据电压经过开关晶体管T2施加到驱动晶体管T1的栅极上,以控制通过驱动晶体管T1的电流,也就是控制与驱动晶体管T1串联的有机发光二极管OLED的发光亮度;而存储电容C则用于在开关晶体管T2关断时,保持驱动晶体管T1栅极的电压,维持发光。
当然,像素电路的具体形式式多样的,但其中均是将数据电压加载到驱动晶体管T1的栅极以控制电流,故在此不再详细描述。
本实施例的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法包括:
获取电源线1中的电流值,并将其与预设的阈值比较,其中,电流值为电源线1在电源3与第一个像素2间的部分中的电流值,第一个像素2为与该电源线1相连的全部像素2中距离电源3最近的像素2;
当一电源线1中的电流值小于或等于阈值时,向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供原数据电压;
当一电源线1中的电流值大于阈值时,向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供补偿数据电压,补偿数据电压等于原数据电压与补偿电压的差,在电流值相同的情况下,等效距离越大的像素2对应的补偿电压越大,等效距离为像素2沿与其相连的电源线1的轨迹到电源3距离。
其中,每个像素2中的电流均会从不同位置流入电源线1中,故电源线1不同位置处的电流不同,其越靠近电源3的部分电流越大,而本实施例中,判断用的电流值为电源3与第一行像素2之间的电源线1部分中的电流,也就是该电源线1中最大的电流,或者说是全部与该电源线1相连的像素2的总电流。
其中,像素2的亮度是由数据线5向其提供的数据电压决定的;而原始数据电压是指在不考虑压降的情况下,提供给像素2的与其理论上应显示的亮度直接对应的电压。
其中,以上等效距离像是指像素2与电源线1的连接处到电源3之间的电源线1的实际长度,其也就是在达到该像素2时电流在电源线1中流过的距离,显然,该距离与电源线1的压降成正比。因此,像素2亮度的变化是由与其对应的等效距离和电源线1中的电流值共同决定的。
因此,可预先设置一个的阈值,当电源线1中的电流值(即以上最大电流)不超出阈值时,则说明与该电源线1相连的像素2的亮度不均匀并不明显,无需进行补偿;而当电源线1中的电流值超出该阈值时,则说明与该电源线1相连的像素2的亮度不均匀比较严重,应进行补偿,即此时不再向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供原数据电压Vdata,而是向其提供减去补偿电压ΔV的补偿数据电压Vdata’=Vdata-ΔV。
而由于压降也与等效距离成正比,故在对像素2进行补偿时,其中对应等效距离越大的像素2对应的补偿值也应越大。
本实施例的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法中,当电源线1中的电流过大(即与电源线1相连的像素2亮度不均比较明显)时,则对像素2的数据电压进行补偿,改变实际的数据电压,而其中距离电源3越远的像素2原本的电源电压压降越大,故其对应的补偿电压也越大,这样最终可保证像素2的实际亮度基本不变,消除亮度不均匀的现象。
优选的,作为本实施例的一种方式,电流值为一帧画面中,电源线1在电源3与第一个像素2间的部分中的电流的平均值;向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供原数据电压包括:在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线1相连的全部像素2提供原数据电压;向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供补偿数据电压包括:在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线1相连的全部像素2提供补偿数据电压。
在实际显示中,相邻帧的画面通常有一定连续性,即一帧画面中某部分的亮度(即相应电源线1中的电流值)通常与前一帧画面中相同部分的亮度不会相差太多。因此,可用本帧画面中电源线1的平均电流值作为判断下一帧画面中是否要进行补偿的依据,若本帧画面中一电源线1的平均电流值超过阈值,则在下一帧画面中对提供给与该电源线1相连的全部像素2的数据电压都应进行补偿,这样有利于减少对电流的判断次数。
优选的,作为本实施例的另一种方式,电流值为电源线1中实时的电流值(即以上最大电流),且与一电源线1相连的各像素2分别与不同的栅极线4相连;向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供原数据电压包括:向与该电源线1相连的下一个像素2提供原数据电压;向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供补偿数据电压包括:向与该电源线1相连的下一个像素2提供补偿数据电压。
在有机发光二极管显示面板中,通过栅极线4的扫描依次向不同像素2提供数据电压,故若连接在一条电源线1上的多个像素2与不同栅极线4相连,则这些像素2的数据电压也是在不同时刻分别提供。因此,可实时检测电源线1中的电流值,并根据该电流值确定是否向下一个像素2(即与下一条被扫描到的栅极线4相连的像素2)提供补偿数据电压,这样的方式能更准确的体现补偿是否必要。
其中,以上描述中的“获取电源线1中的电流值”是指要通过一定的手段获知电源线1中的电流值,其并不一定是直接检测电源线1中的电流值。
优选的,作为本实施例的一种方式,电流值根据与电源线1相连的像素2的灰阶值计算得到。
显然,在显示时,驱动芯片先要将原始图像(即有机发光二极管显示面板所要显示的图像)信息转换为每个像素2的灰阶值(或者说亮度值),而灰阶值与相应像素2中的电流值对应。因此,在任意时刻,与一条电源线1相连的各像素2当前正在显示的灰阶值是可知的,而通过这些灰阶值即可计算出这些像素2中的总电流,也就是该电源线1中的电流值(即以上最大电流)。也就是说,可根据原始图像信息最终计算的到电源线中的电流值。
优选的,作为本实施例的另一种方式,电流值通过检测得到。
也就是说,可在各电源线1或电源3中设置检测电流的检测模块,从而通过检测的方式获得电源线1中的电流。
优选的,作为本实施例的一种方式,与像素i对应的补偿电压ΔVi根据以下公式计算:
ΔVi=I×di×ρ/A;其中I为与像素i相连的电源线1中的电流值,di为像素i对应的等效距离,ρ为电源线1材料的电阻率,A则为电源线1的横截面积。
在像素i中,流过驱动晶体管T1的电流与(VDDi-Vdatai)2成正比关系,其中VDDi为像素i实际的电源电压,Vdatai为其数据电压。当发生压降时实际的电源电压VDDi降低,故数据电压Vdatai也应有同等程度的降低以保证(VDDi-Vdatai)2的值不变。而电源电压VDDi的降低量即为压降,等于IRi,Ri为像素i到电源3间的电源线1的电阻,而根据电阻计算公式可知Ri=di×ρ/A,故补偿电压ΔVi应按照以上公式计算。
优选的,作为本实施例的另一种方式,电源线1沿列方向设置,与其相连的像素2位于多个不同行中;则与像素i对应的补偿电压ΔVi根据以下公式计算:ΔVi=I×[R1+ΔR×(n-1)];其中I为与像素i相连的电源线1中的电流值,R1为第1行像素2与电源3间的电源线1的电阻,ΔR两相邻行像素2间的电源线1的电阻,n为像素i所在的行数。
通常而言,任意两相邻行间的距离都是相等的,故若电源线1是如图1所示沿列方向设置的,则每增加一行其电阻也就会增加一个确定的量ΔR。因此,第n行像素2对应的电源线1的总电阻则应等于R1+ΔR×(n-1),故可通过以上公式计算此时的补偿电压ΔVi。
应当理解,电源线1中不同位置的电流实际是不同的,而以上计算均用其中的最大电流进行,这是为了简化计算过程而采用的近似方式,但并不影响本发明的实现。
当然,以上只是补偿电压计算方法的部分具体例子,而不是对本发明保护范围的限定。
实施例2:
如图1所示,本实施例提供一种有机发光二极管显示面板,其包括:
多条电源线1,每条电源线1连接多个像素2,且一端连接电源3;
电流获取单元,用于获取电源线1中的电流值,其中,电流值为电源线1在电源3与第一个像素2间的部分中的电流值,第一个像素2为与该电源线1相连的全部像素2中距离电源3最近的像素2;
比较单元,用于将电流值与预设的阈值比较;
数据电压提供单元,用于在一电源线1中的电流值小于或等于阈值时,向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供原数据电压;并在一电源线1中的电流值大于阈值时,向与该电源线1相连的像素2提供补偿数据电压,补偿数据电压等于原数据电压与补偿电压的差,在电流值相同的情况下,等效距离越大的像素2对应的补偿电压越大,等效距离为像素2沿与其相连的电源线1的轨迹到电源3距离。
优选的,电流值为一帧画面中,电源线1在电源3与第一个像素2间的部分中的电流的平均值;在一电源线1中的电流值小于或等于阈值时,数据电压提供单元用于在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线1相连的全部像素2提供原数据电压;在一电源线1中的电流值大于阈值时,数据电压提供单元用于在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线1相连的全部像素2提供补偿数据电压。
优选的,电流值为电源线1中实时的电流值,且与一电源线1相连的各像素2分别与不同的栅极线4相连;在一电源线1中的电流值小于或等于阈值时,数据电压提供单元用于向与该电源线1相连的下一个像素2提供原数据电压;在一电源线1中的电流值大于阈值时,数据电压提供单元用于向与该电源线1相连的下一个像素2提供补偿数据电压。
优选的,电流获取单元包括:电流计算模块,用于根据与电源线1相连的像素2的灰阶值计算得到电流值;或者,电流检测模块,用于检测电源线1中的电流值。
本实施例的有机发光二极管显示面板可执行以上的驱动方法,故其可降低显示的不均匀。
具体的,该有机发光二极管显示面板可为电子纸、手机、平板电脑、电视机、显示器、笔记本电脑、数码相框、导航仪等任何具有显示功能的产品或部件。
可以理解的是,以上实施方式仅仅是为了说明本发明的原理而采用的示例性实施方式,然而本发明并不局限于此。对于本领域内的普通技术人员而言,在不脱离本发明的精神和实质的情况下,可以做出各种变型和改进,这些变型和改进也视为本发明的保护范围。
Claims (10)
1.一种有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,所述有机发光二极管显示面板包括多条电源线,每条电源线连接多个像素,且一端连接电源,其特征在于,所述有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法包括:
获取电源线中的电流值,并将其与预设的阈值比较,所述电流值为电源线在电源与第一个像素间的部分中的电流值,所述第一个像素为与该电源线相连的全部像素中距离电源最近的像素;
当一电源线中的电流值小于或等于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压;
当一电源线中的电流值大于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压,所述补偿数据电压等于原数据电压与补偿电压的差,在电流值相同的情况下,等效距离越大的像素对应的补偿电压越大,所述等效距离为像素沿与其相连的电源线的轨迹到电源距离。
2.根据权利要求1所述的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,其特征在于,
所述电流值为一帧画面中,电源线在电源与第一个像素间的部分中的电流的平均值;
所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压包括:在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线相连的全部像素提供原数据电压;
所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压包括:在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线相连的全部像素提供补偿数据电压。
3.根据权利要求1所述的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,其特征在于,
所述电流值为所述电源线中实时的电流值,且与一电源线相连的各像素分别与不同的栅极线相连;
所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压包括:向与该电源线相连的下一个像素提供原数据电压;
所述向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压包括:向与该电源线相连的下一个像素提供补偿数据电压。
4.根据权利要求1所述的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,其特征在于,
所述电流值根据与电源线相连的像素的根据原始图像信息确定的灰阶值计算得到;
或者,
所述电流值通过检测得到。
5.根据权利要求1所述的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,其特征在于,与像素i对应的补偿电压ΔVi根据以下公式计算:
ΔVi=I×di×ρ/A;其中I为与像素i相连的电源线中的电流值,di为像素i对应的等效距离,ρ为电源线的材料的电阻率,A为电源线的横截面积。
6.根据权利要求1所述的有机发光二极管显示面板的驱动方法,其特征在于,
所述电源线沿列方向设置,与其相连的像素位于多个不同行中;则与像素i对应的补偿电压ΔVi根据以下公式计算:
ΔVi=I×[R1+ΔR×(n-1)];其中I为与像素i相连的电源线中的电流值,R1为第1行像素与电源间的电源线的电阻,ΔR两相邻行像素间的电源线的电阻,n为像素i所在的行数。
7.一种有机发光二极管显示面板,其特征在于,包括:
多条电源线,每条电源线连接多个像素,且一端连接电源;
电流获取单元,用于获取电源线中的电流值,所述电流值为电源线在电源与第一个像素间的部分中的电流值,所述第一个像素为与该电源线相连的全部像素中距离电源最近的像素;
比较单元,用于将所述电流值与预设的阈值比较;
数据电压提供单元,用于在一电源线中的电流值小于或等于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供原数据电压;并在一电源线中的电流值大于所述阈值时,向与该电源线相连的像素提供补偿数据电压,所述补偿数据电压等于原数据电压与补偿电压的差,在电流值相同的情况下,等效距离越大的像素对应的补偿电压越大,所述等效距离为像素沿与其相连的电源线的轨迹到电源距离。
8.根据权利要求7所述的有机发光二极管显示面板,其特征在于,
所述电流值为一帧画面中,电源线在电源与第一个像素间的部分中的电流的平均值;
在一电源线中的电流值小于或等于所述阈值时,所述数据电压提供单元用于在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线相连的全部像素提供原数据电压;
在一电源线中的电流值大于所述阈值时,所述数据电压提供单元用于在下一帧画面中,向与该电源线相连的全部像素提供补偿数据电压。
9.根据权利要求7所述的有机发光二极管显示面板,其特征在于,
所述电流值为所述电源线中实时的电流值,且与一电源线相连的各像素分别与不同的栅极线相连;
在一电源线中的电流值小于或等于所述阈值时,所述数据电压提供单元用于向与该电源线相连的下一个像素提供原数据电压;
在一电源线中的电流值大于所述阈值时,所述数据电压提供单元用于向与该电源线相连的下一个像素提供补偿数据电压。
10.根据权利要求7所述的有机发光二极管显示面板,其特征在于,所述电流获取单元包括:
电流计算模块,用于根据与电源线相连的像素的根据原始图像信息确定的灰阶值计算得到所述电流值;
或者,
电流检测模块,用于检测电源线中的电流值。
