Abstract

在很多喷墨型分配器中,油墨或其它打印流体通过容器被供应到打印头,该容器被维持在轻微的内部真空下以帮助防止打印流体从容器中泄漏。在喷墨打印流体容器中的这个内部真空常常被称为“背压”。该容器可以与打印头成一整体或与打印头分离。

具体实施方式
喷墨打印流体容器可能在制造、存储和运送期间以及在打印操作期间受到各种各样的环境条件影响。一些环境条件会引起在容器内部的高压力。例如,在低温下结冰的打印流体可以膨胀以使容器加压,从而引起流体泄漏以及甚至部件损坏。当结冰的打印流体解冻时,来自残存的空气的压力可以进一步加压力于容器。高海拔和高温环境可以引起类似地高的、可能有害的内部压力。
本公开内容提供可以减小过多的内部压力的风险的容器的示例。在一个示例中,容器利用在流体容器内部的不受限制的、无弹性的、能够膨胀的且能够收缩的袋来帮助吸收大的压力偏离。袋的内部与大气相通,从而使袋在正常条件下被充气到完全膨胀,其中在流体室内部维持小的背压。能够收缩的袋可以通过提供用于使空气和冰膨胀的空间来减轻在室内部的过多压力。一旦室达到正压,具有小的或无形状记忆的无弹性袋就可以开始放气并收缩,从而保持室内部处于大气压下或接近大气压,直到袋被完全放气为止。
与用于调节背压的弹簧袋(spring bag)和弹性气球不同,在一些示例中,本公开内容的袋可以被构造为在正常条件下对室内部的压力没有可察觉的影响。非内含性的空白空间(没有袋)具有比通风的袋更低的可压缩性。在室内部的压力可以升高,甚至是在空白空间被消耗时。相比之下,针对通风的袋,在室内部的压力可以不增加,直到袋完全收缩为止。因此,可能需要更多的非内含性空白空间来实现与通风的袋相同的保护。相应地,通风的袋可以例如允许较高的流体填充水平。
如本文档中所使用的“打印流体”意指适合于在喷墨型分配器中使用的流体。“打印流体”不限于油墨,但也包括可以在喷墨型分配器中使用的和/或用于除了打印图像以外的用途的其它流体,包括例如从在一些数字滴定机器中使用的喷墨型分配器分配的3D打印剂和药剂。

图1A和图1B示出了实施新压力偏离袋的一个示例的打印流体容器。参考图1A和1B,容器10包括限定用于保持打印流体16的内部室4的壳体12。无弹性的、能够充气的且能够放气的袋18占据室14中的空间。袋18可以在室14内部膨胀和收缩。袋18的外部20暴露于室14内部的环境。袋18的内部22针对室14内部的环境进行密封并通过容器壳体12中的开口24与大气相通。图1A示出了在正常条件下的容器10,其中打印流体16是液体并且室14处于弱背压下,从而使袋18被充气到全膨胀。图1B示出了在异常条件下的容器10,其中打印流体16结冰并膨胀以提升室14中的压力并使袋18放气和收缩。
袋18的体积可以是不受限制的,除了受到室14内部的环境条件限制以外。袋18本身可以被构造成提供对膨胀/充气和收缩/放气的可忽略的阻力。袋18的外部可能能够经得起对打印流体16的长时间的暴露。用于构造袋18的适合的材料可以包括例如覆盖在EVOH(乙烯-乙烯醇)上的聚乙烯防护物、金属箔或其它蒸汽屏障。
现在参考图2-5中所示的多室打印流体容器,在这个示例中,容器10包括限定用于保持打印流体16的内部室14A和14B的壳体12。非弹性的、能够膨胀的且能够收缩的压力偏离袋18占据在每个室14A、14B中的空间。袋18的外部20(图8A、8B)暴露于室4内部的环境。每个袋18的内部22(图8A、8B)对于相应的室14A、14B内部的环境是密封的并且通过容器壳体12中的开口24与大气相通。在所示示例中,每个袋18紧靠分离两个室的隔离物位于板上,并通过壳体的顶部相通。其它构造是可能的。例如,袋18可以在每个室中位于板外并通过壳体的侧面相通。
供应室14B从储备室14A接收打印流体16并将打印流体16供应到打印头或其它下游部件。调节器28控制打印流体16从储备室14A流动到供应室14B,并帮助调节在室14A和14B两者中的压力。调节器28包括空气阀30、打印流体阀32和用于控制阀30的致动器34,其中,空气穿过空气阀30在室14A与14B之间移动,打印流体16穿过打印流体阀32从室14A流到室14B。在图6A和6B的截面中详细看到空气阀30。在图7A和7B的截面中详细看到打印流体阀32。
现在还参考图6A、6B和7A、7B,致动器34(图3和4)包括通过导管38(图4)与大气相通的能够膨胀的、能够收缩的袋36和紧靠袋36偏置的弹簧杆40。当打印流体被消耗并且在供应室14B中的打印流体16的体积减小时,在室14A和14B中的背压(真空)增加,直到通过通风孔38作用于袋36上的大气压力克服弹簧杆40的偏置力以使袋36膨胀并打开阀30为止,如最好通过比较图6A和6B所看到的。外部空气可以接着通过导管42、打开的空气阀300和空气口44进入储备室14A,如由图6B中的空气流箭头46所指示的。由此产生的在储备室14A中的压力增加使打印流体阀32打开,如最好通过比较图7A和7B看到的。打印流体16通过打开的打印流体阀32从储备室14A流到供应室14B中,如由图7B中的打印流体流箭头48所指示的,减小在室14B中的背压(真空),直到调节器袋36在弹簧杆40的推进下收缩且阀30关闭为止。

如以上所提到的,每个偏离袋18本身构造成提供对膨胀/充气和收缩/放气的可忽略的阻力。喷墨打印流体容器通常用例如在0inH2O到-15inH2O刻度(gage)的范围内的轻微的背压来进行操作。因此,在正常操作压力的这个范围内,与大气相通的压力偏离袋18将充气到完全膨胀并将保持被充分充气,直到在容器内部的压力超过0刻度(大气压力)为止。如果在容器内部的压力上升到0刻度以上,则袋18将开始放气并收缩以在容器内部产生更多的空间用于使空气和/或流体膨胀,从而减轻压力的任何进一步增加,直到袋完全放气为止。
虽然在每个室14A和14B中示出单个压力偏离袋18,但其它构造是可能的。例如,在一些实施方式中有在仅仅一个室14A、14B中的压力偏离袋18或有在一个或两个室14A和14B中的多个袋18可能是合乎需要的。另外,压力偏离袋的使用不限于单室容器,例如图1中所示的容器10,或双室容器,例如图2-5中所示的容器,但可以在其它类型的打印流体容器中实施。

Claims (15)
1.一种打印流体容器,包括:
室,其用于保持打印流体;以及
无弹性的、能够膨胀的且能够收缩的袋,其占据所述室中的空间,所述袋的外部暴露于所述室的内部,并且所述袋的内部对于所述室的所述内部是密封的并且是与大气相通的。
2.根据权利要求1所述的容器,其中,当在所述室内部的压力小于0刻度时,所述袋是能够充分膨胀的。
3.根据权利要求1所述的容器,其中,除了受到流体压力的限制以外,所述袋的体积在所述室中是不受限制的。
4.根据权利要求1所述的容器,其中,所述袋在高于0刻度的所述室内部的压力下是能够放气的。
5.根据权利要求1所述的容器,包括在所述室中的打印流体。
6.一种打印流体容器,包括:
室,其用于保持打印流体;以及
在所述室内部的能够充气和能够放气的空气袋,当在所述室内部的压力为0inH2O到-15inH2O时,所述空气袋是能够充分充气的。
7.根据权利要求6所述的容器,其中,所述袋在高于0刻度的所述室内部的压力下是能够放气的。
8.根据权利要求7所述的容器,其中,所述袋是无弹性的。

11.一种打印流体容器,包括:

12.根据权利要求11所述的容器,包括占据所述第二室中的空间并与大气相通的第二无弹性的、能够膨胀的且能够收缩的袋。
13.根据权利要求11所述的容器,其中,当在所述第一室内部的压力小于0刻度时,所述第一袋是能够充分膨胀的。
14.根据权利要求11所述的容器,其中,除了受到流体压力的限制以外,所述第一袋的体积在所述室中是不受限制的。
15.根据权利要求11所述的容器,包括在所述第一室和所述第二室中的打印流体。
