The invention provides a video playing method and a player, and relates to the technical field of multimedia. The video playing method comprises the following steps: the player captures a face image in the video image; determining a role name corresponding to the face image; and identifying the role name at the corresponding position of the face image in the video. A flow chart of one embodiment of a video playback method of the present invention is shown in fig. 1.
In step 101, the player captures a face image in a video image.
