The method and the device compare the network parameters of the router hotspot and the mobile terminal hotspot, analyze the difference between the network parameters of the router hotspot and the mobile terminal hotspot, judge whether the mobile terminal is connected with the router hotspot or the mobile terminal hotspot according to the network parameters after the mobile terminal is connected with the WIFI hotspot, and make up the technical blank that the WIFI hotspot type cannot be identified in the prior art. Furthermore, according to the identified WIFI hotspot type, the task currently executed by the mobile terminal can be processed, and the waste of the flow of the mobile terminal of the user caused by the connection of the mobile terminal hotspot is avoided.

In order to avoid that the mobile terminal executes a task generating larger flow when the mobile terminal is connected to the mobile terminal hotspot from the router hotspot, the currently executed task is suspended before the WIFI hotspot is connected, namely in the process of trying to connect the WIFI hotspot; and after the type of the WIFI hotspot is identified according to the network parameter, resuming or continuing to suspend the task according to the type of the WIFI hotspot. Further, if the type of the WIFI hotspot is identified as a mobile terminal hotspot, the currently executed preset task is resumed or continuously suspended according to user operation; and if the type of the WIFI hotspot is identified to be a router hotspot, recovering the preset task currently being executed. The user can preset tasks needing to be suspended when the WIFI hotspot changes.
For example: setting the uploading and downloading tasks as tasks needing to be suspended when the WIFI hotspot changes; the mobile terminal is disconnected with the currently connected WIFI hotspot, the uploading and downloading tasks which are executed are suspended when trying to connect other WIFI hotspots, after the other WIFI hotspots are connected, the type of the WIFI hotspot is judged according to network parameters, if the WIFI hotspot is a router hotspot, the uploading and downloading tasks are resumed, if the WIFI hotspot is a mobile terminal hotspot, the uploading and downloading tasks are resumed under the condition that the user chooses to resume the suspending, and the uploading and downloading tasks are resumed under the condition that the user chooses to resume the tasks.
After the type of the WIFI hotspot is identified according to the network parameters, a WIFI hotspot type prompt can be provided for a user according to the identified type of the WIFI hotspot. For example: and displaying a 'mobile terminal connected router hotspot' or a 'mobile terminal connected mobile terminal hotspot' in the mobile terminal.
