Abstract

本发明公开一种插头连接器及电子总成。插头连接器适于耦接于插座连接器。插头连接器包括绝缘本体、多个端子及金属壳体。这些端子固持于绝缘本体。金属壳体包围绝缘本体及这些端子并具有插接端。绝缘本体与金属壳体构成插槽,以适于与插座连接器的舌部耦接。这些端子延伸至插槽内。绝缘本体从金属壳体内向外延伸至插接端,以覆盖插接端的至少一部分。此外,电子总成包括电子装置及上述的插座连接器。

插头连接器及电子总成
技术领域
本发明涉及一种电连接器,且特别是涉及一种插头电连接器及采用其的电子总成。
背景技术
“通用串行总线”(Universal Serial Bus,简称USB)是一种标准的连接器界面,以其随插即用的高便利性,广泛地普及于各式各样的电子产品上,例如电脑主机、笔记型电脑、随身盘、外接式存储硬盘等。为因应电子产品的体积薄型化,目前USB的规格从标准USB(Standard USB)演变至体积较小的迷你USB(Mini USB),甚至更演变有比迷你USB(MiniUSB)体积更小的微型USB(Micro USB),以便于应用至薄型化的电子产品上。
以Micro USB的插头连接器为例,插头连接器通常具有绝缘本体、多个固持于绝缘本体内的端子及包覆绝缘本体的金属壳体。然而,在将插头连接器对应耦接于电子装置的插座连接器的过程中,插头连接器的金属壳体的边缘容易刮伤电子装置的装饰外壳。这样的情况对于使用者或维修者而言都是不期望的,特别是维修时可能因此而增加维修成本。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种插头连接器,用以防止刮伤电子装置的装饰外壳。
本发明另一目的在于提供一种电子总成,用以防止其插头连接器刮伤其电子装置的装饰外壳。
本发明的一种插头连接器,适于耦接于插座连接器。插头连接器包括绝缘本体、多个端子及金属壳体。这些端子固持于绝缘本体。金属壳体包围绝缘本体及这些端子并具有插接端。绝缘本体与金属壳体构成插槽,以适于与插座连接器的舌部耦接。这些端子延伸至插槽内。绝缘本体从金属壳体内向外延伸至插接端,以覆盖插接端的至少一部分。
本发明的一种电子总成,包括电子装置及上述的插座连接器。
基于上述,在本发明中,将插头连接器的绝缘本体延伸至覆盖金属壳体的插接端,使得插接端不会直接接触电子装置的装饰外壳,因而避免金属壳体的插接端刮伤电子装置的装饰外壳。
为让本发明的上述特征和优点能更明显易懂,下文特举实施例,并配合所附的附图作详细说明如下。

具体实施方式
请参考图1、图2及图3,插头连接器100适于耦接于对应规格的插座连接器(如图4所示的插头连接器52)。插头连接器100的规格可以是标准USB(Standard USB)、迷你USB(Mini USB)或微型USB(Micro USB),而各USB的型态可包括type A、type B或type C。然而,在其他实施例中,本发明也可应用于其他具有类似构造的插头连接器。下文将以Micro USB的插头连接器为例进行说明。
插头连接器100包括绝缘本体110、多个端子120及金属壳体130。这些端子120固持于绝缘本体110,用以接触对应规格的插座连接器的端子。金属壳体130包围绝缘本体110及这些端子120,并与绝缘本体110构成插槽140,以适于与插座连接器的舌部(如图4所示的插头连接器52的舌部52a)耦接。这些端子120延伸至插槽140内。
在本实施例中,绝缘本体110具有保护部112,金属壳体130具有插接端132,而绝缘本体110的保护部112从金属壳体130内向外延伸至插接端132,以覆盖插接端132的至少一部分。
请参考图1及图4,在使用者将插头连接器100对应耦接于已设置在电子装置50内的插座连接器52而构成电子总成的过程中,绝缘本体110的保护部112延伸至覆盖插接端132,特别是覆盖插接端132的转角部位或尖锐部位。具体而言,金属壳体130的形状呈中空扁平状而具有相对的一对侧缘,且金属壳体130的各侧缘的一端构成插接端132的转角。
在本实施例中,保护部112在结构上形成自绝缘本体110的一部分。在另一实施例中,保护部112可在结构上独立于该绝缘本体110。因此,金属壳体130的插接端132的转角部位或尖锐部位不会直接接触到电子装置50的装饰外壳51,而是通过绝缘本体110的保护部112延伸至插接端132来接触电子装置50的装饰外壳51。由于保护部112的硬度小于金属壳体130的硬度,故可避免金属壳体130的插接端132刮伤电子装置50的装饰外壳51。
在本实施例中,可将金属壳体130的插接端132向后退缩一小段距离而形成一个很小的空间,且绝缘本体110的保护部112延伸至上述所形成的很小的空间,使得延伸至插接端132的保护部112与插接端132齐平,以符合对应的规格。
综上所述,在本发明中,将插头连接器的绝缘本体的保护部延伸至覆盖金属壳体的插接端,使得插接端不会直接接触电子装置的装饰外壳,因而避免金属壳体的插接端刮伤电子装置的装饰外壳。
虽然结合以上实施例公开了本发明,然而其并非用以限定本发明,任何所属技术领域中具有通常知识者,在不脱离本发明的精神和范围内,可作些许的更动与润饰,故本发明的保护范围应当以附上的权利要求所界定的为准。

Claims (7)

1.一种插头连接器,适于耦接于插座连接器,其特征在于,该插头连接器包括:
绝缘本体,具有保护部,其中该保护部在结构上形成自该绝缘本体的一部分;
多个端子,固持于该绝缘本体;以及
金属壳体,包围该绝缘本体及该些端子并具有插接端,其中该绝缘本体与该金属壳体构成插槽,以适于与该插座连接器的舌部耦接,该些端子延伸至该插槽内,该绝缘本体的该保护部从该金属壳体内向外延伸至该插接端,以覆盖该插接端的至少一部分,该绝缘本体的该保护部延伸至该插接端的部分覆盖该插接端的转角,且该插槽在沿着该插座连接器的***方向的尺寸不变。
2.如权利要求1所述的插头连接器,其中该保护部的硬度小于该金属壳体的硬度。
3.如权利要求1所述的插头连接器,其中该金属壳体的形状呈中空扁平状而具有相对的一对侧缘,且该金属壳体的各该侧缘的一端构成该插接端的转角。
4.如权利要求1所述的插头连接器,其中该绝缘本体的该保护部延伸至该插接端的部分与该插接端齐平。
5.如权利要求1所述的插头连接器,其中该插头连接器的规格是标准USB、迷你USB或微型USB。
6.如权利要求5所述的插头连接器,其中各该USB的型态包括type A、type B或type C。
7.一种电子总成,其特征在于,该电子总成包括:
电子装置,具有插座连接器:以及
插头连接器,耦接于该插座连接器并包括:
绝缘本体,具有保护部,其中该保护部在结构上形成自该绝缘本体的一部分;
多个端子,固持于该绝缘本体;以及
金属壳体,包围该绝缘本体及该些端子并具有插接端,其中该绝缘本体与该金属壳体构成插槽,以与该插座连接器的舌部耦接,该些端子延伸至该插槽内,该绝缘本体的该保护部从该金属壳体内向外延伸至该插接端,以覆盖该插接端的至少一部分,该绝缘本体的该保护部延伸至该插接端的部分覆盖该插接端的转角,且该插槽在沿着该插座连接器的***方向的尺寸不变。
