本发明的组合物可包含其他活性成分,例如消泡剂和乳化剂。本发明的杀微生物组合物通过向经受微生物攻击的水性介质中引入杀微生物有效量的所述组合物可用于抑制微生物或更高等形式水生生物(例如原生动物、无脊椎动物、苔藓虫类、沟鞭藻类、甲壳动物、软体动物等)的生长。合适的水性介质见于以下中,例如:工业生产用水;电涂层沉积***;冷却塔;空气洗涤器;气体洗涤塔;矿物浆料;废水处理;观赏性喷泉;逆渗透过滤;超滤;压载水;蒸发冷凝器;热交换器;纸浆及纸加工流体和添加剂;淀粉;塑料;乳液;分散体;漆料;乳胶;涂料,例如清漆;建筑用产品,例如胶泥(mastic)、填缝剂和密封剂;建筑用粘合剂,例如陶瓷粘合剂、地毯背衬粘合剂和层压粘合剂;工业用或消费者用粘合剂;摄影用化学品;印刷用流体;家用产品,例如浴室和厨房清洁剂;化妆品;洗漱用品;洗发剂;肥皂;个人护理产品,例如湿巾、洗液、防晒品、调理剂、霜以及其他免洗型应用;洗涤剂;工业用清洁剂;地板抛光剂;洗衣漂洗水;金属加工流体;传送机润滑剂;液压流体;皮革及皮革产品;织物;纺织品;木材及木材产品,例如胶合板、木屑板(chipboard)、碎料板(flakeboard)、叠层梁、定向刨花板(oriented strandboard)、硬纸板和芯板材(particleboard);石油加工流体;燃料;油田用流体,例如注射水、压裂液和钻探泥浆;农业辅助剂保存;表面活性剂保存;医疗装置;诊断试剂保存;食品保存,例如;塑料或纸质食品包装;食品、饮料和工业生产巴氏灭菌器;抽水马桶;娱乐用水;水池;以及矿泉。
在应用中抑制或控制微生物生长所必需的本发明杀微生物组合物的具体量将改变。典型地,如果本发明组合物的量提供1,000至20,000ppm(百万分率)的所述组合物的活性成分,则其足以控制微生物的生长。优选地,所述组合物的活性成分(即,非离子表面活性剂和苯氧乙醇)以至少2,000ppm,优选至少3,000ppm,优选至少4,000ppm的量存在于待处理的介质中。优选地,所述组合物的活性成分以以下量存在于所在介质:不超过16,000ppm,优选不超过14,000ppm,优选不超过12,000ppm,优选不超过10,000ppm,优选不超过8,000ppm,优选不超过7,000ppm。在本发明的方法中,通过同时或单独添加将产生上述浓度的量的非离子表面活性剂和苯氧乙醇来处理组合物以抑制微生物生长。
实例
通过确定组合的协同指数(synergy index,S.I.)来评价表面活性剂和杀生物剂的协同作用。基于两种抗微生物化合物(A和B)单独和组合时的最小抑制浓度(minimuminhibitory concentration,MIC)来计算协同指数。受试生物为革兰氏阴性细菌(绿脓杆菌(Pseudomonas aeruginosa)ATCC#15442)、***(金黄色葡萄球菌(Staphylococcus aureus)ATCC#6538)、酵母(白念珠菌(Candida albicans)ATCC#10203)和霉菌(黑曲霉(Aspergillus niger)ATCC#16404)。细菌的接触时间为24和48小时,酵母为48和72小时,并且霉菌为3和7天。在96孔微量滴定板中进行测试。

用于证明MIC组合的协同作用的测试结果示于以下表格中。每个表格示出了两种组分之组合随着孵育时间抵抗受试微生物的结果;通过MIC以ppm测量的化合物A单独(CA)、组分B单独(CB)和混合物((Ca)和(Cb))的终点活性;计算的SI值;以及每个受试组合的协同比的范围。SI如下计算:

稳定性测试
制备苯甲酸钠或山梨酸钾于水中的溶液且用表面活性剂稀释获得所要的杀生物剂比表面活性剂的比率。根据需要,再添加70%异丙醇以得到苯氧乙醇的33重量%溶液。将试样分配到三个小瓶中。将一个小瓶储存在室温下,一个储存在40℃下并且一个储存在50℃下。一周后,对试样进行评价以确定稳定性。混浊或高度变色的样品判断为不稳定。在数据表中,破折号表示配制物是稳定的。

Claims (6)
1.一种协同性杀微生物组合物,其包含:(a)具有以下结构的非离子表面活性剂:
R1O(CH2CH(CH3)O)5(CH2CH2O)9H
其中R1是C8烷基;和(b)苯氧乙醇;其中所述非离子表面活性剂与苯氧乙醇的重量比为1:1至1:18.2766,其中所述C8烷基是2-乙基己基。
2.一种用于在水性介质中抑制微生物生长的方法;所述方法包括向所述水性介质添加:(a)具有以下结构的非离子表面活性剂:
R1O(CH2CH(CH3)O)5(CH2CH2O)9H
其中R1是C8烷基;和(b)苯氧乙醇;其中所述非离子表面活性剂与苯氧乙醇的重量比为1:1至1:18.2766,其中所述C8烷基是2-乙基己基。
3.一种协同性杀微生物组合物,其包含:(a)具有以下结构的非离子表面活性剂:
R2O(CH2CH(CH3)O)3(CH2CH2O)xH
其中R2是C8-C14直链烷基混合物并且x是5至7的整数;和(b)苯氧乙醇;其中所述非离子表面活性剂与苯氧乙醇的重量比为1:0.1999至1:36.5897,其中所述C8-C14直链烷基混合物包含60重量%至75重量%的C8-C10直链烷基和25重量%至40重量%的C12-C14直链烷基。
4.根据权利要求3所述的协同性杀微生物组合物,其中x是5。
5.根据权利要求3所述的协同性杀微生物组合物,其中x是7,并且所述重量比为1:0.7996至1:27.4377。
6.一种用于在水性介质中抑制微生物生长的方法;所述方法包括向所述水性介质添加:(a)具有以下结构的非离子表面活性剂:
