Technical field
The present invention relates generally to protective plant propagating materials not by the water-based seed treatment formulations of pest attack.
Background technology
The practice using pesticidal preparations process seed or other plant propagation material is known.Insecticide and fungicide are applied to seed with the whole development of plants protecting them in soil in early days from insect.Usual use two kinds of pesticidal preparations: wetting powder and aqueous suspension agent.
The seed treatment formulations of business needs special equipment suitably to apply the seed of they or process large volume.Described seed-treating apparatus (subprocessors) in conjunction with commercially available preparation to prepare agricultural-chemical suspension liquid. The example of subprocessors comprises Gustafson rH-24, hC3000 etc.The pesticidal preparations of business is formulated into suspending concentrate usually.Subprocessors is also for being added into sticker, binding agent, polymer and/or colouring agent in agricultural-chemical suspension liquid with lifting operation and safety.Described additive reduction is dusted, and described colouring agent makes agriculturist watch out for this chemical treatment.
Can be used on the quantity of per unit seed additive in seed application and the amount of agricultural chemicals is limited to the dressing and dry technology that can be used for business seed-treating apparatus. The fluid of each crops only adsorbable limited amount, exceeding this amount seed can not carry out suitable drying and/or process in seed processing equipment or plantation equipment.
In addition, many existing preparations comprise low-molecular-weight (LMW) surfactant of high concentration. These LMW surfactants of usual interpolation are with the dispersion of stable agricultural chemicals and provide the suspension of stable pumpable easily to be used by processor.A problem relevant to LMW surfactant is that the known pressure that they are increased on seed also can reduce germination.
In addition, known some insecticide for having relatively high water-soluble and/or lower fusing point is difficult to obtain stable aqueous formulation.Metalaxyl (fusing point 63-72 DEG C technical grade, water-soluble 8400ppm) is exactly so a kind of chemical substance.Obtain stable metalaxyl aqueous suspension preparation very challenging, because the method do not had crystallizes out again to prevent this chemical substance, cause physical instability in storage process.
Another problem of the mixture of ad hoc agricultural chemicals, polymer, colouring agent and other additive is used to be the agricultural chemicals and the additive that multiple application are needed to deposition and dry aequum on seed.Suitable adhesion is necessary for multiple application.
Except consuming time, the safety of these application mix things is unknown with uncertain often.Usually, need filler, such as talcum powder, to reduce phytotoxicity or to promote seed drying and handling property. As a result, process becomes difficulty, and the biological effect of seed treatment reduces.
All-embracing preparation in the art for instant and effective plant-less toxicity is still needed agricultural chemicals to be adhered to seed and eliminates the needs to being added further by subprocessors in binding agent or polymer to described application mix thing.Ideally, such preparation can in single application in continuous fluid processing and without the need to filler or anti-blocking (anti-blocking) powder.

In a preferred embodiment, described pectination branch graft copolymer is 2500 (about 35% graft copolymer solution, from HuntsmanCorp.)
pVA-graft copolymer combines
Collaborative PVA and the combination of graft copolymer are the mixtures of these two kinds of polymer. The combination of PVA-graft copolymer is used to have many good qualities.
First, the coated insecticide that uses in the formulation of described combination of polymers the protective layer between insecticide and seed is provided. This protective layer reduces any phytotoxicity that insecticide can have.
Secondly, the water soluble polymer material used in invention formulation provides slower absorption and transfer for insecticide enters in seed.Prior art preparation uses composition to enter absorption in seed and transfer to strengthen insecticide usually. But, absorb any toxicity can aggravated surfactant and insecticide and may have fast, thus reduce and germinate.
In addition, described PVA-graft copolymer combination is very soluble in water and is safe to seed. The seed coated with film formed by preparation of the present invention can easily by soil moisture again hydration.Described film does not work as limiting factor to the transport in seed at moisture. The normal hydrophilic layer of seed is retained and remains on the governing factor in neutron absorption moisture. Therefore, good seed sprouting and dressing adhesion is maintained.
Moreover described PVA-graft copolymer combination is compatible with the dispersant system used in many commercial polymer emulsions. This compatibility allows to be directly incorporated in seed treatment formulations by polymer emulsion in the preparation not lose stability.
plasticizer
As used herein, term " plasticizer " refers to the material of the film produced by described preparation for modification, dry faster to allow, and gives higher water sensitivity and do not need to damage the viscosity of seed in the mobility processed and in plantation equipment.

polymer emulsion
When adhesion requirements height maybe when needs high coverage rate, the polymer emulsion (or latex) that can add based on polyvinyl acetate and/or ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer adheres to and seed outward appearance to improve.
The advantage of invention formulation is them is " all-embracing ", and namely they allow to add polymer emulsion when prepared by preparation, instead of add them at application site. Therefore, do not sacrifice parcel stability and do not damage the absorption of seed moisture content.
The polymer emulsion that can be used in invention formulation is stable by PVA, and is therefore that PVA is compatible.Polymer emulsion can be added in preparation " dispersant shock (shock) " that do not cause and unwanted viscosity or gel can be caused to increase. In addition, because the stabilizing agent for preparation suspension and polymer emulsion or latex is similar, when they mix, dispersant does not peel off from latex particle or insecticide granule.Result obtains stable low viscosity mixtures. This mixture can on seed depositing biocides and polymer and do not need extra composition.
In addition, polymer emulsion can be used for preventing from around seed, form unwanted damp-proof layer.Usually, the film of the latex dispersions containing q.s PVA can again disperse in water. But when LMW surfactant is present in seed treatment formulations, their micella absorption PVA, consumes the PVA that can be used for wrapping up latex, polymer emulsion or insecticide granule. Therefore, the permanent not redispersible film as damp-proof layer can be formed.PVA-graft polymers is combined in around latex particle and forms protective layer. Then this protective layer can form the film suppressing described film to be formed or make it disperse again. Therefore, permanent damp-proof layer is not formed. Therefore, preparation of the present invention can be eliminated or alleviate the bad reaction to dispersion stabilization and seed sprouting of the LMW surfactant that exists in the prior art.
In a preferred embodiment, can use e-200 (CelaneseLtd.) polymer emulsion.
