Self-adjustable drum brake
Technical Field
The invention relates to a brake technology in an automobile brake system, in particular to a drum brake capable of self-adjusting.
Background
Automobiles are generally classified into two types, a disc brake and a drum brake. For a drum brake, the brake of an automobile is mainly realized by stepping on a brake pedal by a driver, transmitting brake hydraulic pressure to a slave cylinder, expanding brake shoes, and generating friction between the brake shoes and a brake drum to generate braking force. When the driver releases the brake pedal, the pressure in the brake cylinder disappears, and the brake shoe returns.
After a drum brake works for a period of time, the brake shoes are worn, and the gap between the brake shoes and the brake drum is increased, so that the gap needs to be adjusted. Drum brakes are generally classified into self-adjustable and non-self-adjustable configurations. For self-adjustable drum brakes, the clearance between the brake shoes and the brake drum can be automatically adjusted as the clearance increases.
