水平的虚线A表明在典型的密封过程期间,当可剥离的盖子利用平坦的冲压器从上方被放置在凸缘的上表面上时,事实上它只密封至在位置3和4处的凸缘的上表面。在箭头B和B’之间存在显著的“凹槽”,在该凹槽中空气会被存留在3和4处的两个密封部分之间,从而阻止此区域被适当地密封。因此,在可剥离的盖子与凸缘之间的整个密封区域中存在实质的削弱,这极大地减弱了剪切模式中的密封并且加大了密封经受蠕变的可能性。
将可剥离的盖子密封至包含向内突出的凸缘的金属罐的方法参考图3至图5现在将被描述,其能够使大体上连续的密封的构造跨过凸缘的径向方向上的长度以便获得更稳固的密封。这通过利用下述的冲压器而得到促进,该冲压器具有大体上V形的轮廓的接合表面以便抵着凸缘密封表面按压可剥离的盖子。冲压器的大体上V形的接合表面将可剥离的盖子与凸缘的上表面之间的存留空气的“气穴(pockets)”的尺寸减小甚至将其消除。
图2显示在金属罐的侧壁2的部分的截面以及在密封操作开始的时候的冲压器10,在密封操作中可剥离的盖子12被“冲压”到位。冲压器10具有大体上V形的接合表面11,该接合表面11与凸缘1的密封表面的大体上V形的轮廓基本一致。(可以理解的是,用于***罐主体中的冲压器10为大体上环形形状的,从而使得在使用中其围绕罐主体的内部圆周延伸用于与凸缘接合。)
在热密封过程期间,冲压器10利用力F将可剥离的盖子12向下按压在凸缘1上。密封初始地形成在点P处的凸缘1的径向方向上的长度的中间,在点P处冲压器10的尖端将可剥离的盖子12按压进入凸缘1的接合表面的凹槽中。然后,如图3所示,由于冲压器被向下按压在凸缘上,可剥离的盖子12采取冲压器10的V形的轮廓,密封形成在可剥离的盖子12与凸缘1之间。
密封利用位于可剥离的盖子与凸缘的凸起的上表面之间的热密封材料(例如热塑性材料)而制造。在完全的密封被制造为大体上跨过凸缘的整个径向方向上的长度之前,冲压器10的接合表面的V形的轮廓使得否则将被存留的任何空气从可剥离的盖子与每侧的凸缘的密封表面之间逸出。
如图4所示,凸缘的密封表面的形状还可以通过冲压器10所施加的压力而改变。这能够进一步地减少可剥离的盖子与凸缘的密封表面之间的非密封区域的长度。
图5显示了在可剥离的盖子12已经被热密封至凸缘1的密封表面并且冲压器10被撤走之后金属罐2的壁的截面。箭头S显示在凸缘的大部分径向方向上的长度上面形成的密封的实质上没有中断的宽度。
图6显示了储存奶粉16的金属罐15的截面。金属罐具有形成在罐壁2中的凸缘1。凸缘1提供密封表面,利用具有大体上V形的轮廓的接合表面的冲压器而使可剥离的盖子12已经被热密封至所述密封表面。可剥离的盖子12可以包含拉环,或者类似的结构,从而使得消费者通过将可剥离的盖子从凸缘揭开而能够更加容易地将其去除。罐设置有不可去除的基部或者“罐底部”17,其将在罐底端的开口密封。虽然在图6中没有示出,但是罐可以进一步地设置有可移除的塑料顶盖,该塑料顶盖放置在罐的顶端的开口上面。一旦密封已经被打破并且可剥离的盖子被移除,此塑料顶盖能够将罐再次封闭。
凸缘1在图6中显示为接近金属罐的开口端。然而凸缘可以形成在罐壁往下一点的位置,因此能够使密封将罐分隔为两个不同的部分。例如,被可剥离的盖子严密地密封的下部分可以容纳婴幼儿配方奶粉,上部分可以容纳勺状物或者匙状物。另外的凸缘可以设置为接近罐的顶部以便密封容纳有勺状物的罐的部分,从而确保在消费者打开和使用其之前其保持在无菌的环境中。
还可以在管状的罐主体(具有焊接的侧焊缝)的两个开口端部处形成凸缘,并且分别用可剥离的盖子封闭两端。
在用于例如本文描述的罐制造过程的期间,罐制造商可以制造在合适的位置带有可剥离的盖子但是在底端处于开口状态的管状的金属罐。带有分离的底端以及塑料顶盖的罐将然后被送至制造商的客户。然后,客户能够在通过将不可移除的罐底部接合在合适的位置而将罐密封之前通过开口的底部将产品填入罐。然后,塑料顶盖可以被放置在可剥离的盖子的上方的罐的顶端上。如果需要,在塑料顶盖被放在合适的位置之前,匙状物或者勺状物可以被放置在罐中可剥离的盖子的顶部。
图7显示了来自如上的金属罐15的立体图。此视图显示出凸缘1形成在罐壁2全长的部分下方的罐壁2中,并且凸缘围绕金属罐15的整个内圆周延伸。
应当清楚本领域技术人员可以对上述实施方案进行各种修改而不背离本发明的范围。例如,可剥离的盖子可以为塑料材料或者可以为包括陶瓷层(例如硅或者氧化铝而不是金属)的多层结构。
Claims (3)
1.一种将可剥离的盖子密封至沿着管状的金属罐主体在中间位置形成的周向的并且向内突出的凸缘的方法,其中,所述凸缘具有密封表面,该密封表面具有大体上V形的轮廓,当凸缘的初始的圆顶形上表面在中间部位向下弯曲时,所述大体上V形的轮廓产生,所述方法包括如下步骤:利用冲压器抵着凸缘的密封表面按压可剥离的盖子,所述冲压器的接合表面具有大体上V形的轮廓,从而使得冲压器的尖端将所述可剥离的盖子按压进入所述凸缘的密封表面的凹处。
2.根据权利要求1所述的将可剥离的盖子密封至沿着管状的金属罐主体在中间位置形成的周向的并且向内突出的凸缘的方法,其中,随着所述可剥离的盖子抵着所述凸缘被按压,热被施加至可剥离的盖子和/或所述凸缘。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的将可剥离的盖子密封至沿着管状的金属罐主体在中间位置形成的周向的并且向内突出的凸缘的方法,其中所述利用冲压器抵着所述凸缘的密封表面按压可剥离的盖子的步骤大体上消除来自可剥离的盖子与凸缘的密封表面之间的气穴。
