背景技术
所谓的气体内压法常用于生产包括中空区域或槽的模制部件。在该方法中,加压流体,典型地为氮气,被注射到注射模制工具的模腔中,在高压下,例如在50巴与300巴之间,该模腔未完全用熔体填充。氮气将熔体从模腔的中央挤压在所述模腔的壁上,从而制造出所需的空间。
在所谓的二次模腔法中,一个主模腔首先用熔体完全填充,并通过加压流体,例如通过氮气,随后将一部分熔体挤压进二次模腔,所述二次模腔与主模腔相连,从而所需的中空空间在主模腔中形成。

包括内冷却的气体内压工艺的方法在EP 1 259 368 B1中公开。在该方法中,当聚合物在模腔中冷却并硬化时,氮气被引导穿过塑料材料中的空间,从而促进冷却及硬化。
在100℃的温度和200巴的压力下,氮气的密度为166kg/cm3(kg/m3),在更低的压力下,密度明显更低。因此已经有人建议使用水代替氮气来冷却塑料材料。在100℃和200巴的所述条件下,水的密度为967kg/m3。除了更高的密度,水还具有比氮气更大的热容。在使用水作为冷却介质时可以达到的冷却效应相应地更大,并且用水可以实现的循环时间相应地更短。
然而,使用水具有许多缺点:生产的模制塑料部件必须在硬化后小心地进行干燥。另外,必须使用耐水解的特殊塑料种类。输送水的部件的泄露还经常导致严重的质量问题。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的是给出包含内冷却的改进的气体内压法。特别是,实现模腔中塑料熔体的迅速冷却。
该目的是通过用于生产模制部件的方法解决的,其中将熔融的聚合物引入到模制工具的模制空间中,并将加压流体供给到模制空间中,从而将聚合物挤压在模制空间的壁上,其特征在于,将具有至少150巴的压力、优选具有至少200巴或至少250巴的压力的液态二氧化碳用作加压流体。
具体实施方式
在本申请的上下文中,术语“模制工具”是用于注塑的工具,其包含模制空间,其适于生产塑料或金属模制部件,例如用于生产大量的塑料部件。为此目的,将液体塑料或液体聚合物在高压下注射进入该工具中,在一定时间后模制部件冷却,并从该工具中取出。
通常,模制工具由两个或多个工具部件组成,所述工具部件可以相互分离地运动或相互相对地运动,以便打开和闭合工具。
本发明涉及所谓的气体内压法。根据本发明,关闭模制工具,从而在模制工具的内部形成模制空间。将熔融聚合物引入或者注射进入模制工具的模制空间中。为了冷却熔体,根据本发明使用在至少150巴的高压下的液态二氧化碳。从而通过供给的二氧化碳的压力在熔体中形成空间。
二氧化碳的临界点处于约31.0℃的温度及73.8巴的压力。位于模制空间中的聚合物具有超过50℃的温度,通常甚至大幅超过100℃,因此在供给到模制空间后的二氧化碳通常邻近超临界状态。根据本发明,供给二氧化碳,其在进入到模制工具中之前以液态聚集态存在。在注入模制空间后,由于所述的温度比,二氧化碳一般转换到超临界状态。
已表明,在这些条件下,二氧化碳一方面具有非常好的热传导特性,另一方面还非常适于作为加压流体。由于二氧化碳,迅速并且有效地将熔融聚合物挤压在模制工具的内壁上,以便形成所需的模制部件。另外,由于从聚合物到二氧化碳的热传导高,因此待生产的模制部件迅速冷却,并且模制部件的内表面具有高的表面品质。除了良好的热传导率,超临界二氧化碳还具有高热容,从而实现聚合物的有效冷却。因此,本发明允许生产模制部件所需的时间的显著缩短。与将氮气用作加压流体和冷却介质的方法相比,循环时间即从将聚合物引入模制空间中直到将制成的模制部件从模制工具取出的时间显著缩短。
根据本发明的方法尤其可以有利地用于待生产的模制部件的内表面必须满足高品质要求时。因此,本发明优选用于制造管材,尤其是包含小的内截面的管或线,例如汽车业中的冷却管道。
出人意料地,在根据本发明的方法中,聚合物未在表面处起泡,并且获得表面品质,否则这只有在用水冷却时才能实现。然而,与用水冷却的情况不同,本发明具有很大的优点在于,模制部件不必在生产后干燥,并且根据本发明的方法适于所有通常用于注射模制成型的塑料和聚合物。不同地,只有特定的塑料可以借助水冷进行冷却,因为否则模制部件的表面会被水侵蚀。
液态二氧化碳优选在至少150巴、至少200巴或至少250巴的压力下被引入模制空间。其密度和热容还随着增加的压力而增加,因此实现甚至更有效的冷却。有利地,二氧化碳在最大300巴或350巴的压力下被引入模制空间,因为在更高的压力下会引发关于设备的困难和密度问题。
优选地,液态二氧化碳被用作加压流体,从而所述的特征“液态”涉及二氧化碳在引入模制空间之前的聚集态。将二氧化碳供给到用热的聚合物填充的模制空间之前,二氧化碳优选具有在15℃与30℃之间,更优选在15℃与25℃之间的温度。二氧化碳只有在与聚合物接触之后才受热,并从液态转化到超临界状态。
所生产的模制部件的品质取决于通过加压流体施加到熔体上的最大压力和压力分布,即至最大压力的压力改变过程。取决于模制空间的几何形状,取决于用于熔体和加压流体的注射机的布局、位置和具体装置,以及取决于所用的聚合物,有利的是,不立即在至少150巴的压力下将加压流体即二氧化碳供给到模制空间。
已表明,加压流体的流动速率和质量流量影响待生产的模制部件中的空腔的成型。在质量流量过大的情况下,或者在流动速率过高的情况下,在熔融的聚合物中会发生涡流,这妨碍了具有高表面品质的空腔的实现。
在一个优选的实施方案中,在供给加压流体之前,将成型流体供给到模制空间中,从而在聚合物中形成空腔,其中将密度小于500kg/m3,优选小于300kg/m3的二氧化碳用作成型流体。
在将熔融聚合物即熔体引入模制空间中后,首先供给成型流体,然后在至少150巴的高压下注射液态二氧化碳。在室温和150巴的压力下,液态二氧化碳的密度约为900kg/m3。不同地,将密度小于500kg/m3、优选小于300kg/m3的二氧化碳用作成型流体。在初始模制过程中,如此使用的成型流体的密度与在150巴下的加压流体即二氧化碳相比降低了一半或更多。从而,成型流体的质量流量也显著低于加压流体。通过降低质量流量,尽可能地避免了在模制空间中的熔融聚合物的涡流。在成型流体在熔体中形成空腔的情况下,可以实现根据本发明的加压流体的供给。
有利的是,在低于100巴、优选低于80巴、更优选低于60巴的压力下将气态二氧化碳作为成型流体供给。
在另一个优选的实施方案中,通过升温,相对于加压流体降低密度。在此情况下,将在超过150巴的压力和超过50℃、优选在50℃与150℃之间的温度下的二氧化碳用作成型流体。
在上述两个实施方案,即在使用低压下的二氧化碳和/或使用更高温度下的二氧化碳的情况下,与在室温和150巴的压力下的二氧化碳相比,成型流体具有大幅降低的密度,从而降低了质量流量,并且对于大多数部件而言避免了所述的涡流。
另外,已表明,可以通过升压的幅度和过程影响模制部件的品质。因此,成型流体的压力在供给成型流体的过程中有利地增加,从而使压力变化率小于50巴/秒,优选小于30巴/秒。例如,通过供给成型流体使模制空间或熔体中的压力各自在2至3秒内持续地升高至60巴、70巴或80巴。
本发明尤其适于根据二次模腔法或根据推回法生产模制部件。在二次模腔法的情况下,二次模腔与模制空间相连,其中模制工具用于模制和生产。将熔体引入到模制空间中,并随后通过成型流体和/或加压流体部分地转移至二次模腔中。保留在模制空间中的熔体被推动靠在模制空间的壁上,并冷却。
推回法或者物料推回法不同于二次模腔法,其中一部分熔体不是转移至二次模腔中,而是推回至给料管道或螺杆输送机中,所述熔体是经过给料管道或螺杆输送机预先导入模制空间中。
在推回法的情况下,熔体必须克服比二次模腔法的情况明显更高的压力从模制空间转移。已经证明上述使用了成型流体和加压流体的方法是特别有利的,尤其是在推回法的情况下。
在一个优选的实施方案中,用作加压流体和/或成型流体的二氧化碳在被注射进入模制空间之前进行冷却,尤其是冷却到低于15℃、优选低于10℃、更优选低于5℃的温度。由于温度降低,液态二氧化碳是过冷的,并且在引入模制空间之后,在其在热的聚合物的影响下转变成超临界状态之前,以液态聚集态保持一段较长的时间。以此方式,可以一段较长的时间利用液态二氧化碳的高热容,并且聚合物冷却得更加迅速。
加压流体和/或成型流体优选通过注射机引入到模制空间中。由于二氧化碳的所述的良好的热传导特性,所述注射机被流经的二氧化碳冷却。当注射机过热时,尤其是当注射机具有超过聚合物或塑料的玻璃化转变温度Tg的温度时,危险在于聚合物或塑料各自粘着或粘附(在注射机上)。该粘着现象通过使用二氧化碳冷却注射机而得以避免,并确保模制部件可以在冷却后从模具中毫无问题地取出。
另一个优点在于,在使用二氧化碳时,所述注射机通过流经注射机的二氧化碳清洁至一个提高的程度,这是因为由于二氧化碳的分子尺寸而在流经注射机中的非常细的截面的情况下,例如在其中使用宽度仅为1/100至3/100mm的环形模隙的环形模隙注射机的情况下所产生的剪切力高于氮气的情况。
本发明尤其适于生产模制部件,其中内表面的品质是重要的,并应当很高,例如冷却管线,尤其是汽车用冷却管线。另外,本发明在生产具有大的壁厚度的模制部件时显示出优点,这是因为使用高压下的二氧化碳可以大幅减少冷却次数。一般而言,根据本发明的方法在生产模制部件时允许采用超过150巴、特别优选超过200巴或250巴的高气压。
本发明是目前的气体内压工艺的改变的方案,其中代替一种气态加压流体或者除了气态加压流体以外使用液态二氧化碳。在通常的气体内压法中,用作加压流体的气体通过气体注射机引入到模制空间中。对于大多数部件,这些气体注射机被设计成环形模隙注射机。在此,阀针以可移动的方式安装在导杆中,从而在阀针与导杆之间形成隙宽例如为0.01mm的小的环形模隙。
已表明,在根据本发明供给液态二氧化碳时,上述类型的普通气体注射机并不是最佳的,因为液态二氧化碳的流量比不同于气态氮气。因此,危险在于在出口的尺寸过小时进入模制空间中的二氧化碳的质量流量过低,由此导致更慢且更差地使模制部件模制成型。另一方面,二氧化碳的流动速率过高会导致在模制空间中非期望的聚合物涡流。
因此,优选使用其中二氧化碳的出口具有大于0.1mm2、大于0.5mm2、大于2mm2或者大于5mm2的截面积的注射机。因此,其可以是改变的环形模隙注射机或其他注射机。这些注射机可以用于注射加压流体,即高压下的液态二氧化碳,以及用于注射成型流体。所述的注射机允许在不太高的流动速率下的高的质量流量。在使用此类注射机时,模制空间中的压力可以确定的方式调节至例如200巴或250巴。迅速并且有效地将聚合物挤压在模制工具的壁上,从而避免了聚合物的涡流,以改善模制部件的成型和冷却。

特别是通过注射机的所述尺寸使液态二氧化碳向模制空间的供给最优化,从而可以分别缩短循环时间或生产模制部件所需的时间,和/或可以提高模制部件的品质。
在压力降低的情况下,模制部件在模制工具中模制成型并冷却后,必须注意从模具取出的模制部件的内表面不被过大的压力降低破坏。
优选地,模制空间中的压力因此以小于20巴/秒的速度,特别是以在10巴/秒与20巴/秒之间的速度降低。以此方式,避免了模制部件的内表面膨胀,并确保了内表面的高品质。所要求保护的在10巴/秒与20巴/秒之间的压力降低速度范围是尽可能迅速地降低压力以缩短循环时间与尽可能缓慢地降低压力以提高内表面品质之间的良好的折衷。
有利的是,压力线性地降低,即压力以单位时间相同的量降低。
通常,有利的是,在模制空间内达到最大压力后,在压力开始降低之前,保持该压力一段时间。例如通过注射液态二氧化碳而在模制空间中产生250巴的压力,保持该压力几秒钟,例如在5秒与20秒之间,然后又以15巴/秒的速度持续地降低压力。
然而,还可以在模制空间中达到最大压力后立即开始降低压力,从而使循环时间最小化。
比较试验
首先根据普通的气体内压法生产由塑料制成的冷却剂管线,即尤其是根据推回法用气态氮气作为加压流体。从而将熔体在310℃的温度下注射进入模制工具中。试验评估的结果为:冷却时间为每个模制部件110秒,一次循环的总时间,即从将熔体注射进入模制工具中到注射下一个模制部件的熔体的时间为123秒。
实施例1:
生产与比较试验相同的部件。代替气态氮气,根据本发明使用液态二氧化碳作为加压流体。供给的液态二氧化碳的压力迅速增加至250巴,然后保持在该数值。保留其他的试验条件。使用液态二氧化碳作为加压流体,可以将冷却时间从110秒缩短至60秒。
实施例2:
在接下来的试验中,测试压力分布的影响。与实施例1不同,压力不是迅速地增加到最大压力,而是更加缓慢地以确定的方式产生。首先,将气态二氧化碳作为成型流体引入模制空间中,从而将至少一部分熔体推回至螺杆输送机中。气态二氧化碳的压力在2秒内增加至60巴,随后保持在60巴14秒。在该保持阶段后,在室温下供给液态二氧化碳,并将压力在5秒内增加至250巴。在250巴下5秒的保持阶段后,将压力缓慢地降回至0。降低压力的时间为10秒。与实施例1相比,可以将冷却时间缩短至36秒。生产的冷却剂管线的内表面具有高品质。
实施例3:
在本试验中,又使用相同的模制工具,但是使用不同的塑料材料。将气态二氧化碳用作成型流体。气态二氧化碳的压力在2秒内增加至80巴,随后保持在80巴13秒。在该保持阶段后,在室温下供给液态二氧化碳,并将压力在5秒内增加至250巴。在8秒的保持阶段后,又将压力缓慢地降回至0。降低压力的时间为5秒。使用该塑料,再一次可以将冷却缩短至33秒的数值。生产的冷却剂管线的内表面又具有高品质。
上述实施例表明,通过根据本发明使用液态二氧化碳作为加压流体,可以大幅缩短冷却和循环时间。另外,关于循环时间以及关于所制造的模制部件的品质,通过使用成型流体缓慢地增加压力带来进一步的优点。
具体而言,已表明有利的是,提供下列方法步骤:
a)供给成型流体,直到出现第一压力;
b)保持第一压力一定的时间;
c)供给液态二氧化碳作为加压流体,直到出现第二压力;
d)保持第二压力一定的时间;
e)降低压力。
在单独的方法步骤中,表明下列参数是有利的:
关于步骤a),第一压力优选最大为100巴,更优选最大为80巴,最优选最大为60巴。以低于50巴每秒,优选低于30巴每秒的速度增加压力。
关于步骤b),第一压力优选保持5至30秒,更优选10至20秒。也可以省略掉该保持阶段。
关于步骤c),第二压力至少为150巴,更优选至少为200巴,最优选至少为250巴。以超过20巴每秒,优选超过30巴每秒,更优选超过50巴每秒的速度增加压力。
关于步骤d),第二压力优选保持5至30秒,更优选10至20秒。然而,若需要,也可以省略掉该保持阶段。
关于步骤e),优选以在10巴/秒与20巴/秒之间的速度降低压力。
Claims (13)
1.用于生产模制部件的方法,其中将熔融聚合物引入到模制工具的模制空间中,并将加压流体供给到所述模制空间中,从而将所述聚合物挤压在所述模制空间的壁上,其特征在于,将压力为至少150巴、优选至少200巴或至少250巴的液态二氧化碳用作所述加压流体。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,在将聚合物引入到模制空间中之前,将二氧化碳注射进入模制空间中或模制工具的一部分表面上。
3.根据权利要求1或2的方法,其特征在于,在供给加压流体之前,将成型流体供给到模制空间中,从而在聚合物中形成空腔,其中将密度小于500kg/m3、优选小于300kg/m3的二氧化碳用作所述成型流体。
4.根据权利要求3的方法,其特征在于,在超过150巴的压力及超过50℃、优选在50℃与150℃之间的温度下供给二氧化碳作为成型流体。
5.根据权利要求3的方法,其特征在于,在低于100巴、优选低于80巴、更优选低于60巴的压力下供给气态二氧化碳作为成型流体。
6.根据权利要求3至5之一的方法,其特征在于,在供给成型流体的过程中增加成型流体的压力,其中压力变化率为低于50巴/秒,优选低于30巴/秒。
7.根据权利要求1至6之一的方法,其特征在于,通过注射机将加压流体和/或成型流体供给到模制空间中,其中该注射机的出口具有大于0.1mm2、大于0.5mm2、大于2mm2或者大于5mm2的截面积。
8.根据权利要求1至7之一的方法,其特征在于,通过环形模隙注射机将加压流体和/或成型流体供给到模制空间中。
9.根据权利要求8的方法,其特征在于,所述环形模隙注射机具有内径为至少5mm、至少10mm或者至少15mm的环形模隙。
10.根据权利要求1至9之一的方法,其特征在于,加压流体和/或成型流体在供给到模制空间中之前进行冷却,尤其是冷却到低于15℃、优选低于10℃、更优选低于5℃的温度。
11.根据权利要求1至10之一的方法,其特征在于,在供给加压流体之后,模制空间中的压力以在10巴/秒与20巴/秒之间的速度降低。
12.根据权利要求1至11之一的方法,其特征在于,通过供给加压流体使模制空间中的压力增加到最大压力,并在该最大压力下保持5至20秒。
13.根据权利要求1至12之一的方法,其特征在于,所述模制部件是根据二次模腔法或推回法生产的。
