背景技术
当说到主板的尺寸规格时,一个尺寸不可能在所有的情况下适用。例如,有一种ATX(Advanced Technology Extended,超前技术扩展)(主板标准)尺寸规格(其主板尺寸为:12”x 9.6”,30.5cm x 24.4cm),以及小板ATX尺寸规格(其主板尺寸为:9.6”x 9.6”,24.4cm x 24.4cm),一个大板ATX尺寸规格提供更大尺寸的元件以及扩展性,而小板ATX尺寸规格可以提供更加紧凑的组装***。这对特别的尺寸规格的优点是,由于它们可以共享端口布局,从而使得小板ATX主板可以应用于大板ATX主板的设计。

具体实施方式
当可能通过使用扩展板在小板ATX主板上增加PCIe扩展卡槽时,可能仍难以达到大板ATX主板可以提供的卡槽数目。本申请提供了一个实施例对此进行阐明,通过在扩展板上引入一个突出部从而容纳一个额外的扩展卡连接器。该突出部和主板上的一个切口保持互补,从而提供一个增加了扩展板连接器数目的扩展主板。这个切口整体在小板ATX主板的轮廓内部,所以该主板可以使用标准的小板ATX基座。在这里,切口是指将主板的一条边向矩形轮廓的内部偏移一个适合的缺口。
从制造商的观点来看,一个主板的尺寸规格,例如,只需要提供一种主板尺寸规格,例如小板ATX,优于需要提供两种主板尺寸规格,例如大板ATX和小板ATX,从而可以统一制造并降低制造成本。除了减少设计和优化的时间,也进一步减少了成本和面向市场的时间,小板ATX主板可以扩展至满足大板ATX扩展卡连接器的数目。在其他的实施例中,提供了对其他尺寸规格主板的扩展。
如图1所示,本发明实施例提供了一种主板组件AP1,包括一个小板ATX主板11和一个主板扩展板13。该组件和大板ATX尺寸规格一致。主板11容纳了各种计算机组件,包括组合处理器和处理器插座15,以及内存17。另外,主板11上面安装了一个PCIe扩展卡连接器的系列19;系列19包括一个全长度PCIe连接器C0和三个短长度PCIe连接器C1-C3。主板11还包括一个扩展板连接器21,在扩展板13被连接的时候使用。
主板扩展板13包括一个印刷电路板22和一个主板连接器23,设计为和扩展板连接器21相接合,从而使得主板11和主板扩展板13可以实现物理和电性连接。主板扩展板13也包括由三个PCIe扩展卡槽(扩展卡连接器)C4-C6组成的系列25以及其他元件27,用于当主板11连接主板扩展板13时,扩充主板的连接能力。主板扩展板13的尺寸与大板ATX主板和小板ATX主板之间的尺寸规格差异一致。
如图2所示,分别为主板11和主板扩展板13。在主板11中定义了“最适合”的矩形主板轮廓31,最适合的矩形主板轮廓基本和主板的***保持一致,但是在主板11的第一边缘33上有所偏离,该偏离如图中点划线所示。主板11在轮廓31的内部的偏离区域内有一个切口35(凹部或缺口)。
主板扩展板13定义了“最适合”矩形扩展板轮廓41,该“最适合”矩形扩展板轮廓在偏离主板扩展板13***的地方用点划线表示。这个偏离位于主板扩展板13的第一边缘43。在这种情况下,偏离是朝向扩展板轮廓41的外侧45。朝外侧的偏离定义为突出部47,突出部47的形状和切口35的形状互补,从而使得它们在主板扩展板13和主板11相连的时候可以彼此符合。
PCIe连接器C4安装在主板扩展板13并且和突出部47重叠,这里,重叠是指物体(这里指PCIe连接器C4)的正交投影和目标(这里指突出部47)重叠。使得PCIe连接器C4位于突出部47上,使之当主板扩展板13和主板11连接的时候,可以被安置在主板的轮廓31和扩展板的轮廓41的边界上。如果没有切口35和突出部47之间一种互补的安排,轮廓31和轮廓41之间的范围会成为扩展板和主板的禁区,也就是说,所述的安排允许存在7个PCIe连接器而不是6个。这额外的PCIe连接器可以作为市场上的有力竞争因素,并且成为一个配置良好的电脑的重要优势。
如图3所示,为本发明实施例提供的方法M1的流程图。在方法M1A中,获取如图1和图2中的主板11,在方法M1B中,获取如图1和图2中的主板扩展板13,在M2部分中,主板扩展板13通过和主板11进行物理和电性连接从而形成主板组件AP1(图1)。
方法段M2中包括对主板连接器21和扩展板连接器23之间的物理和电性连接。这些连接将主板11上的PCIe总线(图中没有显示)扩展至主板扩展板13上提供服务的PCIe连接器C4-C6。并且,主板扩展板13上的元件27和主板11实现通信上的耦合。在不脱离本申请原理的前提下,对本发明实施例所作出的修改和润饰包含在本发明权利要求书的范围之内。

Claims (12)

1.一种主板结构,其特征在于,包括:
一个主板,所述主板包括带一个切口的第一边;
连接到所述主板的处理器或处理器插座;
第一系列细长的扩展卡连接器,所述第一系列沿着所述第一边的正交方向排列,所述扩展卡连接器的延伸方向和所述第一边平行;
一个扩展板连接器沿所述第一边放置,用于实现所述主板和主板扩展板之间的物理和电性连接。
2.如权利要求1所述的主板结构,其特征在于,所述主板结构进一步包括所述主板扩展板,所述主板扩展板包括一个主板连接器,所述主板连接器用于和所述扩展板连接器进行接合,从而使得所述主板扩展板和所述主板实现物理和电性连接,所述主板扩展板有一个突出部,当所述主板连接器和所述扩展板连接器接合的时候,所述突出部和所述切口相符合。
3.如权利要求2所述的主板结构,其特征在于,所述主板结构进一步包括安装在所述主板扩展板上的第二系列的扩展卡连接器,所述第二系列的连接器中的至少一个扩展卡连接器安装在所述突出部上或者和所述突出部重叠。
4.如权利要求3所述的主板结构,其特征在于,所述主板和小板ATX的尺寸规格一致,当所述主板和所述主板扩展板连接的时候,所述主板和所述主板扩展板的总的尺寸和大板ATX的尺寸规格一致。
5.如权利要求3所述的主板结构,其特征在于,所述第二系列的扩展卡连接器包括三个PCIe连接器。
6.一种实现一个主板扩展板和一个主板物理和电性连接的方法,其特征在于,所述主板扩展板上的一个突出部以及一个重叠的扩展卡连接器(C4)***到所述主板的一个切口中。
7.如权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于,所述扩展卡连接器是一个PCIe连接器,所述主板和小板ATX的尺寸规格一致,当所述主板和所述主板扩展板连接的时候,所述主板和所述主板扩展板的总的尺寸和大板ATX的尺寸规格一致。
8.如权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,所述主板扩展板包括三个PCIe连接器。
9.一种主板扩展板,其特征在于,包括:
一个电路板,所述电路板包括一个最适合的矩形扩展板轮廓,所述电路板包括一个第一边,第一边上的一个突出部延伸至所述扩展板轮廓的外侧,一系列细长的扩展卡连接器,所述扩展卡连接器的延伸方向和所述第一边平行,至少一个所述扩展卡连接器和所述突出部重叠。
10.如权利要求9所述的主板扩展板,其特征在于,包括一个安装在所述电路板上的主板连接器,所述主板连接器用于和所述主板上的配对的扩展板连接器进行连接,从而实现所述主板扩展板和所述主板物理和电性连接。
11.如权利要求10所述的主板扩展板,其特征在于,所述电路板的尺寸规格与大板ATX主板和小板ATX主板之间的尺寸上的差异一致。
12.如权利要求11所述的主板扩展板,其特征在于,所述扩展卡连接器的系列包括三个PCIe连接器。
