In the embodiment of Fig. 1-7, glof club head 100 includes that body 110, body 110 have bizet 112, heel 113, toe 217, rear portion 114 and anterior 115.And in the present embodiment, body 110 includes hosel portion 116, bottom 111 and the skirt section between bottom 111 and bizet 112 117.Club head 100 also includes that protrusion weights 120, protrusion weights 120 are positioned at heel 113, skirt section 117 and bottom 111 and protrude from body 110.
However, it is possible to there is other embodiment, it has the club head being similar to club head 100, but does not include for one or more in the skirt section shown by club head 100 or hosel portion.In addition, although club head 100 includes head of serving a ball in the present embodiment, but can there is other embodiment, it other type of club head including having the protrusion weights being similar to protrusion weights 120, such as Fairway Woods head, mixed type club head and/or the club head of other applicable type.Can also there is other embodiment, wherein, protrusion weights 120 can protrude from the other parts of body 110.Such as, protrusion weights 120 can protrude from skirt section 117 rather than from bottom 111, and vice versa.In another embodiment, be similar to protrusion weights 120 protrusion weights at least partially can be from above for the one or more protrusions other parts described by club head 100.
As for shown in the section in Fig. 8 of present embodiment, body 110 comprises bulk volume 812.Although bulk volume 812 is hollow in the present embodiment, but can there is other embodiment, it includes that for solid or at least a part of which part be solid bulk volume.Bulk volume 812 may be included between about 400cc (cubic centimetre) to about 470cc, but may be based on its affiliated club head type and include other volume.Such as, include serve a ball head an embodiment in, corresponding bulk volume can reach about 600cc.In another embodiment including Fairway Woods head, corresponding bulk volume may be included between about 130cc to about 250cc.As shown in Figure 8, protrusion weights 120 is configured to be in outside the bulk volume 812 of body 110 in the present embodiment.Additionally, in the present embodiment, the center of gravity 221 of protrusion weights 120 also is located at outside bulk volume 812.In the embodiment shown in fig. 1, the sidewall 118 of body 110 is integrally forming with the surface 128 of protrusion weights, and surface 128 is still outwardly from profile body 110.However, it is possible to there is such embodiment, wherein outside the sidewall 118 of the body 110 that protrusion weights 120 can be entirely located in club head 100.Such as, in other embodiments, the surface 128 of protrusion weights 120 can not be integrally forming with the sidewall 118 of body 110 or separate with sidewall 118, and can be attached to sidewall 118 by glue, screw, welding and/or other mechanical fasteners mechanism.In identical or different embodiment, the sidewall 118 of body 110 and the surface 128 of protrusion weights 120 or separable or inseparable.
Protrusion weights 120 or its gravity allocation are become the some benefits that can provide relevant to some features of club head 100 outside being positioned at bulk volume 812.Such as, the moment of inertia of club head 100 can increase because of the prolongation of the distance 250 between the center of gravity 221 of protrusion weights 120 and the center of gravity 211 of club head 100.As an embodiment, as shown in Figure 2 and Figure 8, distance 250 extends 252 by the distance between the center of gravity of body 110 and protrusion weights 120 and extends.By contrast, only having and be positioned at other embodiment of the counterweight within body 110 and may be limited to inner distance such as inner distance 251, it is as the ultimate range by the moment of inertia affecting club head 100.In certain embodiments, the club head including the protrusion weights being similar to protrusion weights 120 can include the about 4000g cm around the vertical axis (axis 290 being similar in Fig. 2) through club head each center of gravity2(gram square centimeter) is to about 6000g cm2The moment of inertia, and/or the respective the moment of inertia of club head can increase about 10% to about 20% because being combined with protrusion weights.In other embodiments, the club head such as Fairway Woods head including the protrusion weights being similar to protrusion weights 120 can include the about 2500g cm around the vertical axis (axis 290 being similar in Fig. 2) through club head each center of gravity2To about 3500g cm2The moment of inertia, and/or the respective the moment of inertia of club head can increase about 4% to about 8% because being combined with protrusion weights.
In the present embodiment, it is assumed that in knockout process, club head 100 rotates around center of gravity 211, the moment of inertia I of club head 100 can be adjusted by below equation:
I=md2
Wherein, m corresponds to distance 250 corresponding to the quality of protrusion weights 120, d.Therefore, if due to compare protrusion weights 120 is placed in bulk volume 812 within and issuable distance increase, distance extend 252 make that distance 250 increases more, thus the moment of inertia I of club head 100 can be made in the case of quality m not increasing internal weights to increase.Such as, in the case of the quality of club head 100 is subject to the norm constraint of the maximum glof club head quality of regulation, and/or in the case of additional glof club head quality may affect or disturb golfer to swing, this technology is probably useful.In addition, according to above-mentioned equation, due to distance d for the moment of inertia I affect for square, with quality m be only the most linear impact compared with, extend 252 by distance and adjust the moment of inertias of club head 100 than attempting adjusting more effectively by changing the weight mass in bulk volume 812.
In such as the embodiment of the present embodiment, such as, for as required the quality of protrusion weights 120 is configured, shapes and/or positions and not by the characteristic of bulk volume 812 or the constraint of size for, it is possible to be useful outside protrusion weights is placed in the sidewall 118 of body 110.Such as, in some embodiments, the quality of protrusion weights 120 may be included between about 7% to about the 16% of club head 100 gross mass.In identical or different embodiment, protrusion weights 120 may be included between about 15 grams to about 30 grams, and/or the quality of club head 100 may be included between about 190 grams to about 210 grams.
In another embodiment, club head such as Fairway Woods head may be included in the quality between about 200 grams to about 240 grams, and have and be similar to protrusion weights 120 and be in the protrusion weights in the range of about 10 grams to about 30 grams.In identical or different embodiment, the quality of protrusion weights may be included between about 3% to about the 10% of the gross mass of club head.
In the current embodiment of club head 100, the center of gravity 211 of club head 100 positions towards the heel 113 of body 110, and is shifted away from toe 217 by protrusion weights 221.In the present embodiment, toe 217 from geometric center 212 towards toe to extension, and heel 113 from geometric center 212 towards with to extension.In the present embodiment, protrusion weights 120 by the center of gravity 211 of club head 100 towards heel 113, shift towards bottom 110 with towards rear portion 114.In identical or different embodiment, the center of gravity 211 of club head 100 can be shifted about 1.25mm to about 5.1mm towards heel 113 by protrusion weights 120, and/or shifts about 7.6mm to about 12.7mm towards rear portion 114.In identical or different embodiment, the center of gravity 211 of club head 100 can be shifted by the protrusion weights 120 center of gravity away from body 110 and/or the geometric center 212 away from body 110.Can embodiments exist that, wherein geometric center 212 can include the cubing center of body 110 and/or consistent with the cubing center of body 110.In another embodiment including Fairway Woods head, the center of gravity of Fairway Woods head can be shifted about 1.6mm to about 2.0mm towards the heel of Fairway Woods head by the protrusion weights being similar to protrusion weights 120, and/or shifts about 1.4mm to about 1.7mm towards the rear portion of Fairway Woods head.
As will be described further, protrusion weights 221 transfer of the center of gravity 211 of the club head 100 caused can provide the some benefits swung improving user, is corrected as contributed to hitting user Slice tendency.In the present embodiment, club head 100 does not has toe weight member at toe 217, and wherein, the transfer of the center of gravity 211 caused because of protrusion weights 120 can be offset by above-mentioned toe weight member.
Additionally, from Fig. 1-8 it can be seen that as from as the homing position view shown in Fig. 6, protrusion weights 120 is from the outside of club head 100.This layout about observability can have additional benefit, i.e. for may realize that the outside of protrusion weights 120 arranges the control of available enhancing and the user raising user confidence of performance characteristics.The layout of present embodiment also allows for protrusion weights and is formed, thus changes whole outward appearance and/or the structure of club head 100 compared with same category of conventional club head indistinctively.As embodiment, bulk volume 812 can be considered the heel volume being separated into towards heel 113 and the toe volume towards toe 217, wherein, heel volume can be configured to differ each other within about 20% with toe volume, to keep symmetrical and therefore maintain club head 100 relative to conventional club head whole outward appearance and structure.In identical or other embodiment, heel volume and toe volume can be configured to differ each other within about 10%.In certain embodiments, conventional club head can pyriform, triangle, C-shaped and/or square symmetrically, even if these shapes have additive and also can substantially maintain.Therefore, the bulk volume 812 of club head 100 and/or sidewall 118 need not significantly change into shape the best in the worst and/or structure that may adversely affect ball emission rate or ballistic characteristics, thus realize the center of gravity metastasis degree that protrusion weights 120 is allowed in the present embodiment for center of gravity 211.
Here for being easy to explanation, as it is shown in figure 5, around geometric center 212 club head 100 can be further divided into 4 quadrants, i.e. before-with quadrant 551, front-toe quadrant 552, rear-with quadrant 553 and rear-toe quadrant 554.In this arrangement, as it is shown in figure 5, the center of gravity 221 of protrusion weights 120 can be located at after-with quadrant 553 at, even if a part for protrusion weights 120 extends in other quadrant one or more.In addition, as can be seen from Figure 6, club head 100 can be referred to as compass basal plane (compassplane) 580, compass basal plane 580 centers about the geometric center 212 of body 110 and is limited by with-toe axis 581 and anterior-posterior axis 582, wherein, with the toe-end of-toe axis 581 is positioned at 0 degree, and the homing position visual angle that the angle of wherein compass basal plane 580 is relative to Fig. 6 increases in clockwise manner so that 90 scale designations of compass basal plane 580 are positioned at the rear end of anterior-posterior axis 582.In the current embodiment of club head 100, with reference to the homing position shown in Fig. 6, between the center of gravity 221 of protrusion weights 120 can be positioned on relative to about 120 degree to about 180 degree of compass basal plane 580.More specifically, center of gravity 221 can be positioned on about 135 degree relative to compass basal plane 580, but other position is also likely to be suitably in other embodiments.
But, according to intended club head effect or characteristic, also can there is such embodiment, wherein center of gravity 221 can be positioned on except in Fig. 5 rear-with quadrant 553 in addition to other quadrant at or quadrant between, and/or be positioned between other angle or the angular range in addition to the scope above in regard to about 120 degree to about 180 degree described in compass basal plane 580.
In the present embodiment, protrusion weights 120 front-with quadrant 551 at separate with hosel portion 116, thus after the position of the center of gravity 221 of protrusion weights 120 is maintained at-with quadrant 553.Such as make the center of gravity 211 of club head 100 keep with the front portion 115 of body 110 away from for, this position separated with hosel portion 116 is probably useful.In identical or different embodiment, achieved by protrusion weights 120 and center of gravity 211 towards rear portion 114 and/or is kept towards bottom 111 or shifts, so can allow the service characteristic improved.The emission characteristics of this improvement can include that the higher angle of departure and/or relatively low transmitting rotate, and this may cause producing more excellent trajectory and farther distance when club head 100 clashes into golf.Figure 13 illustrates the comparison of flight path 13100 and flight path 13200, and wherein, flight path 13100 includes that the emission characteristics improved, the highest angle of departure and relatively low transmitting rotate, and flight path 13200 includes that the relatively low angle of departure and higher transmitting rotate.
