Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明一般地涉及照明***领域。更具体地说,本发明涉及LED模块和用于将LED模块组装成阵列的互连***。本发明采用在安装方法、电连接方法、LED阵列布置和光学设计中灵活的模块设计。
背景技术
发光二极管(LED)的光通量的发展和改进已经使得这些器件适合用于通常的照明应用,包括建筑、娱乐和户外照明。因而,与诸如白炽灯、荧光灯和高强度气体放电灯的光源相比,LED变得越来越有竞争力。
LED提供了大量的优点,并通常由于它们的耐用性、长寿、高效率、低压需求以及独立地控制发光的颜色和强度的可能性而被选择。LED提供了优于易碎的气体放电灯、白炽灯泡和荧光照明***的改进。诸如LED的固态光源具有这样的性能:产生相同的照明效果,但是超过与其它照明技术相关联的缺点。
现有技术的LED模块***主要致力于具有有限互连柔性的串***。在这些***中容纳LED的模块或壳体通常相对于变形不易弯曲。所期望的是开发一种照明技术,通过用具有柔性互连性的简单的可更改模块元件构建照明***,该照明技术在应用中是灵活的。
发明内容
因此,要解决的问题是需要一种LED模块和互连***,该LED模块和互连***能够容易地安装到包括户外应用的各种应用中,并且在LED的互连和布置的方法中是灵活的。
解决方案由LED模块提供,该LED模块包括壳体、设置在壳体内的印刷电路板以及连接到壳体的透镜,该印刷电路板包括具有电触头的连接器部分,该电触头提供与印刷电路板支撑的电部件的电连接性。该壳体包括用于接收连接器的开口,该连接器用于提供与印刷电路板的电连接性,并且电部件包括至少一个LED。

参考图1,公开了发光二极管(LED)模块10的示例性实施例,该LED模块10具有透镜12和壳体14。该透镜12包括顶面部分16和向后部分18。顶面部分16可具有如现有技术中公知的任何实际的几何形状,以射出和/或散播光。向后部分18具有锯齿20以帮助将透镜12连接到壳体14。替代地,向后部分18可具有其它夹紧辅助特征或工具狭槽,例如角落和侧边,或可以是光滑的圆柱表面。透镜12可由本领域公知的任何透镜材料制成,包括但不限于玻璃和塑料。
如图1所示,壳体14具有一般地圆形的横截面,然而,包括方形、六边形、三角形、八边形或其它多边形,以及弯曲的轮廓的其它横截面几何形状可用于具有不同组装***几何形状的应用中。壳体14包括多个开口22、开口壳体24和连接点26。在该示例性的实施例中,示出的壳体14具有四个开口,然而在替代的实施例中,可以出现一个、两个、三个或多于四个开口。开口壳体24通常围绕开口22。开口壳体24包括凸片25。示出的开口22和开口壳体24具有通常为矩形几何的形状,但是包括方形、三角形、圆形及其组合的其它替代几何形状可以用于检修开口22和开口壳体24中的任一个,或可以用于检修开口22和开口壳体24这两者。连接点26配置成将壳体14固定到支撑表面(未示出)。在模块10打算自由竖立或在模块10由外部元件固定的应用中可以省略连接点26。壳体14优选地由塑料壳体材料制成,但是可以由本领域公知的任何壳体材料制成。
LED模块10的分解视图在图2中示出。如图2中可见,LED模块10还包括垫圈30、组装的印刷电路板(PCB)组件32、诸如螺钉的紧固件33以及连接薄膜34。垫圈30可以是平坦的垫圈、O型垫圈,或配置成在透镜12和壳体14之间形成环境密封的其它相似垫圈。PCB组件32包括支撑LED38的基本上圆形的PCB 36。LED 38可以通过表面安装焊接或通过孔焊接而连接到PCB 36。尽管示出的PCB组件32包括四个LED,但是由PCB组件32支撑的LED的数量可以改变。
PCB 36包括连接器部分41。该连接器部分41设置在连接器狭槽42之间,如图2所示。连接器部分41包括接触垫40。接触垫40通过迹线(未示出)导电地连接到LED 38和/或支撑在PCB 36上的任何另外的电元件(未示出),例如电阻器和电容器。因此,接触垫40配置成提供与LED 38和/或任何另外的电元件(未示出)的电连接性。接触垫40、迹线(未示出)和任何另外的电元件(未示出)可以安装在PCB 36的顶面44或底面(未示出)上,或安装在这两者上。尽管示出的PCB 36具有位于四个连接器部分41上的接触垫40,但是根据设计需要可以从一些连接器部分41中省略接触垫40。
PCB 36另外包括孔46和对准凹口48。孔46允许紧固件33可释放地将PCB 36连接在壳体14内,并且对准凹口48确保PCB 36在连接在壳体14内时的预定取向。尽管示出的PCB 36具有两个孔46和一个对准凹口48,但是PCB 36可以设置有任意数量的螺钉孔46和对准凹口48,以便于将PCB36安装且固定到壳体14。
连接薄膜34可以是双面胶带或其它类似的粘合剂,该连接薄膜打算将壳体14的底面(未示出)连接到支撑面(未示出)。当连接薄膜用于将壳体14连接到支撑面(未示出)时,可以省略连接点26。替代地,可以省略连接薄膜34,并且通过连接点26来连接壳体,或者可以省略连接点和连接薄膜这两者。
还可在图2中可见,壳体14包括外部螺纹50,该外部螺纹配置成接合透镜12的向后部分18的内表面(未示出)上的内螺纹(未示出)。
沿线3-3获取的图1的LED模块10的截面图在图3中示出。在图3中可见,壳体14还包括PCB支撑件52,用于支撑壳体14中的PCB 32。PCB支撑件52具有内部通道(未示出),用于接收将PCB 32连接到壳体14的紧固件33。在该示例性的实施例中,壳体14包括两个PCB支撑件52,每个PCB支撑件定位在横截面的一侧,定位成对应地接收紧固件33,如图2所示。壳体14还包括对准柱54,该对准柱配置成接收在对准凹口48内(图2)。替代地,壳体14可包括多于一个的对准柱54和对应的对准凹口48(图2)。还在图3中可见,开口22提供了进入PCB连接器部分41的通路。
图4示出了示例性的电缆组件400,该电缆组件用于物理地且电地将两个LED模块10(图1)连接在一起,或将LED模块10(图1)连接到另外的电部件(未示出)。该电部件可以是动力源、电源、LED驱动器或其它照明部件。电缆组件400包括电缆410和设置在电缆410的相对端的两个连接器420。电缆410包括导体或电线(未示出)。如本领域普通技术人员可以意识到的,电缆长度可以根据应用而改变。电线(未示出)通过连接器420中的接线端或触头(未示出)进行端接。通过焊接、压接、电阻焊接、超声波焊接或任何其它类似的端接方法,电线(未示出)可以端接于触头(未示出)。触头(未示出)可以是弹簧触头510(参见图6)。
如图4所示,连接器420包括弹性闩锁422。示出的该连接器420具有两个弹性闩锁422,然而,单个连接器420上的弹性闩锁422的数量和配置可以改变,并且应该配置成与壳体14(图1)的对应凸片25(图1)相配合。例如,在替代的实施例中,每个连接器420可包括一个、三个、四个或更多弹性闩锁422。另外,在替代的实施例中,电缆组件400可包括仅仅一个连接器420,并且电缆410的相对端具有电线、触头或类似的电互连件,用于将电缆组件400端接于另外的电装置。
弹性闩锁422包括凸片部分424和闩锁部分426。该弹性闩锁422配置成枢转,以允许当连接器420***到壳体14的开口22内时,闩锁部分426向外的运动,从而接合壳体14(图1)上的对应凸片25(图1)。闩锁部分426包括向内的突出部428。施加到凸片部分424的向内压力使得闩锁部分426向外枢转,一旦弹性闩锁422接合到对应凸片25(图1)时释放该弹性闩锁422。
连接器420还包括壳体***部分430。该壳体***部分430包括具有密封特征434的外表面432。如图4所示,密封特征434围绕该外表面432周向地延伸,然而,应意识到,密封特征的替代构造可用于提供环境保护。在替代的实施例中,可以删去密封特征。该壳体***部分430具有一般为矩形的几何形状,该几何形状基本上对应于模块壳体14(图1)中的开口22。包括***434的壳体***部分430可以由柔软聚合体或柔性的聚合材料制成,例如热塑性弹性体。例如,热塑性弹性体可以是由德克萨斯州休斯顿的埃克森美孚化工公司制造的SantopreneTM。
连接器420的端视图在图5中示出。在图5中可见,连接器420还包括支撑在触头支撑件512上的弹簧触头510。还在图5中可见,壳体***部分430包括斜切侧514,该斜切侧514帮助连接器420对准对应的开口22(图1),并确保连接器420以正确的取向***到开口22中。在替代的实施例中,可以使用其它触头来代替弹簧触头510,以在电缆组件400(图4)和LED模块10(图1)之间形成电连接。
沿图5的线6-6获取的连接器420的局部截面图在图6中示出。在图6中可见,弹簧触头510配置在壳体***部分430内,使得当壳体***部分430***到壳体14(图3)的开口22(图3)中时,弹簧触头510接收PCB 32(图3)的连接器部分41(图3),并且形成与对应触头40(图3)的电连接,从而提供与LED模块10(图3)的电连接。
图7示出了可选择的模块插头700。该模块插头700包括手柄部分710和***部分720。该***部分720包括围绕***部分720的周边设置的密封特征722。该***部分720具有一般为矩形的几何形状,该几何形状基本上对应于模块壳体14(图1)中的开口22。包括密封特征722的***部分720可以由柔软聚合体或柔性的聚合材料制成,例如热塑性弹性体。该弹性体可以是德克萨斯州休斯顿的埃克森美孚化工公司制造的SantopreneTM。
图8示出了沿图1的线3-3获取的截面图,其中示出的壳体***部分430和模块插头700的局部部分已经***到开口22中。如图8所示,弹簧触头510接合PCB 32的连接器部分41上的接触垫40(图3),以提供与LED 38和支撑在PCB 32上的其它电部件的电连接,并且LED模块开口插头700基本上密封封闭的对应开口22。壳体***部分430的***434和模块插头700的密封特征722配置成形成壳体14的环境密封。还在图8中可见,垫圈30形成壳体14和透镜12之间的环境密封。
LED模块10和电线连接器400的示例性布置在图9中示出。如图9中可见,模块插头700已经用于密封LED模块10中的一个,并且防止其它的连接性。如图9中可见,LED模块10和电缆组件400的设计允许各种照明设计构造能够被组装。
Claims (10)
1.一种LED模块(10),包括:
壳体(14);
设置在所述壳体(14)中的印刷电路板(32),所述印刷电路板(32)包括电部件和连接器部分(41),所述连接器部分(41)包括电触头(40),所述电触头配置成给由所述印刷电路板(32)支撑的所述电部件提供电连接性;和
连接到所述壳体(14)的透镜(12);
其中所述壳体(14)包括用于接收连接器(420)的多个开口(22),所述连接器用于给所述印刷电路板(32)提供电连接性;并且
其中所述电部件包括至少一个LED(38)。
2.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),还包括设置在所述透镜(12)和所述壳体(14)之间的垫圈(30)。
3.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),还包括用于将所述LED模块(10)连接到支撑表面的连接薄膜(34)。
4.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),其中所述壳体(14)包括PCB支撑件(52)和对准柱(54),所述对准柱用于以预定的取向将所述印刷电路板(32)连接在所述壳体(14)内。
5.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),其中所述多个开口(22)是四个开口。
6.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),其中所述壳体(14)还包括通常围绕所述开口(22)的开口壳体(24),所述开口壳体(24)配置成仅以一个预定的取向接收连接器(420)。
7.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),还包括电缆组件(400),所述电缆组件包括具有两端的电缆(410)和设置在所述电缆的任一端的连接器(420),所述连接器(420)配置成接收在所述多个开口(22)的开口中,接合所述印刷电路板(32)的所述连接器部分(41),以及形成与所述印刷电路板的电触头(40)的电连接。
8.根据权利要求7所述的LED模块(10),其中开口壳体(24)包括用于可释放地接合所述电缆组件(400)的凸片(25)。
9.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),其中所述连接器(420)包括柔性的闩锁(422),所述闩锁配置成可释放地接合通常围绕所述开口(22)的开口壳体(24)上的凸片(25)。
10.根据权利要求1所述的LED模块(10),其中所述连接器(420)还包括***(434),所述***配置成当***所述连接器(420)时环境密封所述开口(22)。
