Description

路厄锁适配器
技术领域
本发明涉及医疗设备,更具体地涉及用于医疗容器的适配器,以及将适配器附接至医疗容器的方法。
背景技术
一种用于在不同医疗部件之间连接和建立流体连通的已知容器为路厄锁(luer lock)。路厄容器广泛地用于将注射器连接至医疗器具-诸如针,以及将医疗导管彼此连接。另外,路厄锁容器具有允许不同尺寸和型号的器具连接至相同容器的标准构造。
传统的路厄连接组件通常包括具有截头圆锥体形状的阳路厄尖端部件或配合件,所述阳路厄尖端部件或配合件***具有截头圆锥形接收腔的阴路厄部件或配合件中。相对的圆锥表面互相接触以形成密封的摩擦配合。
存在两种常见类型的路厄连接组件。一种类型通常被称为路厄滑座(luerslip),其中通过阳路厄尖端和阴路厄部件之间的摩擦配合保持连接。另一种类型通常被称为路厄锁连接器,其中阳路厄尖端由具有螺纹内表面的环形锁定套筒环绕。***件包括围绕外表面形成的对应的单螺纹。螺纹套筒与螺纹外表面的啮合建立阳路厄尖端和***件之间的连接,同时防止意外脱开。

该情形可能因医疗装置或连接至注射器容器的其它器械而变得复杂,这些装置和器械可能相对较长或者需要由医疗人员进行侵入性操作。例如,对来自人体不同器官的组织和细胞的收集可能需要相对较长的套管并且需要由医师进行侵入性操作,这可能损坏容器。由于阴适配器上的螺纹和套筒的螺纹内表面之间只有一个接触点,侵入性操作可能引起***件上的螺纹破裂或从部件完全折断,从而危及路厄连接的完整性。
另外,需要扭转运动来将适配器锁定到容器上,这可以使得在适配器上的阳螺纹与容器上的阴螺纹啮合期间套筒向外扩张。该扩张也可以导致破裂和断裂发生,或引起导致破裂和断裂的微破裂。
在一些实例中,一个容器可以在多个医疗程序中使用。由于每个程序需要将旧的适配器从容器移除而将新的适配器附着到其上,对于适配器来说存在多种过转矩的机会。在相对的螺旋表面彼此接触以形成密封摩擦配合之后,当将适配器连接至注射器容器上的操作者持续扭动适配器时,可能导致过转矩。该过转矩可能导致锥形柱的尖端在该尖端与适配器连接的位置处变形。这种变形可能导致锥形柱的尖端闭塞,从而减少可能流过路厄连接的流体量,进而使注射器容器的有效性显著降低。在极端实例中,过转矩可能导致锥形柱在与注射器容器连接处破裂。过转矩还可导致在套筒与注射器筒交接处以及在锥形柱与注射器筒交接处发生损坏。
另外,路厄连接可以用于连接暴露于高压的医疗设备,诸如在血管造影程序中的造影剂注射。在这种程序中,该连接将暴露于可以达到大约1200磅每平方英寸的压力。当在这种血管造影程序中监测和控制流体注射率时,减少被注入流体的量的任何闭塞将不利地影响程序的执行并且导致不精确或完全不可用的测试结果。
所以,本领域需要一种用于路厄锁连接的适配器,其允许使用者将适配器牢固地固定到容器,同时防止使用者过度转动适配器。本领域还需要如下适配器,其可以减少垂直施加到适配器纵轴上的力对适配器和容器的损坏。
发明内容

具体实施方式
现在参照图1A、1B、1C和2,其中示出了用于附接至医疗设备的适配器10。适配器10可以包括具有形成在其中的锥形凹槽22的近端20。适配器10还可以包括具有形成在其中的圆柱凹槽32的远端30。适配器10还可以包括在锥形凹槽22和圆柱凹槽32之间形成的导管40。导管40可以与锥形凹槽22和圆柱凹槽32两者流体连通。
在构造方面,适配器10可以包括刚性或半刚性材料,诸如金属、硬塑料或复合物。适配器10可以通过模制、机械加工或其它方式形成为具有所需特征和尺寸。

再次参照图4,适配器10可以螺纹附接至具有套筒110的医疗容器100上,所述套筒110具有外径112和可以包括螺纹116的内径114。可以构造至少一个螺纹24,使得至少一个螺纹24可以螺纹啮合套筒110的内径的螺纹116。将至少一个螺纹24设置为两个螺纹可以导致在至少一个螺纹24和医疗容器100的螺纹116之间形成增大的接触。如在图4中由至少一个螺纹24的构造所示,至少一个螺纹24在适配器10的直径上的间隔开大约180°的两点处接触套筒螺纹116。所以,如果沿一个方向施加垂直于纵轴的力给适配器10,适配器10的一个侧面上的至少一个螺纹24可能趋向于向上偏转并且接触对应螺纹116的顶面,其中力从适配器10的该侧面上施加。相反,适配器10的被施加力的侧面的相对侧面上的至少一个螺纹24可能趋向于向下偏转并且接触对应螺纹116的底面,从而在适配器10和容器100之间产生两个点的接触,并且提供对所施加的力的额外抵抗。相反,现有技术的适配器仅包括一个螺纹并且由此与容器之间只有一个接触点。由于现有技术的容器和适配器之间没有第二个接触点,施加给现有技术的适配器的力可能使附接至适配器的螺纹破裂或在极端实例中从适配器完全切断螺纹。所以,可以想象的是,至少一个螺纹24被设计以获得充分的机械优点,从而当适配器10受到垂直于其纵轴的力的作用时,可以减少对适配器10的这种损坏以及在套筒110与注射筒交接处的损坏和在锥形柱120与注射筒交接处的损坏。
继续参照图4,通过使容器100的锥形柱120与锥形凹槽22对齐并且将适配器10压在锥形柱120上,同时使至少一个螺纹24与套筒110的螺纹116啮合,可以将适配器10附接至容器100上。在扭转适配器10的同时,锥形柱120的端部接触座28,在该点处使用者可以感觉到阻力,这表示适配器10已经完全与容器100接合。相反,现有技术的锥形凹槽不包括诸如本发明中公开的座,因而对锥形柱的过度转动以及由此发生的损坏经常产生。
