Abstract

技术领域
与本发明相应的装置涉及一种使用外部光的显示装置,特别是,涉及一种使用自然光或照明光作为光源来提高可见度和减少能源消耗的显示装置。
背景技术
随着通讯和显示技术的发展,近来出现了很多便携式终端。便携式终端的产品包括个人数字助理(PDAs)、便携式多媒体播放器(PMPs)和数字多媒体广播(DMB)。因为液晶显示器(LCDs),作为光接收平板显示器的一种,自身不能通过发射光线,因此它们通过选择性地透过从光源发出的照射在各个像素上的照明光来产生图像。为此目的,背光单元安装在LCDs的背面。
根据光源的布置背光单元分成直接光型和边缘光型。直接光型这样配置:多个光源安装在LCD的下方直接发出光线到液晶面板上。直接光型适合于大屏幕显示装置,比如大于30英寸的LCD电视,因为光源可以在很宽的区域内自由地有效地安装。边缘光型适合于便携式显示器的显示,因为光源应当安装在导光板的侧壁上。
当便携式终端在户外太阳光下使用时,屏幕的亮度太暗以致于无法看清楚。而且,便携式终端通常使用高能量消耗电池,并且该种电池在便携式终端使用前需要充电。
发明内容
本发明提供一种使用太阳光或照明光作为光源来提高可见度和减少能源消耗的显示装置。
根据本发明的一个方面,提供一种构成如下的显示装置:一有外部光透过的主体,该主体具有其上形成图像的显示面板;和一可滑动地配合到主体的外盖,其中轨状凸起形成在所述外盖上用以从主体上滑动,且与轨状凸起相应的轨状沟槽形成在主体上,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时外部光被提供到主体上。
外盖可以包括:一用来导向光线到主体的导光面板;一给导光面板提供光线的光源;和一反射光线通过导光面板的第一反射板。
光源可以位于导光面板的更靠近主体的一侧,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时,从光源输出的光发射到主体上。
该显示装置可以进一步包括一布置在光源周围的反射单元,其中当外盖滑动使主体暴露时,反射单元转动以将光源输出的光线反射到主体上。
该主体可以包括:一导光面板;和一给导光面板提供光线的光源,和该外盖可以包括一反射光线通过导光面板的第一反射板。
该显示装置可以进一步包括布置在邻近主体可打开和关闭的第二反射板,这样当外盖滑动使主体暴露时,该第二反射板打开以将外部光反射到主体上。
该显示装置可以进一步包括一布置在邻近主体的辅助光源,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时该光源发射光线到主体。

具体实施方式
现在,参照附图对本发明进行更加充分地描述,附图中示出了本发明的具体实施例。
图1是与本发明的具体实施例相应的显示装置的透视图。如图1,该显示装置包括主体10,和可滑动配合到主体10的外盖20。当外盖20从主体10滑下,外部光5,比如太阳光或照明光,传送通过主体10。主体10包括一其上形成图像的显示面板。轨状凸起27形成在外盖20上,用以从主体10上滑动,与轨状凸起27相应的轨状沟槽17形成在主体10上。
图2是图1的显示装置的截面图;如图2,主体10包括用以扩散光线的扩散平板11,用以校正光线路径的第一棱镜板12,正交于第一棱镜板12的第二棱镜板13,根据输入图像信号调制光线用来形成图像的显示面板14。
第一和第二棱镜板12和13折射并聚焦从扩散平板11输出的光线,用来提高光线的方向性和亮度。显示面板14可以是液晶面板,并通过根据输入图像信号调制外部光来形成图像。
构成主体10的组成元件由透光材料制成,这样外部光可以透过组成元件到达显示面板14,并且显示面板14使用透过的外部光来形成图像。外盖20包括光源21,将光源21输出的光线导向显示面板14的导光面板22,和将通过导光面板22的光线反射到显示面板14的第一反射板23。
当主体10和外盖20互相盖合在一起时,从光源21输出的光被导光面板22导向并通过扩散平板11和第一和第二棱镜板12和13。通过第一和第二棱镜板12和13的光线在显示面板14上形成图像。同时,为了使用户外太阳光下或户内有照明光时的外部光,外盖20从主体10上滑下,使得外部光从主体10的后面照入。当户外在太阳光下看屏幕时,液晶屏很难看清楚,这是因为显示装置的光源的亮度弱于太阳光的亮度。然而,当使用太阳光作为光源,显示屏就可以看得很清楚。并且,由于此时显示装置中的光源不需要用,驱动光源的能量可以省下来。
另一方面,当将外盖20从主体10上滑下时,移动外盖20使得屏幕的有效区域不被覆盖,这样外部光可以均匀地照射到显示屏上。
尽管图2中的导光面板22装在外盖20上,导光面板22也可以装在主体10上。光源21布置在导光面板22的两侧的至少一侧,并且当外盖20盖合在主体10上时发射光到导光面板22以形成图像。
图3是图2的显示装置的变形型的截面图。如图3,显示光源25布置在主体10和外盖20互相交迭处的导光面板22的一侧,当外盖20相对于主体10滑下时,显示光源25发射光线到主体10上。在这种结构中,当主体10和外盖20盖合在一起时,显示面板14利用从光源25发出的光形成图像。当外盖20滑动使主体10暴露时,主体10利用外部光5形成图像,并且如果外部光5不足,光源25可以作为辅助光源使用。
图4A是图3的显示装置的截面图但带有布置在光源25周围的光源反射单元26。如图4A,反射单元26将发射到光源25背面的光线反射到导光面板22来提高光效率。图4B是图4A的显示装置的截面图,但示出了外盖20从主体10上滑下的状态。如图4B,当外盖20从主体10上滑下时,反射单元26转动以将来自光源25的光线反射到主体10。当光源25被用作辅助光源时光效率得到进一步提高。光源25可以使用开关手动地打开或关闭。
图5是图2的带第二反射板30的显示装置的截面图。如图5,第二反射板30可打开和关闭地布置在外盖20上。当外盖20从主体10上滑下时,第二反射板30打开与主体10相对,这样无论是直接入射到主体10的外部光,还是被第二反射板30反射然后入射到主体10的外部光都被提供给主体10,从而提高了光效率。布置在导光面板22两侧的至少一侧的、用来给导光面板22提供光线的光源21可以布置在有第二反射板30布置的导光面板22一侧的相对侧。
图6是图3的带第三反射板31的显示装置的截面图。如图6,当外盖20从主体10上滑下时,导光面板22的光源25布置在靠近主体10处,第三反射板31可打开和关闭地布置在外盖20上。当提供给主体10的外部光不充足而因此屏幕灰暗时,第三反射板31被打开以给主体10提供更多的外部光,或者光源25用作辅助光源给主体10提供光线。或者,光源25和第三反射板31同时使用以给主体10提供更多的光线。
图7是与本发明的另一具体实施例相应的显示装置的截面图。如图7,该显示装置包括具有导光面板118的主体100,和可滑动地配合到主体100的外盖120。光源119布置在导光面板118两侧的至少一侧。扩散平板111,第一棱镜板112,正交于第一棱镜板112的第二棱镜板113,和根据输入的图像信号调制光线以形成图像的显示面板114从导光面板118侧依次放置。第一反射板123布置在外盖120上。当主体110和外盖120盖合在一起时,来自光源119的光线入射到导光面板118上,通过导光面板118的光线被第一反射板123反射并通过扩散平板111和第一和第二棱镜板112和113然后入射到显示面板114上。
当外盖120相对于主体100滑下时,外部光5穿过导光面板118入射到显示面板上,并利用该光形成图像。图8是图7的带第二反射板130的显示装置的截面图。如图8,第二反射板130布置在外盖120上,以反射外部光到主体100上。第二反射板130可以有选择地打开和关闭。进一步,当外部光线不充足时提供光线的辅助光源132,布置在外盖120上端部。
本发明的显示装置能够使用外部光,比如太阳光或照明光,来显示图像,并且在室内外部光微弱或没有或日落以后使用背光单元显示图像。显示装置可采用传感器来感测外部亮度,当外部亮度小于预先设定的标准亮度时,显示装置使用背光单元作为光源;当外部亮度大于该标准亮度时,使用外部光作为光源。
如上所述,与本发明一致的显示装置可以选择性地使用外部光,比如太阳光或照明光,或背光单元显示图像。相应地,当外部光充足时,显示装置使用户外太阳光来显示图像,因此保证了清晰的可见度并节约了背光单元的能量消耗。
虽然参照具体实施例对本发明作了详细示出和描述,但是本领域的普通技术人员可以理解在不脱离所附权利要求限定的本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可以对形式和细节进行各种改动。
Claims (10)
1.一种显示装置,包括:
主体,该主体能够由外部光透过,且该主体具有在其上形成图像的显示面板;
可滑动地配合到主体的外盖,
其中,轨状凸起形成在所述外盖上,用以从主体上滑动,且与轨状凸起相应的轨状沟槽形成在主体上;
其中,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时,外部光被提供到所述主体上,从而被提供到所述显示面板。
2.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中外盖包括:
用来将光线导向到主体的导光面板;
给导光面板提供光线的光源;和
反射通过导光面板的光线的第一反射板。
3.如权利要求2所述的显示装置,其中当外盖滑动使主体暴露时,光源位于导光面板的更靠近主体的一侧使得从该光源输出的光发射到主体上。
4.如权利要求3所述的显示装置,进一步包括布置在光源周围的反射单元,
其中,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时,该反射单元转动以将光源输出的光线反射到主体。
5.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中该主体包括:导光面板;和给导光面板提供光线的光源,而该外盖包括反射通过导光面板的光线的第一反射板。
6.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,进一步包括布置在主体附近的可打开和关闭的反射板,这样当外盖滑动使主体暴露时该反射板打开以反射外部光到主体。
7.如权利要求2所述的显示装置,进一步包括布置在主体附近的第二反射板,这样当外盖滑动使主体暴露时第二反射板打开,以将外部光反射到主体上。
8.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,进一步包括布置在主体附近的辅助光源,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时该辅助光源发射光线到主体。
9.如权利要求2所述的显示装置,其中光源布置在主体和外盖互相交迭处的导光面板的一侧,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时该光源发射光线到主体。
10.如权利要求5所述的显示装置,还包括辅助光源,该辅助光源布置在所述外盖的上端处,当外盖滑动使主体暴露时,所述辅助光源向所述主体发光。
