Abstract

Un método (10) para el procesamiento de salmueras que contienen litio, que comprende: (i) una etapa de filtración (14) para eliminar sulfatos; (ii) una etapa de intercambio iónico (18) para eliminar las impurezas divalentes; (iii) una etapa de intercambio iónico (22) para eliminar las impurezas de boro; (iv) una etapa de electrólisis (26) para producir hidróxido de litio (28); y (v) una etapa de cristalización (32) que a su vez proporciona un producto de hidróxido de litio monohidrato (34).
