Process for the production of ribbed tubes for exchange devices, the ribs of which are disk-shaped and have a beaded edge. The warm pulling of sheet metal disks, which are provided with a flange, on core tubes for the production of finned tubes, as they are used in heating and cooling systems, is extremely expensive when it comes to large amounts of sheet metal disks which are placed on the core tubes are to be raised.
It has therefore already been attempted to pull the sheet metal disks onto the core tubes in the cold state by pressing the sheet metal disks onto the core tube by rolling the flange. The inconvenience arose here that the roller only ever exerted a pressure effect on the flange at one point, so that the rolling of the flange was only relatively slow and, given the unavoidable tolerance differences in the diameter of the core tubes, initially superfluous Rotation of the sheet metal disc resulted in that parts of its beaded edge could not be pressed against the core tube.
These inconveniences are avoided by the invention described below. This invention consists in a method for the production of finned tubes for ZVärme- exchange devices, the ribs of which are disk-shaped and have a beaded edge and is characterized in that the flange of each sheet metal disk is pressed onto the tube in a cold state,
that the excess material of the flange resulting from the natural tolerance differences between the diameter of the core tube and the inner diameter of the flange is formed into a tension fold on the outer surface of the flange, which causes the sheet metal disc to adhere to the core tube.
One way of carrying out said method, for example, is shown in the figures. Fig. 1 shows a plan view of the arrangement, and Fig. 2 shows a section along the line X-Y of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 shows a section through the core tube and the flange.
a represents the core tube. b shows the flange of the sheet metal disc c. There are now for example two jaws A and B are provided in which circular cutouts from the un dangerous diameter of the outer diameter of the flange b are attached. Each of the jaws A and B is with a perpendicular right downward approach C respectively. D provided. In these approaches there is a bore which is provided with an internal thread and serves to accommodate the spindle E. This spindle E is on its parts that corresponds to the approach C, for example, with left-hand thread and in the parts that corresponds to the approach D, with right-hand thread or vice versa. The spindle E is turned by the handwheel F.
If the spindle E is now rotated by the handwheel F in such a way that the jaws and B approach each other, a pressure is exerted simultaneously on all points of the flange b during this movement, through which the flange b is firmly pressed against the core tube a with the exception of the points which the gap s has left free.
Due to the space left free by the gap s, the material of the flange b has the opportunity to evade if, which is always the case, the diameter of the core tube a is more or less smaller than the inner diameter of the flange due to the unavoidable tolerance differences. The material escaping into the gap s is compressed in it and forms a tension fold f (FIG. 3) on the outer surface of the flange b, which causes the sheet metal disc to adhere firmly to the core tube.
The described movement device for the jaws A and B through a spindle is to be regarded as one which is only shown as an example. It can be replaced by any other suitable movement device.
