Abstract
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Zusammensetzung, enthaltend einen Safranknollenextrakt. Die Zusammensetzung hat eine entzündungshemmende Wirkung und eignet sich daher zur Verwendung als Arzneimittel, zur Verwendung in kosmetischen Produkten und als Nahrungsmittel oder Nahrungsmittelzusatz.The present invention relates to a composition containing a saffron nodule extract. Alle paar Jahre werden die Knollen aus dem Boden geholt und der Grossteil wurde dabei bisher entsorgt. Eine rentable Weiterverarbeitung der Safranknolle ist daher wirtschaftlich interessant. Die Safranknolle ist reich an Aminosäuren und gilt als der wichtigste Nährstoffspeicher der Pflanze. Ebenfalls wurden aus der Knolle Substanzen wie Sinapinsäure und Crocetin isoliert. Ein Glycokonjugat aus der Safranknolle wies bei Experimenten zytotoxische Aktivität gegenüber diversen Tumorzellen auf. Die Verwendung von Safranblütenblättern in der Medizin ist bekannt. Bhat et al. (International Journal of Phytopharmacology 2012, 3(1), 27-31) beschreiben die entzündungshemmende Wirkung eines Methanol-Safranblütenblattextraktes. Die sechs Fraktionen wurden anschliessend in vitro auf entzündungshemmende Aktivität getestet, wodurch die Aktivität eindeutig in einer bestimmten Fraktion lokalisiert werden konnte. Diese Fraktion enthält als Hauptinhaltsstoff ein Saponingemisch. Insgesamt konnten mittels semi-präparativer HPLC sechs Substanzen isoliert und mittels NMR-Analyse bestimmt werden.
