To be achieved is a safe and structurally simple use of petrothermal energy, in particular for the production of electrical energy and heat supply. Description
The invention relates to a process for the production of energy from geothermal sources, in particular for the development of stored in hot rock layers (petrothermal) energy and a system for this purpose.
Geothermal energy is a significant alternative energy source that is already in use. In addition to the introduction of geothermal probes in near-surface layers, deep wells into hot rock layers (HDR - hot dry rock) are known to tap into the stored hot rock layers of basalt or granite energy and this energy for hot water or steam extraction or for the production of electric energy use.
According to DE-B-10 2005 044 352 holes at depths of 4000-6000 meters are required to tap layers with a temperature of more than 100 ° C for an HDR heat exchanger.
For this purpose, a first deep hole is first driven into such a hot rock layer and a liner introduced into it. The liner is perforated together with the rock layer and subsequently water is pressed in to form cracks in the rock layer. An explosive material is subsequently pumped into these cracks and ignited so that the cracks increase as a result of the detonation. Thereafter, at least a second deep hole is drilled in the cracked area. Thus, in the connection.
Through the first deep hole, water is pumped into the hot rock layer, absorbs heat from it (heat exchanger), flows to the second deep hole and is conveyed via this to the earth's surface. In another heat exchanger, the energy is withdrawn from the water and used to generate energy.
In a geothermal probe system according to DE-A-10 2007 040 709 geothermal heat is used by introducing a heatable or evaporable heat transfer medium at depths of about 4500 meters. For this purpose, a first deep hole is provided, which initiates the heat transfer medium and having an antechamber in the form of a cavity. The pre-chamber is connected to further deep wells, which lead the heated medium to consumers. The cooled at the consumer medium is then re-introduced via the first deep hole in the antechamber to achieve a closed circuit.
In a method for the development of geothermal energy according to DE-C-19 919 555, the course of the bore can be controlled by temperature as a function of the temperature in the ground, which allows course-controlled drilling at depths up to 1500 m with a remote-controlled drill head. The hole can follow in a three-dimensional arbitrary directional orientation of a geothermally usable zone. In a geothermal plant according to DE-A-10 2007 003 066 a thermodynamic cycle is to be created by means of a deep well, in which two streams of a heat transfer medium are guided in the bore. In an inner tube, the medium is passed into an applied cavern in the warm layer, absorbs heat and is passed through a jacket tube of the bore to an energy converter. In the jacket pipe a hydraulic crossing to the inner pipe is provided. The cavern is lined with a thermally conductive material.
The invention has for its object to provide a method for recovering energy from geothermal sources, in particular for the development of existing in hot rock layers resp. stored petrothermal energy. The object is solved with the features of claim 1.
By means of a borehole, which passes in a hot rock layer in at least one, preferably a plurality of lateral bores or tubes, an aqueous medium is introduced and it is generated a petrothermal circulation system.
Preferred and advantageous embodiments of the method are disclosed in the dependent claims.
Thus, the laterally branched off from the main bore bores or tubes, which serve to receive hot steam from the hot rock, preferably arranged at a depth of 7-9 km. A depth in which a temperature of about 250 ° C can be found. The water is introduced through the main well, circulates through the rock layer, absorbs the available energy, and is channeled through natural permeability into the side tubes.
It is thus possible to gain energy with high efficiency with relatively little effort. The method can be operated not only in geothermal active areas but in fact in each area by means of only one deep hole in which a petrothermal circulation is possible.
Another object is to provide a plant for the production of energy from geothermal sources, in particular for the development of stored in hot rock layers petrothermal energy. This object is achieved with the features of claim 8. In a borehole, the main bore, both a descending line for the aqueous medium and ascending steam lines are housed, which with respective supply resp. Feed-in stations are connected.
Preferred embodiments are disclosed in the associated dependent claims. Boreholes branching off to the side of the main bore serve to introduce water into the hot rock. Preferably, a weather hole is spaced from the main bore. The main hole is perforated in the area of the red hot rock layer, so that the water can emerge better distributed. The main hole is in the upper area, d. H. provided above the first branch and in the cooler soil and rock layers with a concrete jacket or the like.
The hole lining in the lower part of the dry rock is feasible without geological complications in the mere implementation of the bore, a separate lining would not be economically viable.
Geothermal resources include such hydrogeologic and petrographic nature. Hydrogeological sources of heat energy are characterized by heat carriers such as near-surface hot water or steam. It is sufficient to drill holes at a depth of no more than 3-4.5 km.
Petrographic resources store the energy of glowing hot, dry rock layers of the earth's crust. However, to gain industrial electrical energy from petrographic resources, deep holes of 7-9 km are required. For a sufficient development and energy generation, a main bore with a corresponding number of these laterally branching holes should be introduced. The drilling of boreholes causes in a known manner a crushing of rock by means of suitable tools. Can be drilled vertically, horizontally and controlled angle or oblique. A hole is started on the earth's surface with a so-called mouth hole, the end point at the bottom is the blind hole.
To form a petrothermal circulation system in a glowing hot dry rock layer, a temperature at or in the region of the base hole of about 250 ° C is required, resulting in said drilling depth of 7-9 km result (based on an average temperature increase 100 m each). However, there are individual definable areas, e.g. that Cooper basin in South Australia, where the mentioned rock temperature is already reached at a depth of 3.5-4.5 km.
Once the main bore has reached a region in which temperatures of about 250 ° C are given in the rock, the laterally branching holes can be driven out of the main hole formed in the rock layer. The length and number of side bores can be calculated according to the required contact surface of water with the hot, hot rock ("underground steam boiler"). In the main bore a delivery pipe for water is guided and the water is under high pressure in the rock, resp. pressed and / or produced during drilling cavities and converts due to the high temperature to live steam, which passes through natural permeability in the lateral tubes. These direct the live steam in a loop in the main bore to the mouth hole and from there in facilities for the use of steam for heating purposes and / or for the production of eloelectric energy. These devices can be operated permanently and safely as soon as a sufficient petrothermal circulation system is formed. The bore system is structurally easy to produce and usable.
While sources of hot water or steam are distributed unevenly ("haphazardly"), petrographic / petrothermal sources are available in high numbers and long term. As far as can be estimated, this could be used without danger of exhaustion for many thousands of years.
The invention will be described below in an embodiment with reference to a drawing. One of a stop 15 or mouth hole to a blind hole 17 in a glowing hot rock layer 18 propelled main bore 10 has in the region of the rock layer 18 a plurality of laterally branching holes 7 (Fig. 1). In the near-surface region, the main bore 10 is lined with a support profile 1 in the form of a concrete jacket 2. In the lower region, in the direction of the blind hole 17, the main bore 10 (as well as the lateral bores 7) is unlined (segment 6). In the annular space 3 of the main bore 10, a delivery pipe 4 is arranged to the bottom hole 17, which fills only a part of the annular space 3 and which is perforated in the region of the rock layer 18 (segment 8).
The delivery pipe 4 is connected via lines to a pumping station 14, from which water is pressed under high pressure and evenly distributed via delivery pipe 4 and a perforated segment 8 thereof in the hot rock layer 18, due to natural permeability 9 through pores, cracks and cracks in the rock, overcoming a pressure of at least about 700 atm. Due to the prevailing temperature of about 250 ° C, the water to live steam 5, which further enters the side holes 7 (collecting effect, Fig. 3a). By this he rises in the annular space 3 of the main bore 10 to the stop 15 to the earth's surface and passes through connected lines in a power plant 13, where he drives turbines for generating electrical energy and then into a heat treatment plant 12. Condensed water to steam is then back to the pumping station 14 out, so that a closed circuit is formed.
[0024] Weiterhin vorgesehen ist ein übliches Wetterloch 16. Furthermore, a usual weather hole 16 is provided.
In a second variant without collecting action (FIG. 3 b), a reservoir with hydraulic overpressure 9 is used, in which the live steam 5 enters upwardly approximately horizontally arranged lateral bores 7.
The invention is not limited to these embodiments.
