- une roue de vingt-quatre heures;
- un ressort ayant une partie centrale et un bras élastique en forme d'arc de cercle dont l'extrémité libre est munie d'un doigt apte à coopérer avec un indicateur de quantième en vue d'un changement de quantième;
- la roue de vingt-quatre heures et le ressort étant solidaires d'un même arbre pouvant tourner sur lui-même;

The invention relates to an instant drive mechanism of a date indicator for a timepiece calendar. Such a mechanism makes it possible to perform at a given moment of the day, generally at midnight, the instantaneous passage from one date to another.
Background of the invention
As evidenced by the Swiss patent n [deg.] 322341, we have known for more than half a century of date indicator drive mechanisms to produce a sudden change of date at a chosen time of the day.
More recently, in 2002, European Patent Application No. [deg.] 1,220,058 discloses an instantaneous drive mechanism of a date indicator comprising, integrally mounted on the same shaft, a wheel of twenty- four hours and a spring having an elastic arm formed in an arc whose end is provided with a finger for exerting a force on a tooth of the date indicator to cause a change of date.
This mechanism further comprises a return spring, integral plates of the wheel of twenty-four hours, a second finger, a rocker, a shaft and a second return spring. Such a mechanism has the main drawbacks of being composed of a large number of parts, of being complicated and of requiring a large consumption of energy to overcome the forces of all the springs solicited during its operation and to move all parts of which it is constituted.
Summary of the invention
The invention aims to provide an instant drive mechanism of a date indicator overcomes the disadvantages mentioned above.
More specifically, the invention relates to an instantaneous drive mechanism of a date indicator comprising:
- a twenty-four hour wheel;
a spring having a central portion and an elastic arm in the shape of an arc whose free end is provided with a finger capable of cooperating with a date indicator for a change of date;
- the wheel of twenty-four hours and the spring being integral with the same tree being able to turn on itself;
this mechanism being distinguished, on the one hand, in that it further comprises a stationary piece forming a stop for the spring finger and, on the other hand, in that the twenty-four hour wheel has an aperture adapted to receiving at least a portion of the finger, opening which part of the edge is able to release this finger from the immovable piece forming a stop.
Other features and advantages of the invention will now be described in detail in the following description which is given with reference to the appended figures which represent:

Detailed presentation of the invention
Components of the mechanism according to the invention
The mechanism according to the invention comprises 3 pieces, namely, a wheel of twenty-four hours 1, a spring 2 and a stationary piece forming a stop 3, which parts are visible individually and respectively in FIGS. 1 to 3.
These parts mounted in a timepiece calendar, are shown in Figs. 4 to 9.
The twenty-four hour wheel 1 is intended to be driven at a rate of one revolution per day, directly or by means of an intermediate wheel, by the hour wheel of the movement of the timepiece.
As can be seen in particular in FIG. 1, the twenty-four hour wheel 1 is a toothed wheel having an aperture 4 substantially in the form of a ring arc coaxial with the twenty-four hour wheel 1. A part of the edge of the opening 4, designated by the number 5, is angled, that is to say inclined in the figure.
If one refers to the direction of rotation of the wheel indicated by the arrow F, the edge portion 5 is at the rear of the opening 4, on the outer peripheral side 6 of this opening, c that is to say on the side opposite to the center of the wheel. The inclination of the rear portion 5 has the effect of bringing the side 6 of the center of the wheel and thus progressively thin the rear of the opening 4. The twenty-four hour wheel 1 has also in its center a hole 7 allowing it to be fixed on a tree.
As can be seen in particular in FIG. 2, the spring 2 comprises a central portion 8 intended to be fixed to a shaft through its hole 16 and to which is connected a connecting portion 9 extending by an elastic arm 10 in the form of an arc whose end free is provided with a finger 11 adapted to cooperate with a date indicator, for a change of date. This finger 11 is pierced with a hole 15 whose utility will be explained below.
In FIG. 3 is shown an embodiment of the immovable piece forming abutment 3. The general shape of this piece is not crucial. In fig. 3, it has the overall shape of a ring having a protrusion 17 projecting from the inner periphery of the ring, that is to say towards the center of the ring.
This protrusion 17 is intended to serve as a stop for the finger 11 of the spring 2. It comprises for this purpose a stop face 18 against which the finger 11 is intended to abut. This abutment face 18 preferably forms an acute angle α with a straight line connecting the center of the spring 2 and a point of this face.
Mechanism according to the invention
In FIG. 4 is shown the mechanism according to the invention mounted in a calendar timepiece of which we see here only part of the date indicator 12. This indicator takes the form of a ring having an internal toothing formed of thirty-one teeth 13 and bearing the date, here figures designated by reference 14. It goes without saying that one could use other types of date indicators.
As can be seen in FIG. 4, the twenty-four hour wheel 1, the spring 2 and the immovable piece forming a stop 3 are arranged and sized to cooperate with each other. In addition, the spring 2 is arranged and dimensioned to cooperate with the date indicator 12, that is to say, it is positioned and dimensioned so that its finger 11 can be inserted between two teeth 13 of the date indicator 12 with a functional game allowing it to enter and exit easily from the space between these teeth 13.
The wheel of twenty-four hours 1 is fixed on a shaft 19 through its hole 7. Similarly, the spring 2 is, thanks to its hole 16, fixed on the same shaft 19, parallel to the wheel of twenty -four hours 1, above this one. Thus, any rotational movement of the twenty-four hour wheel 1 is accompanied, integrally, via the shaft 19, of a rotational movement of the central portion 8 of the spring 2.
The immovable piece forming a stop 3 is arranged taking into account the locations of the finger 11 of the spring 2 and the date indicator 12 and is suitably fixed (welding, gluing ...) to the plate of the timepiece. It is preferably coaxial with the twenty-four hour wheel 1 and the spring 2.
Operation of the mechanism according to the invention
The mechanism according to the invention is normally provided for the change of date to take place at midnight, FIG. 4 represents a situation corresponding to approximately 8 o'clock in the morning.
As time elapses, the twenty-four hour wheel 1 and the spring 2 rotate in the direction of the arrow F.
Later, around 16 hours, we arrive at the situation shown in Figs. 5and 6.
As can be seen in FIG. 6, the immovable piece forming a stop 3 is under the twenty-four hour wheel 1.
The finger 11 of the spring 2 is provided in its hole 15 with an axis 20 which is arranged vertically, that is to say perpendicularly to the plane formed by the spring 2 and the twenty-four hour wheel. 1. This axis 20 is inside the opening 4 is it is long enough to cross the latter. It is therefore he who, strictly speaking, is in abutment against the immovable piece abutment 3, precisely, against the abutment face 18 of its protuberance 17 which is better visible in FIG. 5.
Therefore, from that moment, the axis 20 and the finger 11 which holds it can not continue to rotate along the arrow F. However, since the wheel of twenty-four hours 1 continues to rotate, to drive the shaft 19 and thus the central portion 8 and the connecting portion 9 of the spring 2, the latter begins to arm, that is to say that its elastic arm 10, blocked by his finger 11, begins to accumulate potential energy.
With the opening 4 of the twenty-four hour wheel 1 and elasticity of the elastic arm 10, the axis 20 can remain in contact with the abutment face 18, while the central portion 8 and the connecting portion 9 of the spring 2 continue to rotate, driven by the shaft 19 and the twenty-four hour wheel 1.
Maintaining the axis 20 in contact with the abutment face 18 is favored by the angle a defined above.
The twenty-four hour wheel continues its rotation, its opening 4 moves relative to the axis 20.
Around 22 hours, we thus arrive at the situation shown in FIG. 7: the axis 20 is at the beginning of the inclined rear part 5 of the opening 4.
The rotation of the twenty-four hour wheel 1 continuing regularly, the axis 20 will now be pushed gradually by the inclination of the rear portion 5 towards the center of the spring 2.
At midnight, we reach the situation shown in FIG. 8: the axis 20 was so pushed by the rear part 5 of the opening 4 towards the center of the spring 2, that it has come close enough to be no longer in contact with the abutment face 18.
The finger 11 is then completely clear of the immovable piece forming abutment 3. Being suddenly free, thanks to the energy accumulated by its elastic arm 10, it can move away quickly, substantially in the direction of the arrow F. In his movement, he presses the tooth 13 closest to him and, as can be seen in FIG. 9, thus suddenly causes the date indicator 12 to rotate in the direction of the arrow G.
The finger 11 then moves away from the date indicator 12. Continuation of the rotation of the latter is then prevented in known manner by a jumper and its spring (not shown) which ensure the maintenance in position of the date indicator 12.
The rotation of the twenty-four hour wheel 1 and the spring 2 continuing, it then returns to the situation of FIG. 4 and so on.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention that can be seen by referring again to FIG. 6, when the axis 20 abuts against the abutment face 18, the positioning of the latter and the blocking provided by the jumper and its spring are provided so that there is a clearance J between the finger 11 and the tooth 13 to avoid pushing the date indicator before the scheduled time (midnight).
