Domaine technique
Technical area
The present invention relates to a watch movement of the self-winding type comprising a frame carrying a drive member, kinematically connected to a mechanical oscillator to maintain its oscillations including via an escape wheel, and a mechanism of automatic winding comprising an oscillating mass arranged to supply the motor member with energy.
State of the art
[0002] Most watch movements of the self-winding type known from the prior art meet the definition above.
[0003] A number of these known watch movements have been designed to limit the influence of gravity on the operation of the mechanical oscillator.
[0004] Thus, for example, the tourbillon escapement was invented in the 18th century by A.-L. Breguet, this invention is still relevant today.
More recently, the company bearing the name of the illustrious inventor mentioned above has marketed a movement comprising a double vortex mounted on a secondary plate performing a turn on itself with reference to the main plate of the movement.
The Zenith International S.A. factory has also proposed an alternative solution to try to improve the movement of watch movements, by mounting the mechanical oscillator on a secondary frame connected to the main frame of the movement by a universal joint. Thanks to this construction, the mechanical oscillator, composed of a balance associated with a spiral spring, is maintained in a horizontal plane permanently.
Disclosure of the invention
A main object of the present invention is to provide an alternative to known constructions of the prior art, by proposing a watch movement having an original construction, particularly for mounting the mechanical oscillator, to limit the influence of gravity on the operation of the latter.
For this purpose, the present invention relates more particularly to a watch movement of the type mentioned above, characterized in that the mechanical oscillator and the escape wheel are pivotally mounted on the oscillating mass.
With these features, the mechanical oscillator has a large number of different positions as a function of time when the watch movement is mounted in a worn timepiece, which limits the influence of gravity on its operation.
Preferably, the watch movement according to the invention comprises a differential gear having a first input, kinematically connected to the drive member, a second input, kinematically connected to the oscillating weight, and an output, kinematically connected to the escape wheel for, on the one hand, transmit energy to it from the drive member and, on the other hand, compensate the movements of the oscillating mass with reference to the frame.
According to a preferred embodiment, the differential gear comprises a satellite carrier rotatably mounted on the frame, a satellite rotatably mounted on the satellite carrier forming the first input, the satellite carrier having a toothing connected kinematically to the oscillating weight to form the second input and the carrier carrying an output wheel kinematically connected to the escape wheel to form the output of the differential gear.
The output wheel may mesh with the escape wheel, either directly or via an intermediate wheel which may optionally be secured to a vortex cage carrying the escape wheel and the mechanical oscillator.
In addition, preferably, the movement comprises a first return rotatably mounted on the frame and arranged, on the one hand, in engagement with a pinion integral with the oscillating mass and, on the other hand, in engagement with the gearing of the carrier.
Advantageously, the gear ratio between the pinion integral with the oscillating mass and the toothing of the planet carrier is advantageously chosen in such a way that, when the escape wheel is stationary, the planet carrier presents every moment an angular displacement identical to that of the oscillating mass.
It can be further provided that the satellite comprises a first wheel kinematically connected to the drive member, via a second reference, and a second wheel kinematically connected to a pinion integral with the carrier, optionally through an inverting referral.
In this case, it is advantageous to provide a hollow tube integral with the frame, inside which is housed the second reference and on which is pivotally mounted the carrier. The oscillating mass may also preferably be pivotally mounted on the hollow tube.
With these features, the movement has a construction at once original, compact, and to ensure a smooth running of the mechanical oscillator.
Brief description of the drawings
Other features and advantages of the present invention will appear more clearly on reading the detailed description of a preferred embodiment which follows, with reference to the accompanying drawings given by way of non-limiting examples and in which :
[0019] - FIG. 1 is a simplified front view of a watch movement according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and
[0020] - FIG. 2 shows a simplified sectional view of an alternative embodiment of the watch movement of FIG. 1, according to the line II-II of FIG. 1.
Mode (s) of realization of the invention
FIG. 1 shows a simplified front view, on the bridge side, of a watch movement according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Only the elements contributing to the invention have been shown for clarity.
The watch movement, of the self-winding type, comprises an automatic winding mechanism arranged to supply power to a motor member, such as a mainspring (not shown). The automatic winding mechanism comprises in particular an oscillating mass 1 rotatably mounted at the center of the movement along an axis X1.
The oscillating mass 1 comprises a frame 2 by which it is connected to the main frame of the movement, namely here to the plate 4. The frame 2 of the oscillating mass has a J-shaped section, as it is better of fig. 2, inside which is housed a vortex 5.
The vortex 5 comprises a cage 6 including an escape wheel 8, a balance 9 and a spiral 10, the latter two elements constituting a mechanical oscillator. The pinion of the escape wheel meshes with a ring gear 11 integral with the oscillating mass.
An intermediate gear wheel 12, or ring gear, is integral with the tourbillon cage, in a conventional manner, the latter being intended to be connected to a finishing gear train for transmitting power from the motor unit to to the mechanical oscillator, via the escape wheel.
The watch movement according to the present invention further comprises a differential gear 14 of X1 axis comprising a carrier 15, rotatably mounted with reference to the plate 4 and comprising a bridge 16 carrying a satellite 17, defining a first input of the differential gear. The carrier also comprises a toothing 18, defining a second input, and an output wheel 19, mounted on the carrier-carrier so as to be secured to define an output of the differential gear. The output wheel 19 meshes with the intermediate wheel 12 of the vortex 5.
A wheel 21 kinematically connected to the drive member is arranged in engagement with the satellite 17 to transmit the force.
It will be noted that an inverting reference 22 has been provided on the embodiment of FIG. 1, by way of nonlimiting illustration, between the satellite 17 and the output wheel 19, so that the latter transmits the force of the drive member to the escape wheel 8 with the correct direction of rotation. Of course, those skilled in the art will not encounter any particular difficulty in providing such an inverter anywhere else suitable for the movement, without departing from the scope of the present invention.
FIG. 2, which shows a simplified sectional view of an alternative embodiment along line 11-11 of FIG. 1, makes it possible to better appreciate the operation of the differential gear 14.
It appears from FIG. 2 a hollow tube 24 is housed fixed in the plate 4 of the movement along the axis X1.
A return 25 is housed inside the hollow tube 24 being free to rotate relative to the tube. This comprises a first wheel 26, close to the plate, kinematically connected to the drive member and the wheel 21, bridge side, arranged in engagement with a first wheel 30 of the satellite 17. The satellite comprises a second wheel 32 arranged in taken with a pinion 33 integral with the planet carrier 15, and therefore with the output wheel 19.
Therefore, the satellite 17 is a first input of the differential gear for retransmitting the force of the drive member to the escape wheel 8 via the intermediate wheel 12.
It will be noted that the variant of FIG. plans to directly connect the satellite 17 to the pinion 33, unlike the embodiment of FIG. 1 according to which the second wheel 32 of the satellite 17 is arranged in engagement with a first wheel of an inverting gear 22 whose second wheel is in engagement with the pinion 33, to reverse the direction of rotation of the latter. In the case of FIG. 2, an inverting gear (not shown) producing the same effect is disposed in the drive train between the wheel 26 and the drive member. Of course, the use of a simple return, that is to say having only one wheel, is also possible without departing from the scope of the present invention.
On the side of the plate 4, a mobile 35 is rotatably mounted on the hollow shaft 24 while being fixed rigidly to the frame 2 of the oscillating mass, in order to achieve the mounting of the latter in rotation in reference to the stage 4.
The mobile 35 has a first pinion 36 for transmitting the energy generated by the movements of the oscillating mass to the drive member, such as a mainspring, via a conventional winding train (no represent).
The mobile 35 has a second pinion 38 arranged in engagement with a first wheel 40 of a return 41 rotatably mounted on a bridge 42 integral with the hollow tube 24. The return 41 comprises a second wheel 43 meshing with the toothing 18 of the satellite carrier 15 which is, as mentioned above, the second input of the differential gear.
The gear ratio between the second pinion 38 and the toothing 18 of the planet carrier is advantageously chosen in such a way that, when the escape wheel is stationary, the planet carrier presents at each moment an identical angular displacement. to that of said oscillating mass. At the same time, the satellite 17 is rotated by the rotation of the bridge 16 of the planet carrier which rolls its first wheel 30 on the wheel 21 and its second wheel 32 on the pinion 33 without any transmission of force. intervenes.
Thanks to these characteristics, the only displacement of the oscillating mass does not transmit any torque to the escape wheel which can, therefore, provide pulses to the mechanical oscillator only from the force that is transmitted since the first input of the differential gear, that is the satellite 17.
The vortex will not be described in more detail in this presentation to the extent that it does not contribute directly to the invention. It is indeed possible to implement the self-winding watch movement according to the present invention, without particular difficulty, with any other known type of escapement.
The foregoing description attempts to describe a particular embodiment by way of non-limiting illustration and, the invention is not limited to the implementation of certain particular features which have just been described, as for example the structure specifically illustrated and described for the plane differential gear. It will be noted for example that a spherical differential gearing can be implemented without particular difficulty on the basis of the teaching above.
The skilled person will not encounter any particular difficulty to adapt the content of the present disclosure to his own needs and implement a self-winding watch movement whose oscillating weight carries the exhaust, without departing from the scope of the present invention. the present invention. It will be noted, for example, that the person skilled in the art will be able to adapt the above described to have a number of mobiles constituting the finishing gear train adapted to his own needs, or to have, for example, an indication of the second on the mass. oscillating.
