The invention relates to a box with a can closure according to the features of claim 1.
Cans for tablets, lozenges, candies, medicines, cosmetics and the like are known in various embodiments. They serve as receptacles and protect their contents from external influences. Cans are not only for the preservation and protection of their contents.
As a visible and perceptible by potential customers packaging element they play an important role in marketing and sales. Properties such as size, shape, color, material, surface, etc. allow countless combinations and designs with different effects.
It is known from US Pat. No. 3,999,327 to configure cans in such a way that they at least partly have the shape of animals, which can be achieved by appropriate painting or
Printing is still clarified, and that they can be stacked in different ways. Such cans can also be used as a toy for children.
From US 5 503 288 a reclosable container with two half-shells is known, wherein the second half-shell can be slipped over the first half-shell for closing the container in the manner of a lid. The one half-shell comprises one or more lips protruding on the outside, which engage in one or more corresponding grooves formed on the inside of the other half-shell when closing the container. In at least one of the half-shells, male and female engaging means, e.g. may have the shape of dovetailed feathers and grooves.
By telescoping the corresponding engagement means of two or more adjacent half-shells, these half-shells can be assembled to form different multiple container structures. To assemble and separate the container, the upper half-shells or lid must be removed, since they partially cover the frontal openings of the grooves. For a single container, the engaging means dominate its appearance. They are also perceived as engaging devices whose sole purpose is to connect several half-shells together. Half shells with such engagement means are usually made entirely of plastic. For the connection of half-shells by means of dovetail-like engagement devices flat, flat portions of the half-shells are required.
As a result, the scope for possible forms is severely limited. Moreover, this type of engagement means is not suitable for low-height containers such as e.g. suitable for flat cans.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a two half-shells box with a can closure and means for coupling half-shells.
This object is achieved by a box with a can closure according to the features of patent claim 1.
The inventive doses can be made both in plastic and as high quality tin cans with closure and coupling elements made of plastic. The closure elements also have the function of coupling elements.
This multiple function eliminates the need for separate coupling elements that could compromise the appealing and balanced design of the cans. The cylindrical and / or spherical design of the closure and coupling elements allows pivoting and / or rotational movements of two interconnected or coupled half-shells. At the edge of each half-shell are diametrically opposite on one side two mutually spaced female coupling elements and arranged on the other side a male coupling element. Two half shells can be assembled into a can by the male coupling elements of each half-shell between the two elastically yielding female coupling elements of the other half-shell are clamped or clamped.
The male or female coupling elements formed spherically or cylindrically with convexly curved end regions are centered between the concavely curved end regions of the female coupling elements and held rotatably or pivotably analogously to a joint. To open the can, the male coupling element must be released from the clasp on one of the two sides. Due to the symmetrical design, the box can be solved on each of the two sides with the coupling elements and pivoted about the opposite joint. By loosening both coupling connections, the half-shells can also be completely separated. The half-shells of several doses can also be used as a plug play by being put together in any way to chains or other structures.
In a preferred embodiment, the female coupling elements additionally comprise a portion that is configured analogously to the male coupling elements. This increases the design freedom when mating the half shells. The cans can be made relatively flat thanks to the small footprint of the coupling elements, so they can be accommodated without disturbing a trouser or jacket pocket. Of course, larger volume cans may also be formed in accordance with the present invention.
Basically, the cans in supervision may have any shape.
Preferably, however, a symmetrical polygonal shape is selected with even number of edges, since there can arrange the coupling elements on opposite edges in a non-interfering manner, and there is the arrangement of the coupling elements in all shells identical. Also suitable are (in the plan view) oval or circular or elliptical half-shells.
In principle, several pairs of diametrically opposite coupling elements can be arranged at the edges of the half-shells. Thus, for example, alternately male and female coupling elements may be formed on each of the edges of a hexagonal half-shell. This increases the security of the closure against unintentional opening. However, then several coupling elements must be solved when the box is to be opened.
When Zusammensteckspiel the variety of combination options is still increased. In the case of tin cans, which generally comprise two curved sheet metal parts with edges crimped outwards, the coupling elements are preferably formed on the circumference of a slightly elastic clamping ring or closing ring made of plastic. This can e.g. be made in one piece as an injection molded part in the shape of the half shell edge. Alternatively, it is also possible first to produce a band with integrally formed coupling parts, which is subsequently connected, for example is formed in the region of one of the coupling elements by means of a latching connection or by gluing or welding into a ring. Over each edge of the two sheet metal parts, such a ring is slipped with coupling elements.
In this case, a circumferential groove is preferably formed on the inside of this ring, in which engage the flanged edge of the sheet metal part, thus ensuring the secure hold of the ring on the sheet metal part. In addition, locking elements or other means may be provided in the region of the groove, which surround and hold the inserted in the groove flanged sheet edge.

Fig. 1 shows an exemplary first embodiment of a can 1 or generally a container having a can bottom 5a comprehensive first half-shell 3a and a can lid 5b comprehensive second half-shell 3b in the open state. FIGS. 2 to 12 and 17 show further views of the can 1 from FIG. 1 or from parts of this can 1. The can bottom 5a and the can lid 5b are made in this embodiment
Manufactured sheet metal. They have in plan the shape of a uniform hexagon with rounded corners and comprise an outwardly flanged edge 7, as shown in Fig. 17. The edges 7a, 7b are bordered or surrounded by preferably slightly elastic carrier bands 9a, 9b configured in the manner of a ring.
Circumferential grooves 11a, 11b (FIGS. 7 and 8), which serve as a receptacle for the associated flanged edges 7a, 7b, are recessed on the inner surfaces of these carrier tapes 9a, 9b. In addition, latching elements 13 or other means may be provided in the region of the grooves 11a, 11b, which surround and clamp the flanged sheet metal edge 7a, 7b inserted into the groove 11a, 11b. The half-shells 3a, 3b or their edges 7a, 7b give the support bands 9a, 9b, which have been slipped over them, additional dimensional stability. At each of the carrier tapes 9a, 9b, a plurality of outwardly projecting coupling elements 15 are formed, wherein at least two female coupling elements 15a and at least one male coupling element 15b are provided. The female coupling elements 15a are arranged slightly offset from each other in the band direction, so that a gap 17 is created between them.
Each of the carrier tapes 9a, 9b is arranged on the respective edge 7a or 7b of the can bottom 5a and the can lid 5b such that the gap 17 and the male coupling element 15b are arranged in the middle of diametrically opposite sides of the respective edge 7a, 7b ,
The female coupling elements 15a are in the region of the gap 17, for. tubular or cylindrical formed with frontal concave depressions. As a result, a kind of socket is formed.
In an alternative embodiment, the half-shells 9a, 9b may also be made of plastic, in which case the coupling elements 15 are formed directly on the edges 7 of these half-shells 9a, 9b.
The remote from the gap 17 ends of the female coupling elements 15a are formed in the first embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 12 as a spherical or bead-like male coupling elements 15b. In an alternative embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 14 to 16, no male coupling elements 15b are laterally provided subsequent to the female coupling elements 15a, and the male coupling elements 15b have the shape of cylindrical rods with convexly curved end portions.
Such as. 1 and 14, the male coupling element 15b of the second half-shell 3b can be pressed or clicked into the gap 17 between two female coupling elements 15a of the first half-shell 3a such that an articulated connection between the two half-shells 3a, 3b arises. In the first embodiment, the ball-like male coupling elements 15b have two degrees of freedom for rotational movements in the joint socket. In the second embodiment with rod-shaped male coupling elements 15b, however, analogous to a hinge, only one degree of freedom is given, which allows the opening and closing or simple pivoting movements of the can lid 5b.
The dimensions of the male coupling elements 15a are matched to the dimensions of the female coupling elements 15a and to the gap 17 formed by the female coupling elements 15a such that the male coupling elements 15b can be snapped or clicked into the gap 17 with elastic yielding of the female coupling elements 15a , The convexly curved regions of the male coupling elements 15b are then positively and non-positively in abutment with the concavely curved or designed as a pipe end regions of the female coupling elements 15a. The female coupling elements 15a act centering on the male coupling elements 15b.
The dimensions and materials are designed so that the mated or half-shells 3a, 3b due to the mutual frictional forces of the coupling elements 15a, 15b even when exposed to low forces or moments do not change their mutual position, but their mutual position easily with finger power a hand can be changed.
To close the box 1, the free male coupling elements 15b of each of the two half-shells 3a, 3b in the corresponding gaps 17 between the female coupling elements 15a at the respective other half-shell 3b, 3a clicked. The edges of the half-shells 3a, 3b and the carrier bands 9a, 9b, which adjoin one another when the can 1 is closed, are designed as closing edges 19, which are e.g. Sealing lips or with closed box 1 overlapping edge portions.
Figs. 2, 15, 16 and 18 show such closed cans. In FIGS. 7 to 12, only the carrier tapes 9a, 9b with the coupling elements 15 are shown, but not the can bottom 5a and the can lid 5b. Fig. 8 shows accordingly the situation with the box 1 closed without the sheet metal parts.
In further embodiments of the box 1, the sheet metal parts may include in addition to the half-shell shape inputs or outputs 21 (Fig. 13 to 16, 18 and 19). On the one hand, these improve the stability of the can 1 and, moreover, lend the can 1 a unique design. Furthermore, the can surfaces can be printed or otherwise colored. In particular, the impressions 21 and 21 may be designed in the shape of a pill and configured with one or more different colors.
It is also possible to print the cans with different letters or motifs, which can then be strung together later to form letters or words or combinations of motifs.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 18 and 19, the half shells 3a, 3b have a round shaped edge. FIGS. 20 and 21 show by way of example how the half-shells 3 a, 3 b of a plurality of cans 1 can be put together in any manner to form chains or other structures. In each case, the male coupling elements 15b of a half-shell 3a, 3b are inserted into the gaps 17 between two female coupling elements 15a of an adjacent half-shell 3a, 3b.
Furthermore, in addition to the half-shells 3a, 3b, connecting elements such as e.g. triangular or differently designed frame with a plurality of coupling elements 15a, 15b projecting thereon, which further increase the freedom of design when joining parts (no illustration). Additional elements such as e.g. Mirrors are designed so that you e.g. in the grooves 11a, 11b to the half-shells 3a, 3b can be attached (no representation). The cans 1 can be stored inside e.g. include first use protection in the form of a peelable plastic film (not shown).
