f1 = a1 x l1 + a2 x l2 + a3 x l3 + a4 x l4 + a5 x l5 + a6 x l6 + a7 x l7 + a8 x l8, wobei a1-a8 jeweils die Anzahl der Papier-Polster und l1-l8 jeweils die Länge der Papier-Polster bezeichnet. Jede der Funktionstasten 91, 92, 93 kann mit einem derartigen Programm belegt werden.
The invention relates to a control for a machine for producing paper pads or a machine for producing paper pads, comprising such a controller.
Paper cushions are used in large quantities for the packaging of goods for shipping and serve to protect the goods to be shipped. They have over the also relatively widespread plastic pads with air bubbles the advantage that paper has a much better environmental impact. Machines for producing paper pads are already known in various embodiments.
Basically, such a machine comprises a storage device, which consists of one or more rollers with single or multi-ply paper webs, a forming device, which deforms the paper webs by rolling the side edges to cushion strips, a connecting device which connects the cushion strip in the central region by means of embossing, a Cutting device which separates pads from the cushion strip, a drive device for driving the connecting device and the cutting device and a controller which controls the machine according to the specifications. For this, e.g. a mode switch provided.
In WO-A-99/36 252 such a machine is disclosed. This machine includes a connecting device with two sprockets and a mating gear, which mesh with each other and pull the paper webs through the forming device and also connect the cushion strips, a cutting means with mechanical means for accelerating the cutting movement, a drive motor which is connected via a transmission with the connecting device and can be connected via a magnetic coupling to the cutting device, and a control device with a mode switch.
These machines have the disadvantages that the production performance is low and the control effort is high. The reasons for this are on the one hand in the uniform movement or the achievable by the mechanical means low acceleration of the movement of the blade during cutting, which are the cause of paper jams, and on the other hand in mode switch, which makes the controller or a remote control consuming.
The invention as characterized in the claims is based on the object to improve a control for a machine for the production of paper cushions.
According to the invention, only one drive motor is provided in the machine, so the drive motor for transporting the paper webs is also used for actuating the cutting device. However, the cutting device must always be driven only when a cutting operation is to take place. For this purpose, the machine comprises a magnetic coupling, which at the time at which a cutting operation is to be activated, and the cutting device is coupled to the drive motor. If the cutting operation takes place, the magnetic coupling is deactivated again and thus the cutting device is disconnected from the drive motor again.
From the fact that the cutting device is coupled to the same drive motor during the cutting process, which also causes the transport of the paper webs, and this drive motor in an operating mode of the machine continuously transported paper webs, it follows immediately that for the cutting process only a very short period of time available stands. In order to keep this period short, so the magnetic coupling in a very short time coupling the cutting device to the drive motor, and after the cutting process, the magnetic coupling must disengage the cutter in a very short time again from the drive motor, with immediately after releasing the cooperating coupling parts with the help mechanical means is reset under acceleration.
Such magnetic couplings, which are conventional in themselves, have a coil which must be supplied very quickly with a sufficient amount of energy when coupling the cutting device to the drive motor. When coupling the cutting device namely with the help of the coil, a disc or a ring of the cutting device is pressed against a driven by the drive motor pulley or a ring (by electromagnetic attraction forces). For the time span in which the two disks or rings are pressed against each other, the disk of the cutting device is thus taken along, as long as the contact pressure force is large enough to transfer the torque from the disk or from the ring of the drive motor to the disk or the ring to transmit the cutting device, so that the disc or the ring of the cutting device can not slip.
The slice of the cutter may be connected to a lever mechanism which is actuated by the rotation of the disc or ring and drives the knife of the cutter through the pad strip and thus cuts a paper pad of a desired length from the pad strip.
After cutting, the knife must be withdrawn very quickly, since a continuous transport of cushion strips should be possible, which would be hindered by a long residence of the knife in the cutting position. For this purpose, however, the cutting device must be disconnected very quickly from the drive motor. Now, however, at this time in the magnetic field of the coil, a large amount of energy, because the coil must indeed be designed so that it produces a sufficiently strong magnetic field with coupled cutting device to generate the contact pressure, the torque of the drive motor on the Transfer disc or the ring of the cutter.
When switching off the power supply, the magnetic field of the coil due to the inductance of the coil is not abruptly degraded, because the inductance of this sudden change counteracts the energy supply to the coil.
The control of the machine is designed for this purpose so that when coupled immediately supplied the magnetic coupling (or the coil of the magnetic coupling) with the required amount of energy so that the cutting device is immediately coupled to the drive motor and the torque can transmit immediately. Furthermore, the control of the machine is also designed so that it after the time period in which the cutter has cut the pad strip, the energy from the magnetic coupling (or from the coil of the magnetic coupling) immediately dissipates, so The knife can be immediately pulled back out of the cutting position with the help of mechanical return springs.
For this purpose, the controller may comprise a supply unit and a power unit, wherein the supply unit provides the required energy to the coil of the magnetic coupling with the required energy at the time when the coupling is to be made by means of the magnetic coupling to the drive motor to supply. The power unit switches this energy immediately to the coil of the magnetic coupling. If the predetermined period has elapsed, which is required for the driving of the knife of the cutting device through the cushion strip, the power unit immediately carries the energy from the coil back from this.
To provide the required energy, the feed unit advantageously comprises a step-up converter and the power unit is provided with a Tranzorb diode circuit for dissipating the energy from the coil.
Furthermore, the controller may comprise a control panel connected to the machine, on which by means of individual keys of the respective desired operating mode of the machine is directly adjustable, without - as in the prior art - a separate mode switch is provided. This makes the operation of the machine even easier.
In addition, the controller may be provided with one or more remote controls, with which the operation of the machine can be started or optionally stopped in a specific mode. This is advantageous in that then on the control panel, the individual operating modes can be programmed, and afterwards the operations staff from another location (eg from the location of the output device for the paper pad) with the help of the remote start only the production of paper pads or can finish again.
Further advantageous embodiments will become apparent from the following explanation of embodiments of the invention with reference to the drawing. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of the feed unit of the inventive control, FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the power unit of the inventive control, FIG. 3 shows an exemplary embodiment of a control panel of the control according to the invention, which is connected to the machine for producing paper cushions 4 is an embodiment of a remote control for starting or stopping the operation of the machine in a particular mode.
As already mentioned, the machine for producing paper pads contains a drive motor for driving the connecting device as well as the cutting device via the magnetic coupling. As also already mentioned, the magnetic coupling must immediately connect the cutting device to the drive motor and disconnect immediately after the cutting operation, so that operation in a mode in which a continuous paper feed is possible. The feed rate of the paper may be, for example, 500 mm / s, and in such cases, a typical period of time during which the cutter is coupled to the drive motor may be about 80 to 100 milliseconds.
For this purpose, the controller must immediately supply a sufficiently large amount of energy to the coil of the magnetic coupling during coupling and dissipate the energy contained in the magnetic field of the coil immediately when uncoupling.
The control can for this purpose comprise a feed unit 1 and a power unit 2, an embodiment for a feed unit 1 being shown in FIG. 1 and an embodiment of the power unit 2 of the inventive control in FIG.
In the embodiment of the feed unit 1 in Fig. 1 it can be seen that this is designed as a step-up converter 3 (also called "step-up converter"). The boost converter 3 has at the input to a DC voltage of here forty volts, which can be obtained for example by Doppelweggleichrichtung from the mains voltage. To control the coil of the magnetic coupling but a DC HV of fifty volts, for example, at the output of the supply unit is required and of course, a corresponding current can be provided so that the coil of the magnetic coupling can immediately connect the cutter to the drive motor or the magnetic field of the coil immediately has enough energy to effect this coupling.
The rectified voltage of forty volts must therefore be set to fifty volts, which causes the boost converter 3 shown in Fig. 1.
But now - as mentioned above - a sufficiently large current for the coil of the magnetic coupling can be provided very quickly to ensure an immediate coupling of the cutting device to the drive motor (sufficiently large contact force to transmit the torque), because only then the lever mechanism (see explanation further forward) is actuated, which drives the knife of the cutting device through the pad strip. For this purpose, the supply unit 1 on the output side comprises a plurality of capacitors 4 which are charged in the period in which the coil of the magnetic coupling is de-energized (cutting device uncoupled). Furthermore, it can be seen at the output of the circuit still two blocking diodes 5, which will be discussed in connection with the uncoupling.
Considering now briefly the embodiment of the power unit 2 shown in FIG. 2 of the inventive control, it can be seen that the voltage HV (in the embodiment described above, the DC voltage of fifty volts, measured against ground potential) at one pole of the coil 6 of Magnetic clutch applied, in the de-energized state (cutting device uncoupled) is then so at the other pole of the coil 6 also a DC voltage of fifty volts (measured against ground potential).
If now a cutting operation, the coil 6 must be supplied immediately with enough energy to cause the coupling of the cutting device to the drive motor. For this purpose, ground potential is applied to the other pole of the coil 6 by means of the circuit breaker 7, which is embodied here as an IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor), so that a voltage of fifty volts is present across the coil 8 immediately. Now, however, a sufficiently large current must flow through the coil in order to build up the magnetic field of the coil immediately. The charge stored in the capacitors 4 of the supply unit 1, which is immediately available after switching the IGBT, is then used until the step-up converter 3 supplies the required current.
Such a feed unit 1 designed as a boost converter is advantageous in that it does not affect the typical fluctuations of the mains voltage because the boost converter always keeps the output voltage constant at e.g. set fifty volts. If one were to dimension a simple full wave rectifier to an output voltage of fifty volts and the line voltage would then fluctuate downwards by ten percent, this could lead to an insufficient voltage being available at the output. This is avoided by the step-up converter because it always has the same output voltage of e.g. fifty volts is set.
Thus, an immediate supply of the coil 6 with the required energy and thus an immediate structure of the magnetic field of the coil 8 is ensured, whereby an immediate coupling of the cutting device is ensured to the drive motor to perform the cutting process immediately. The time required to perform the cutting process can be specified. In principle, it depends on the speed of the drive motor (or any reduction with a gearbox is to be considered) and on the design of the lever mechanism, because ultimately determines the speed of the drive motor and the design of the lever mechanism, for which period the disc or Ring of the cutter must be taken by the drive motor to drive the knife of the cutter through the pad strip.
Now, if the time has elapsed, which is required to drive the knife through the pad strip, the cutter must be disconnected immediately from the drive motor, so that the knife via the lever mechanism, for. can be returned to its starting position with the help of return springs from the cutting position.
For this purpose, the energy from the magnetic field of the coil 6 must be removed immediately after the cutting process. For this purpose, the voltage at the other pole of the coil is again set from earth potential to fifty volts. The switching process creates a voltage spike that can be several hundred volts.
However, the height of this voltage peak must be limited, on the one hand not to destroy the insulation of the coil and on the other hand to protect the IGBT circuit breaker 7, because at the same time as much current should flow out of the coil, so that the energy from the magnetic field Spool is removed immediately so that after cutting the cutting device is immediately disconnected again from the drive motor and from the cutting position on the lever mechanism (eg with the help of return springs) can be reset.
For this purpose, the power unit 2 is provided with a Tranzorb diode circuit 8 which limits the magnitude of the voltage, e.g. to a voltage of three hundred and fifty volts, but it just keeps as long as possible to dissipate the energy from the magnetic field of the coil 6 as quickly as possible. The height to which the Tranzorb diode circuit 8 limits the voltage is chosen so that the voltage can not destroy the insulation of the coil and on the other hand, the IGBT circuit breaker is protected from damage.
If the entire energy is removed from the magnetic field of the coil, both poles of the coil 6 are again at the same potential, namely at fifty volts (cutting device is disconnected from the drive motor). Thus, the voltage peak in the supply unit 1 can cause no damage, the output side in the supply unit 1, the blocking diodes 5 are provided, which have been already mentioned above, but without explaining their function.
As already mentioned above, the controller according to the invention may comprise a control panel 9, which is fixedly connected to the machine for producing the paper upholstery With the aid of this control panel 9, for example, the various operating modes can be programmed. The control panel also has a display 90, which may be formed for example as an LCD display.
It can be seen in Fig. 3 further four function keys 91, 92, 93, 94 with which various operating modes can be programmed. Thus, it is possible, for example, to assign the function keys 91, 92, 93 with different programs which each produce a certain number of paper pads of a certain length as soon as the release button 95 has been actuated. For example, each function key may be populated with up to eight different combinations of number and length of paper pads to be made, e.g.
f1 = a1 × l1 + a2 × l2 + a3 × l3 + a4 × l4 + a5 × l5 + a6 × l6 + a7 × l7 + a8 × l8, where a1-a8 respectively denote the number of paper pads and l1-l8 respectively denotes the length of the paper pad. Each of the function keys 91, 92, 93 can be assigned to such a program.
The function key 94 is occupied in the embodiment shown here with the so-called "donor mode". In order to enable this mode of operation, a sensor must be provided in the paper chute (output device), which signals whether or not an already cut paper cushion is available for removal in the paper chute. Only when the paper pad present in the paper tray has been removed by the forwarding personnel, the machine automatically produces the next paper pad.
Keys 98, 97, and 98 are confirmation and clear keys, respectively, which can confirm, correct, or delete input during programming. The remaining keys of the control panel 9 shown in Fig. 3 are decimal number keys as well as a decimal point key and a minus key for a negative sign.
4, an embodiment of a remote control 10 is shown, which may also be part of the controller, for each program corresponding to the function keys 91, 92, 93 of the control panel 9 may be provided its own remote control and this is preferably the case. The remote control 10 includes a power button 100, with which the machine can be made operational after turning on the main switch. Furthermore, the remote control 10 comprises a memory button 101, an automatic button 102, a "manual" button 103 for manual operation, and an "emergency stop" button 104 for an emergency shutdown of the machine.
In the manual mode of operation, the user holds the manual button 103 pressed until the pad strip is the desired length. Then, when the user releases the manual button 103, the pad strip is cut to the paper pad of the desired length. Thereafter, the user may create a paper pad of a different length by holding down the manual button 103 again until the pad strip has the desired length, and so on.
If, on the other hand, a paper pad is to be produced again which has the length of the paper pad previously produced, the memory button 101 can be pressed after the first paper pad has been produced. Subsequently, the user only needs to briefly touch the manual button 103 and a paper pad is automatically produced, which has the stored length of the previously generated paper pad. This operating mode is called semi-automatic mode.
If, however, a stored program according to one of the function keys 91, 92, 93 of the control panel 9 is to be executed with the remote control 10, the user must press the automatic key 102 and the respective associated program is executed.
For example, if a program has been executed, it is readily possible to switch to manual mode without switching a mode selector switch. Conversely, it is also possible to change from the manual or semi-automatic operating mode to the fully automatic operating mode in which the stored program is executed. Again, this is possible without switching a mode selector, unlike prior art machines where a separate mode selector switch must be operated to change from one mode of operation to another.
Of course, a manual key 103a and an emergency stop button 104a and a memory button 101a and the corresponding keys 100a and 102a may also be provided on the machine front and in particular at the control panel, as indicated by dashed lines in Fig. 3. Preferably, this is also the case, so that the user can optionally use a remote control or the operation can also be done directly on the machine.
