Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a template by means of which envelopes can be produced by serving to cut out a shape from a paper, a semi-cardboard or a foil material, which is subsequently turned into an envelope by folding and gluing.
] Envelopes or envelopes can be bought in department stores, stationery and specialty shops. They are usually white or in a uniform color and are actually designed without imagination. They are generally included with ready-made cards. So far, everyone has had to limit themselves to the available envelopes, unless especially creative people cut their own papers and fold them into their own envelopes.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a template for producing envelopes, which allows the simple and safe cutting of paper, half-cardboard and film material, so that it can be folded and glued to an individual envelope afterwards.
] This object is achieved by a template for producing envelopes from paper, semi-cardboard and film material, which is characterized in that it consists of a flat plastic plate, which has a rectangular area marked with lines, which corresponds to the format of the envelope to be produced corresponds to the fact that on each side of this rectangle there is a flap, which runs from the side of the rectangle on both sides at a slightly acute angle and then at an acute angle to the outside, and that two adjacent flaps are dimensioned so that the material cut out lengthways its neighboring edges overlapped by 180 ° when folded.
] An advantageous embodiment of the invention and its use, as well as the work result achieved are shown in the drawings.
Es zeigt: Fig. 1: Eine Gesamtansicht einer erfindungsgemässen Schablone; Fig. 2: Die Herstellung des Briefumschlages aus der zugeschnittenen Form; Fig. 3: Den fertigen Briefumschlag. 1 shows an overall view of a template according to the invention; Fig. 2: The production of the envelope from the cut shape; Fig. 3: The finished envelope.
1, the template 1 is shown in a perspective top view. It is made of a plastic plate in a thickness or thickness 2 of 2 mm to 3 mm, which allows cutting along the edge 6 of the template 1 with a suitable cutting knife. The recessed corners 3 serve a dual purpose. On the one hand, they define the corners of the envelope to be produced, and on the other hand, they indicate the connecting lines 4, here marked with dashed lines, as later folding lines 4. The flaps a, b, c, d beyond the defined rectangle form the shape for the flaps a, b, c, d later to be folded into an envelope. The template 1 is advantageously made of a transparent plastic, for example of acrylic glass. It can therefore be placed on top of an image, and thanks to its transparent material, the image can be seen. The template 1 is thus placed, for example, on the photograph on a calendar sheet, and by moving the rectangle defined by dashed lines 4, the image section which is to form the entire page of the later envelope can be selected exactly. After positioning the template 1 on the desired image, the photo paper underneath - but it can also be an illustrated or patterned half-cardboard or a film material - is cut out along the edge 6 of the template 1 using a sharp cutter. Advantageously, the template 1 has holes 8 centered there at the corners of the rectangle defined by the lines 4, in order to facilitate access with the knife to the corners for cutting out. For easier handling, the template 1 can be equipped on the top of one of its tabs a, b, c, d with a handle 9 for carrying and lifting away the template 1.
2 shows the production of the envelope with the shape cut out in this way. The flaps a, b and c are folded by 180 °. The flap c is unfolded again, coated with a little glue at the edges, folded over and glued to the flaps a and b already lying there. The shape of the flaps is designed in such a way that two adjacent flaps overlap each other when folded by 180 ° and can therefore be glued along their adjacent edges. The last tab d is only folded over, but not yet glued. It can be inserted into the inside of the envelope 5 as a cover for the closure of the finished envelope 5, or it can be glued to the outside of the opened envelope 5.
Fig. 3 shows the finished envelope 5 with the overlap areas between the bold lines 7 and the dashed lines 10. The back of this envelope can now have any images selected and therefore allows the template 1 presented here to produce individual envelopes.
] Depending on the envelope color, the address can be given with a dark or light pen or on a label stuck on. The address and sender labels are stuck on the side with the tabs a, b, c, d. Swiss Post simply regards the side of the envelope that bears the labels as the front. The selected image therefore appears uncovered and fully on the undamaged back and thus comes into its own. The size of the usable envelope area is not specified anywhere and is only theoretically limited, but it makes sense to adhere to C formats. Swiss Post does not make any regulations regarding its surface design either. There are hardly any limits to the choice of materials for the envelope cutter. Gift and cupboard papers, waste paper such as newspapers, magazines, old maps, calendars, posters etc. are suitable as materials. The stencils can be used by children in the lower school age by tracing the shape and cutting out the paper with scissors, as well as by practicing cutters who know how to use the cutter.
