Fig. 2 eine Seitenansicht des Kupplungsstückes,
Fig. 3 eine Draufsicht auf das Kupplungsstück,
Fig. 4 eine perspektivische Ansicht des Hebels,

Fig. 9 eine Schnittansicht des Verriegelungshebels nach Fig. 4.
The invention relates to a trailer coupling, in particular for bicycle trailers, with a first coupling element to be fastened to a towing vehicle, with a second coupling element which can be fastened to a tiller piece and is complementary to the first coupling element, the first coupling element and the second coupling element intermeshing in the coupling.
Various trailer couplings for bicycle trailers are known from the prior art. Bicycle trailers of this type are intended on the one hand for transporting loads, and on the other hand such trailers are increasingly being used for transporting small children. The usual two-wheel trailers have a rear tiller piece, which is connected to the chassis or frame of the trailer. A front drawbar piece is attached to this rear drawbar piece, which ends in a coupling which can be fastened in the area of the rear wheel hub or on a bicycle stand or its elements provided there or on the lower and / or upper rear wheel strut. Such an attachment has the advantage over an attachment to the seat post below the saddle that the luggage rack of the bicycle remains free for use.
It is known from the prior art to attach a clutch plate to the rear wheel struts. Then a coupling piece, e.g. attached via a clutch spring, which has a hole through which a ring nut with screw can be inserted. This ring nut with screw is screwed through the coupling piece and the coupling plates attached to the wheel.
Such an attachment is complex and not user-friendly for the user. On the one hand, it takes a long time to screw the screw into the thread provided. On the other hand, no play-free connection can be guaranteed despite tightening the screw. If, on the other hand, the screw is tightened by a strong user, it may be impossible for a subsequent possibly physically weaker user of the bicycle to release the trailer coupling and to leave the trailer as desired.
Starting from this prior art, the invention is based on the object of improving a trailer coupling of the type mentioned in such a way that it is more user-friendly.
This object is achieved according to the invention for a trailer coupling according to the preamble of claim 1 in that one of the coupling elements has a recess, the other coupling element has a space which is complementary to the one coupling element and accommodates it, and that said other coupling element has a lever, which can be pivoted into said recess.
By using a lever, the previous screwing movement is replaced by a simple pivoting. In addition, the trailer coupling according to the invention has the advantage that the coupling piece can now be attached to the coupling plate fastened to the bicycle without play.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the dependent claims.
The invention will now be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings in terms of a preferred embodiment. Show it:
1 is a perspective view of the coupling piece with lever,
2 is a side view of the coupling piece,
3 is a plan view of the coupling piece,
4 is a perspective view of the lever,
5 is a perspective view of the coupling head attached to a coupling plate,
6 is a schematic diagram of the coupling piece placed on the coupling head,
7 is a schematic diagram corresponding to FIG. 6 with a lever in motion for locking,
Fig. 8 is a schematic diagram corresponding to Fig. 6 of the locked trailer hitch, and
9 is a sectional view of the locking lever of FIG .. 4
1 shows a perspective view of the trailer coupling according to an embodiment of the invention. The coupling piece is designated as such with the reference number 1. This has a receiving tube 2, in which a bore 3 is provided, into which a drawbar piece of a trailer, not shown in the drawings, can be inserted. Bores 4 and 5 in the receiving tube serve to lock the tiller piece in the coupling piece 1.
If the drawbar has a coupling spring, it can be integrated separately or in a correspondingly divided two-part coupling piece 1. The coupling piece 1 merges from the receiving tube 2 into a locking extension 6, which extends at an angle of approximately 45 ° to the receiving tube 2. The locking piece 6 comprises a recess 7 cut from above, into which a locking lever 8 is inserted. This locking lever 8 is rotatable about an axis 9, in other words, the reference numeral 9 denotes a bearing pin which extends transversely through the locking piece 6 and is essentially flush with it. The reference number 10 denotes a securing bolt, the function of which will become clearer in the further description.
The locking lever 8 has the operating handle 11 as such and an opening handle 12 which is movable with respect to the operating handle 11.
FIG. 2 shows the coupling piece 1 from FIG. 1 in a front view, which is partially cut. The same features have the same reference symbols in all the figures. As can be clearly seen, the coupling piece 1 has in its locking section 6 a recess 13 which is arranged on the opposite side facing away from the receiving tube 2. This recess 13 is thus on the two-wheeler, e.g. a bike geared towards it. From Fig. 3, a top view of the coupling piece 1, it can be clearly seen that a slot-shaped recess 7 is provided which divides the locking piece 6 into two shoulder halves 14 and 15.
In the illustrated embodiment, the recess 13 is an opening with an oval cross section, into which the coupling head shown in FIG. 5 can be inserted essentially without play. Said recess 7 does not have to be provided from above, it can also be provided from below or from the side, the position of the depression 33 according to FIG. 5, of course, having to be adapted accordingly.
FIG. 4 shows the locking lever 8 in a perspective view. The operating handle 11 and the opening handle 12 can be clearly distinguished. The lever 8 is preferably an injection molded part with an integrated spring function. The spring function is achieved by means of the narrow web 17, so that the opening handle 12 enlarges the opening designated by reference numeral 18 by movement in the direction of the actuating handle 11 of the locking lever 8. As can be seen in particular from FIGS. 6 to 8, an element can thus be inserted into the cavity 18 via the ramp or beak 19 of the opening handle 12. This element is the securing bolt 10 mentioned in FIG. 1.
The locking lever 8 has a bore 20 through which the bearing pin 9 is inserted during assembly. Functionally important is the tongue 21 of the lever, which has an outer radius designated by reference number 22. This curvature changes at location 23 into a curvature 24 with a slightly changed radius of curvature. In particular, however, the centers of curvature of the sections 22 and sections 24 lie somewhat away from the center point of the bore 20, as can be seen from FIG. 9.
5 shows a coupling head 26 which is fastened to a coupling plate 27. The clutch plate 27 here has two bores 28 and 29, with the aid of which it can be fastened, for example, to the rear wheel struts of the bicycle via a second clutch plate. The coupling head 26 has two openings 30 and 31, each of which has a through bore 32 with which the coupling head 26 can be fastened in the coupling plate 27 via correspondingly provided bores. The coupling head 26 is oval in cross section and has the same dimensions as the bore 13, so that it can be inserted into it essentially without play. On the upper side, the coupling head 26 has a concave recess 33 with smooth side walls corresponding to the exception in the locking piece 6.
A web 34 or 35 thus remains on both sides of the trough 33. The radius of curvature of the concave recess or trough 33 corresponds to the radius of curvature of the section 24 of the tongue 21 of the locking lever 8. The interaction of these two elements will become clearer when considering the figures that follow.
6 to 8 show sketches of the principle of operation of the trailer coupling. Fig. 6 shows the trailer coupling in the open position, the coupling head 26 is pushed into the recess 13 until it stops. This happens when the locking lever 8 is open. The trough 33 is empty. The tongue 22 lies directly next to the safety pin 10 or touches it. In the illustrated embodiment, the locking lever 8 abuts a stop in the region 36.
During a closing movement according to FIG. 7, the locking lever 8 is moved in the direction of the arrow 37, the opening handle 12 being automatically moved against the actuating handle 11 when the saddle surface 19 presses against the securing bolt 10. As can be clearly seen from FIG. 7, the section 22 of the tongue 21 of the locking lever 8 nestles into the recess 33. During the closing process, the opening 18 of the opening handle 12 engages in the securing bolt 10, so that a positive locking occurs. At the same time, the section 24 of the tongue 21 or its full-body extension is pushed into the recess 33, so that the locking lever 8 prestresses the coupling head 26 against the coupling piece 1 and likewise produces a positive connection.
The resilient lever tongue 21 results in a slight frictional engagement, which reliably prevents the clutch from rattling due to the presence of play. With this eccentric closure, the eccentrics of the elements 22 and 24 involved in the locking lever 8 are preselected so that self-locking occurs and no opening forces can arise.
FIG. 9 shows the eccentrics in a sectional view through a locking lever 8 according to FIG. 4. It can be clearly seen that the centers of curvature 40 and 41 of the radii R1 and R2 are both at a distance from the center 20 of the bore or Wave 9 stand. An operating play between coupling piece 1 and coupling head 26 is thus eliminated on the one hand by the coupling according to the invention and on the other hand the locking lever 8 engages in a form-fitting manner.
A screw connection is thus not necessary and the coupling can be released by actively pressing the opening handle 12 in the direction of the actuating handle 11, wherein after the opening 18 has been loosened from the securing bolt 10, the section 24 producing the positive connection is released from the recess 33 , this is replaced by the tongue 21 with its resilient section 22, which loses its non-positive connection due to its other eccentricity, and finally completely clears the recess 33 so that the coupling head 26 can be removed laterally from the recess 13.
The father piece, the coupling head 26, is preferably attached to the bicycle and the nut piece 1 is accordingly provided on the drawbar. However, this can also be configured the other way around. The coupling head 26 can also have any other shape in addition to the oval, in particular it can be a cuboid. The trough 33, which runs essentially transversely to the direction of insertion of the male piece into the female piece, is functionally important. This trough direction also specifies the orientation of the locking lever 8, which, in addition to the configuration with a tongue, can also be made of a solid material in a simple embodiment.
