The invention relates to a premixing gas burner according to the preamble of claim 1.
In such gas burners, a single mixture space is provided, which is connected directly to the pressure side of the fan. In a modulating operation of such a known burner, it is therefore necessary to control the supply of the fuel gas / air mixture to the mixture space accordingly. The problem arises here that the stability of the combustion suffers in such a modulating operation.
The aim of the invention is to avoid this disadvantage and to provide a forced draft burner of the type mentioned at the outset and to propose a burner which can be operated in a modulating manner within a wide range and which burns stably even at a low load.
According to the invention, this is achieved in a gas burner of the type mentioned at the outset by the characterizing features of claim 1.
The proposed measures make it possible to achieve modulation of the burner or a reduction in the load on the burner by interrupting the mixture supply to parts of the burner surface. This partial area can be operated at full power, that is to say the mixture can be supplied to the remaining partial area or partial spaces of the burner at the pressure corresponding to the full power of the burner. This ensures that the areas of the burner remaining in operation are operated with the area load corresponding to the full output. This enables stable burner operation.
The mixture space can be connected to the pressure side of a blower. However, it is also possible to arrange the fan on the exhaust side or to omit it entirely, so that the mixture is fed to the mixture chamber or the burner plate due to the suction effect of the fan or the thermal buoyancy.
The features of claim 5 have the advantage that multi-stage modulation of the burner is possible in a simple manner.
The features of claim 6 result in a very simple design solution.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Show:

5 and 6 atmospheric gas burners,
7a and 7b a detail,
8 and 9 further embodiments of gas forced draft burners,
10a and 10b a detail and
11 and 12 further variants of the invention.
The same reference numerals mean the same details in all figures.
In a burner according to FIG. 1, a mixture chamber 2, which is closed off by a burner plate 1a, 1b, is connected to the pressure side of a blower 3, which draws in air via the suction side 9 and to which gas is supplied via a gas line 17 and a gas fitting 13.
In this case, a flap 7, which can be pivoted about an eccentrically arranged axis 8, is arranged in the mixing chamber 2, with which part of the burner plate 1a, 1b can be shut off from the mixture supply, which takes place via a mixture line 18 to the mixing chamber 2. In this case, in a vertical position of the flap 7, the entire surface of the burner plate 1a, 1b can also be acted upon with mixture. If the axis 8 is not provided on the burner plate 1, the flap 7 can slide on the burner plate 1 with its edge facing away from the axis 8, so that regions of the burner plate can be released or blocked continuously.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that the mixture space 2 is divided by a partition wall 4, an area delimited by the partition wall 4 being lockable with a flap 7. With this flap, part of the burner plate 1a, 1b can optionally be shut off.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the blower 3 is arranged on the exhaust side. It is therefore a fan-assisted atmospheric gas burner. All burners dealt with here can work partially or fully premixed. The mixture chamber 2, which is divided by a partition 4, is connected to a fresh air pipe 6, into which a gas line 17 opens.
The partition 4 projects into the fresh air pipe 6, one of these partial cross sections of the fresh air pipe 6 being closable with the flap 7. This flap 7 is controllable via a controller 12 and connected to it via a control line 14.
The burner 1a, 1b is installed in a shaft 21, in which a primary heat exchanger 11 is also arranged, and which is covered with an exhaust gas hood 20, in which the fan 3 is arranged, which conveys the exhaust gases into a chimney 19.
The burner 10 according to the invention according to FIG. 4 has a burner plate 1 which covers a mixture space 2. This mixture space 2 is divided by partitions 4 into sub-spaces 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e.
These subspaces 2a to 2e are connected to the pressure side of the blower 3 via lines. This sucks in air via a fresh air line 6 and admixes this gas, which is supplied to the blower 3 via the gas line 17.
The fuel gas-air mixture reaches the sub-chambers 2a to 2e via the lines in which actuators are arranged in the form of individually controllable flaps 7. The flaps 7 are connected to the controller 12 via control lines 14 and are controlled by the latter.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the blower 3 is arranged on the mixture side of the burner 1, so that the burner plate 1 is connected to the pressure side of the blower 3.
Here, a collecting hood 15 is arranged below the primary heat exchanger 11 and is provided with an exhaust pipe 19.
When the burner is operating at full load, all the flaps 7 are open, so that all of the compartments 2a to 2e are supplied with a fuel gas / air mixture, this mixture escaping and burning through the outlet openings of the burner plate 1 in the corresponding areas 1a to 1e of the burner plate 1. If the output of the burner 1 is to be reduced, one or more of the flaps 7, which can be pivoted about axes 8, are brought into the closed position shown and thus the mixture supply in the corresponding period 2a to 2e or the corresponding subspaces is prevented and thus the corresponding area 1a to 1e of the burner plate 1 is shut down. Each of the subareas 2a to 2e that remain in operation can be subjected to the pressure provided for full-load operation.
The blower 3 can be operated in such a way that the pressure at the outlet of the blower 3 is kept constant. Since the cross-section for the gas-air mixture is reduced by closing flaps 7 when the output of the burner 1 is reduced, the volume delivered per unit time of the mixture also decreases with the pressure remaining the same. A corresponding reduction in the performance of the entire burner 1 is also associated with this.
In other words, in the case of a burner 1 according to the invention, its active combustion surface is reduced when its output is reduced, the active surfaces of the burner plate 1, that is to say those whose associated subspaces 2a to 2e are acted upon by a fuel gas / air mixture, being operated at full load can. This results in a correspondingly high efficiency of the burner and a correspondingly low emission of pollutants.
5 is also a fully premixed atmospheric gas burner, but one whose burner body consists of individual sheet metal elements. Such a sheet metal element 25 is shown in FIG. 5. There are a variety of such sheet metal elements side by side, between which spaces can be provided, but do not have to. A plurality of mixture outlet openings 27 are arranged on the top side 26 of the individual sheet metal elements, through which the gas-air mixture emerges and is burned. The individual sheet metal elements 25 are fed by a plurality of injector tubes 28 which have gas-air mixture outlets 29 at their upper end.
The construction and mode of operation of this fully premixed atmospheric gas burner are similar to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, only the burner, in contrast to the one according to FIG. 4, is not designed as a fall burner. The individual injectors have venturi-like narrow points 30, which lead to widening injector inlets 31. Individual gas nozzles 33 are aligned with these at a distance 32. A gas flow ._VG emerges from the outlets 34 of the gas nozzle, to which an air flow ._VL is admixed due to the injector action of the gas nozzle. The individual gas nozzles are connected to gas sub-lines 35, in each of which a single gas sub-valve 36 is arranged. These gas sub-valves are connected to the common gas supply line 17.
The individual gas sub-valves are assigned solenoid coils 37, all of which are controlled by the control 12 designed as a microprocessor via a control line 14. The mode of operation is such that the individual gas sub-valves 36 can either fully open or fully close. A quasi-continuous mode of operation of the burner can thus be achieved, namely because individual sheet metal parts can be cut off from the gas-air mixture supply or opened. The continuity of the modulation is all the more guaranteed, the more you divide the individual areas of the burner and the more injector pipes with associated gas sub-valves are provided.
The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6 is a partially premixed atmospheric gas burner, so that it is necessary here to supply the portion of air which is necessary for the complete combustion of the gas in some other way. This is conveniently done between the individual sheet metal elements 25, which are not shown here. The modification of this embodiment according to FIG. 6 compared to that according to FIG. 5 lies in the other drive of the gas valves. Valve plates 38 are assigned to the openings 34 of the gas nozzles, which can be folded away via a lever mechanism 39, which is movable in a joint 40, or can be placed on the opening 35. A piezo element serves as the drive for this, and a relay would also not be excluded.
When actuated via the respective control line 14, the piezo element or the electromagnet is activated and the valve plate 38 is either lifted from the associated opening 34 or placed on it. It is also possible in this way to supply or shut down the individual injector tubes 28 with a gas-air mixture.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 7a or b, gas nozzles 33 are permanently assigned to the individual injector tubes 28, which are again designed as sheet metal parts in accordance with the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 5 and 6. These gas nozzles are either covered or released by a slide 42. The slide moves into the gap 32 between the gas nozzles and the inlets 31 of the injector tubes 28. It has a tooth pitch 43 in which a gear 44 engages. If the gear 44 is put into operation by a motor which corresponds in its effect to the elements 41 or 37, a selectable number of gas nozzles 33 are closed or released. This makes it possible to supply the individual injector tubes 28 with a gas-air mixture or to exclude them therefrom.
According to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 7b, it is also possible to provide, instead of a single slide 42, two partial slides 45 which converge or move away from one another and which are provided with a drive analogous to elements 43 and 44.
The fully premixed gas burner according to FIG. 8 is in turn equipped as a forced draft burner. The blower 3 draws in a gas-air mixture and presses it into the mixture space 2 via a line 46. The mixture space 2 is formed within a hollow cylindrical burner body 47, which is similar in its effect to the burner plate 1. The fuel mixture outlet openings 27 are arranged in rows on the jacket 48. An immersion body 49 dips into the interior of the mixture chamber 2, the outer periphery of which is sealed off from the inner periphery of the burner body 47, so that the theoretical gap 50 becomes zero. At this point, the system must be gas-tight. A motor 51 is provided which is controlled by the line 14 and which positions the immersion body 49 in its height via a worm rod 52.
The higher the immersion body 49 is moved, the more rows of mixture outlet openings 27 are free, and the gas-air mixture can escape through them. The deeper the immersion body 49 is lowered, the smaller the total area of all fuel mixture outlet openings that are still free. In this way, the overall output of the burner is quasi continuously increased or decreased. The scale 53 arranged next to the figure illustrates the increase or decrease in power during the movement of the immersion body 49.
9 is a ceramic surface burner, the burner plate 1 of which has the individual fuel mixture outlet openings 27 in a manner not shown. The burner is built as a fall burner. The top 53 of the burner plate 1 is covered by a burner hood 54, in the interior 55 of which the mixture space 2 is formed. Compared to the top 53 of the burner plate, the mixture space 2 is more or less covered by an iris diaphragm 56, with the exception of a free space 57 which can be smaller or larger depending on the position of the iris diaphragm. In the largest version it corresponds to the maximum output of the burner, in the smallest version it is closed. The iris diaphragm is controlled by the motor 51, the iris diaphragm is adjusted via the rod 52.
The gas-air mixture ._VG, L is fed in the direction of arrow 58 from the blower 3 (not shown here) to the mixture space 2. This design makes it possible to control the burner output fully continuously and not in stages as in previous exemplary embodiments.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 10 a and b it can be seen that the iris diaphragm 56 is to be replaced by a slide 59. According to the exemplary embodiment 10a, the slide 59 has no passages, but according to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 10b, recesses 60 have a rectangular cross section. These recesses are positioned in the slide 59 in the same way as the fuel mixture outlet openings 27 in the burner plate 1 underneath. If the openings 60 are aligned with the openings 27 in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 10b, the burner is operated with the greatest possible output. If the slide is displaced more or less with respect to the burner plate 1, then there is a lateral offset of the openings 60 to the openings 27, so that the burner is operated with reduced output over the entire combustion surface.
However, it is also possible to operate the burner according to FIG. 10b in such a way that part of the burner plate 1 is not overlapped by the slide 59 and part is covered. This results in a full gas-air throughput through the areas of the burner plate 1 not covered by the slide 59, while a partial area of the burner plate and the fuel mixture outlet openings 27 located there under the slide 59 are not or only partially supplied with a gas-air mixture. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 10 a, only individual areas of the burner plate 1 are covered or released.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 11, the burner plate 1 is formed from individual, directly adjacent segments 61. These individual segments can rest in a metal grid that holds them together. This makes it easy to replace the segments. The segments are thus positioned in a type of grid, a gas-air supply being assigned to each individual burner plate segment 61. This consists of a cover 62, the interior 63 of which is supplied via the mixture feed line 46, a gas-air mixture. This line 46 is controlled by a valve 64, the magnetic drive 65 of which is controlled by the control line 40. It is thus possible to supply or shut down each of the individual segments with a gas-air mixture.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 12, the burner plate 1 is made in one piece, and is made of ceramic analogously to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 11. The burner plate 1 has a plurality of gas-air mixture outlet openings 27 over the entire area. Each of the gas-air mixture outlet openings 27 is assigned a mixture tube 46, which can be closed or opened by a valve 64. The valves are again assigned magnets 65, which - as already described - can be controlled via the line 14 via the controller 12. It is thus possible to subdivide the entire burner plate 1 into a plurality of partial burners corresponding to the individual mixture outlet openings 25 and to be able to control them all individually.
Such relatively small valves, as they are used here, are also known in ink jet printers.
