The subject of the present invention is a closure and tightening device for a ski boot comprising a tensioning lever articulated by one of its ends on a base intended to be fixed to a first part of the boot, a tie rod attached at a point. intermediate of the tensioning lever and the means of attachment to a second shoe part.
Such a device is described, for example, in US Pat. No. 4,051,611. It includes a tie rod provided with a loop which hooks into a rack. In such a device, snow can easily penetrate and collect in the joints, between the tie rod and the tensioning lever, and in the loop hooked in the rack. On the other hand, such a closure and tightening device does not have a smooth and continuous appearance as is sought in current shoes for reasons of aesthetics and safety.
The object of the invention is to obviate the drawbacks noted above.
To this end, the applicant has thought of covering the tensioner lever and its tie rod with a cover. However, taking into account the variation in length of the tie rod due to the actuation of the adjustment means of the device, as well as the relative movement of the tensioner lever and the tie rod during the opening and closing of the device, it was necessary find a construction allowing variation of width and relative displacement.
The closure and tightening device according to the invention is characterized in that it further comprises a cover connecting the tensioning lever by means of attachment by covering, at least partially the tie rod, one of the ends of this cover being articulated on one part of the device and the other end being slidingly mounted on another part of the device.
The cover can be articulated on the attachment means and slidably mounted on the tensioning lever or vice versa. It can also cover the attachment means.
This construction is applicable both to detachable devices, that is to say detachably hanging on a part of the shoe, as to non-detachable devices, that is to say devices in which a end of the tie is articulated on a part of the shoe.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, three embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a top plan view of a closure and tightening device permanently connecting two shoe parts.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view along II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a side view of a closure and tightening device connecting non-permanently two shoe parts.
Fig. 4 is a top view of the right end of the device shown in FIG. 3.
Fig. 5 shows the device of FIG. 3 in partially open position.
Fig. 6 is a partial view of a first variant of the first embodiment.
Fig. 7 is a perspective view of part of the cover of FIG. 6.
Fig. 8 is a partial view of a second alternative embodiment.
Figs. 1 and 2 show a closing and tightening device comprising a tensioning lever 1 articulated around an axis 2 between the two ears 3 and 4 of a base 5 fixed on a first shoe part 6, for example the side d '' a collar-shaped rod of a ski boot. The tensioning lever 1 has a U-shaped profile having at least two intermediate partitions parallel to the wings of the profile.
At an intermediate point of the tensioning lever is articulated around an axis 7, materialized by two ends of axis 8 and 9, a nut 10 in which is mounted radially and rotatably a cylindrical tube threaded therein containing a nut, not shown , constituting the head of a cable 12, forming a tie, the other end of which is fixed to a stud 13 articulated by means of an axis 14 on a support 15 fixed on another part 16 of the shoe, for example the other side of the aforementioned necklace.
This closing and tightening device is furthermore equipped with a slightly curved cover 17 having, over most of its length, a U-shaped shape with a slightly narrower end 17a articulated on the axis 14 and thus covering the plate 15 and the stud 13. The cover 17 is extended, at the tensioner lever 1, by two arms 18 and 19 extending the wings of the profile and extending parallel and along the wings of the profile of the lever- tensioner 1. The arms 18 and 19 are internally provided with two tenons 20 and 21 passing through each of the slots 22 formed longitudinally in each of the wings of the profile of the tensioner lever 1 according to a bayonet type mounting and able to move along these slots .
The ends of the tenons 20 and 21 have two short non-diametrically opposite radial arms 23 and 24 locking the tenons in the tensioning lever 1. When the tensioning lever is opened and closed, the tenons 20 and 21 move the along the tensioning lever 1 without interfering with its movement. The length of the lights 22 is determined as a function of the range of adjustment of the length of the tie rod consisting of the cable 12 and the tube 11.
Figs. 3 to 5 schematically represent a detachable variant of execution.
The device shown differs from the previous device only in its end connected to part 16 of the shoe. Instead of being permanently mounted in a support 15, the bar constituting the axis 14 removably hooks into the teeth 25 of a rack 26 whose teeth are divided into two parts by an axial slot 27 allowing the stud 13 and the cable 12 to engage in the rack. In the hooked position, the cover 17 covers at least partially the rack 26.
Fig. 6 shows, in plan view from above, a modification applicable to the two previous embodiments. In order to avoid repetition, the parts taken from fig. 1, with or without slight modification, are designated by the same references accompanied by the premium sign.
In this modification, the arms 18 and 19 of the cover 17 are replaced by an axial extension 30 also profiled in U like the cover 17 min, the width of this part 30 being such that it engages in the axial cutting 28 min of the tensioner lever 1 by covering the tube 11 min by being flush with the surface of the tensioner lever. The width of the cover 17 min can thus be exactly equal to the width of the tensioner lever 1 min and be located in the extension of the tensioner lever in the closed position. In its middle part, the extension 30 has, in its wings, clearances 31 for the nut 10 min (fig. 7). The extension 30 is provided with two lateral tenons 32 and 33 engaged in slots formed in the ribs of the U-shaped profile 34 and 35 of the tensioning lever 1 min, slots similar to the slots 22 in FIG. 2.
The tensioning lever 1 min and the cover 17 min are thus fitted into one another and have an almost continuous surface. In reality, the cover 17 min and its extension are slightly curved like the cover 17 shown in FIG. 2.
Fig. 8 shows another alternative embodiment in which the cover 17 min min is articulated on a rack 40 intended to be hooked on a hook and to which the cable 12 min is fixed. In this case, the cover 17 min min does not cover the attachment means, but the aesthetic result is also achieved.
Generally, the cover could be articulated on the tensioning lever and mounted to slide on the attachment means.
