Die Fig. 1 bis 5 die Einrichtung von der Stirnseite gesehen, und zwar während verschiedener Arbeitsschritte;
The invention relates to a device for forming profile flanges on the edges of metal sheets according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.
In air duct construction, work is predominantly carried out with attached, separately manufactured profile flanges. Due to the variety of sheet metal parts, the complexity of the flange profile and the overlay with folds and rims, the flange profiles have not been molded directly onto the duct wall. However, it became known a device of the type with which a flange profile can be formed directly on the channel wall. This previously known device has a horizontally displaceable molding tool which can be set against a horizontal molding channel, the lower boundary wall of this horizontal molding channel being pivotable about a horizontal axis. This swivel-mounted molded part also has a support channel into which an operator places the sheet of metal to be machined in a vertical position.
If the sheet of metal is inserted into the device by the operator in this way, the horizontally displaceable mold moves against the edge of the sheet of metal, a U-shaped channel being formed on the edge by folding the upright part of the sheet of metal into a horizontal position. The molding tool then moves back to its starting position, whereupon the pivoting molding tool deforms the free cheek of the U-shaped channel to form a flange. The adjacent sections of the flange formed in this way are then connected to one another in a separate operation, either by fasteners such as screws or rivets or by spot welding.
This previously known device is not expedient, since the sheet metal plate must first be kept upright by the operator after insertion into the device, and it requires a high level of attention on the part of the operator to release this upright sheet metal sheet in good time when the molding tools come into action , whereby the upright part of the sheet is pivoted by 90 ° in a horizontal plane.
The present invention is based on this state of the art and aims to constructively construct a device of the kind in such a way that its handling is simplified, which is achieved according to the invention by means of the measures, the content and subject matter of the characterizing part of patent claim 1 are. Appropriate embodiments of the invention are set out in the dependent claims.
In order to make the device and its mode of operation clear, an exemplary embodiment is discussed in more detail with reference to the drawing, without thereby restricting the invention thereto. Show it:
Figures 1 to 5 seen the device from the front, during different steps;
Fig. 6 is an end view of a metal sheet with a molded profile flange.
1 to 5 show the device according to the invention seen from the front side, only the structural components serving to shape the profile flanges being shown here, the main direction of extension of which extends at right angles to the plane of the drawing. The device has a support table 1 arranged within a machine frame, not shown here, with a horizontal support plane 2, on which the metal sheet 3 to be processed can be placed. To the side of the support table 1 and parallel to its one edge 4, a strip-shaped stop 5 is provided, which is mounted so as to be horizontally displaceable in the support plane 2 of the support table 1 (arrow 6).
The device also has a strip-shaped abutment 7, which has a contact surface 8 for contact with the metal sheet 3 and a shaping mold surface 9, which has two sections 22 and 23, which interact with molds 10 and 11. The contact surface 8 and the shaped surface 9 of the abutment 7 form an edge 14 which, when the abutment is in place (FIGS. 2, 3 and 4), lies directly in front of the edge 4 of the support table 1.
The molds 10, 11, 12 and 13 are - seen in a side view - arranged radially around the abutment 7 moved into the working position. In relation to an imaginary level provided in the abutment area of the abutment and perpendicular to the support level 2 of the support table 1, these radiation-shaped shaping tools 10, 11, 12 and 13 lie on one side of this imaginary level. The molding tool 10 is pivotally mounted about an axis which is close to the edge 4 of the support table 1 adjacent to the stop 5 and parallel to this edge 4. In its inactive position, this mold 10 lies below the support plane 2 of the support table 1. The pivot axis of the mold 10 mentioned coincides with the edge 14 of the abutment 7. The molding tool 11 can be adjusted at an angle of approximately 45 ° to the support plane 2.
Another mold 12 is slidably mounted in a plane approximately perpendicular to the support plane 2 of the support table 1. A further shaping tool 13 is provided vertically adjustable below the support plane of the support table 1. This molding tool 13 has a plurality of vertically standing stamps 15 arranged in a row. Corresponding to the number and arrangement of these stamps, 15 bores 16 are cut out in the support table 1. These stamps 15 are dimensioned so long that they protrude somewhat from the support plane 2 of the support table 1 when the mold 13 (FIG. 5) is engaged and thereby protrude into embossed holes 17 which are provided on the shaping surface 18 of the vertically adjustable upper mold 12.
The two molding tools 12 and 13 mentioned here, one of which is arranged above and the other below the support table 1, can be moved in vertical planes.
The strip-shaped abutment 7 is slidably mounted in a plane which is inclined to the support plane 2 of the support table 1 (arrow 19). A spring-loaded hold-down device 20 can be adjusted against the support table 1. In the drawings, the directions of movement and directions of movement of the individual structural components are indicated by arrows.
The tools and components described above are mounted in the side cheeks of a machine frame, which are parallel to the plane of the drawing and which are not shown for reasons of clarity. The structural components and molds are adjusted by means of hydraulically actuated piston-cylinder units, the workflow - as will be explained in the following - expediently being program-controlled.
A metal sheet 3, on which a profile flange (FIG. 6) is to be formed on the edge, is placed on the support table 1 from the left (FIG. 1) and pushed up to the stop 5. In a first work cycle, the hold-down device 20 and the abutment 7 are now set against the support table 1 or the metal sheet 3 lying on it, the stop 5 moves to the right in good time. This position of the structural components is shown in FIG. 2. In the following work cycle, the molding tool 10 now swivels up and presses the edge of the metal sheet 3 located in front of the edge 14 of the abutment 7 against the first section 22 of the shaping surface 9 of the abutment 7 (FIG. 3). . Then, with the mold 10 pivoted up, the mold 11 is advanced and the edge of the metal sheet 3 is pressed further against the shaping surface 9, namely against its second section 23 (FIG. 4).
The aforementioned edge of the sheet 3 is now preformed in two steps. Now, in the next work cycle, both the molding tool 11 and the abutment 7 return to their starting position shown in FIG. 1. The vertically displaceable molding tool 12 is then turned on, the molding tool 10 initially maintaining its position shown in FIG. 5, the preformed edge of the metal sheet 3 being pressed into its end position (FIG. 5) by means of the molding tool 12. Then the molding tool 13 located under the support table 1 is raised and riveted with its punches 15 in connection with the embossed bores 17 of the molding tool 12 which is still run down to the profile flange which has now been produced. Once this work cycle has been completed, the molding tools 10, 12 and 13 return to their starting position.
The hold-down device 20 is then raised and the metal sheet 3 with the finished shaped profile flange 21 is removed from the device. The punches 15 and the stamping bores 17 cooperating with them deform the sheets lying against one another in a punctiform manner and in the manner of push buttons.
The advantages of the device according to the invention compared to the known device are obvious: the profile flange 21 is formed and solidified on the sheet metal 3, without the sheet 3 changing its position after being inserted and without the sheet metal being held by an operator during the deformation processes got to. In addition, the bent part of the profile flange is firmly connected to the metal sheet 3 when the metal sheet is removed from the device. The operator therefore only has to insert the metal sheet 3 into the device and push it as far as it will go, whereupon the work processes subsequently triggered run automatically without the operator's involvement or intervention. The metal sheet lies on the support table 1 over the entire surface.
