The present invention relates to a pulsator for the arrangement in the air duct of a hair dryer according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Pulsators for hair dryers serve to swirl the even air flow generated by the blower of the hair dryer and convert it into a pulsating air flow drying the hair faster.
Such a pulsator for the air outlet duct of a hair dryer is known for example from DE-OS 3 225 944. It has a rotor which is mounted coaxially to the air outlet of the hair dryer and has one or more inclined vanes which can be detected by the air flow of the hair dryer fan and which is rotated by the air flow in such a way that a swirling of the exiting air flow is caused, which causes a pulsating flow to the air flow hair to be dried and thus faster drying. This known pulsator has the disadvantage, among other things, that it offers no possibility of varying the pulse frequency of the emerging air flow. In addition, due to the high speed of its rotor, it leads to a very high pulse frequency of the escaping air flow.
The use of hairdressing additives such as an undulating nozzle after the pulsator to neutralize the pulsation, which limits the possible uses of this pulsator at the hairdresser.
The present invention has for its object to provide a pulsator which does not have these and other disadvantages of known pulsators and which is suitable for arrangement at any position in the air duct of a hair dryer and which also uses a pulsating air flow when using hairdressing additives at the air outlet of the hair dryer generated and which also allows the adjustment of the pulse frequency of the air flow within certain limits. According to the invention, this object is achieved by means of a pulsator as defined in claim 1.
An advantageous embodiment of a pulsator according to the invention is described below with reference to the drawing. In the drawing shows
1 shows a horizontal longitudinal section through an embodiment variant of a pulsator according to the invention accommodated in a styling nozzle attachment, in FIG
Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section through the pulsator of FIG. 1, in
3 is a view of the most important components of the pulsator according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in the direction of arrow B in FIG. 2 in a first setting variant, and in
FIG. 4 shows a view according to FIG. 3 in another setting variant of the pulsator.
It can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2 that the embodiment variant of a pulsator according to the invention described here is accommodated in a styling nozzle housing 1, either fixed or detachably connected to a hair dryer, not shown. It essentially consists of two components, namely a lamellar ring 2 and a rotor 4. In the lamellar ring 2, inclined lamellae 3 are arranged which serve to deflect the air flowing through the hair dryer essentially parallel to the air duct axis A-A. The rotor 4 consists essentially of a wing rotatable about an axis of rotation B-B with flow flaps 5 that can be opened on one side, the function of which is described below.
Advantageously, the rotor 4 has inflow rings 6, which extend approximately over half the rotor circumference, on its periphery, which facilitate the rotation-controlled rotation of the rotor 4.
The flow-through flaps 5 are advantageously pivotally supported on one side by means of axes 7 and a spring steel pin 7a in corresponding recesses in the rotor 4, such that they are kept closed by the spring steel pin 7a in the idle state, but on the other hand they can be pressed open by the air flowing in one direction . Air flowing towards them in the other direction supports the action of the spring steel pin 7a.
As a result, in the two symmetrical to the air duct axis A-A, respectively. rotor halves lying at right angles to the axis of rotation BB of the rotor 4 have different inflow surfaces for the air blown past the pulsator by the blower of the hair dryer, which leads to a torque difference between the rotor halves mentioned, which is generated by the air impinging thereon, resulting in the rotor 4 in Rotated in the direction of arrow A. Thanks to the deflection of the air flow caused by the lamellae 3 out of the air duct axis A-A and the shape of the inflow rings 6, this happens even when the rotor 4 is exactly in the air duct axis A-A when the fan of the hair dryer is switched on.
A person skilled in the art will recognize that the rotor 4, which looks similar to a circular disc, practically closes the air duct formed by the styling nozzle housing 1, which at least in the region of the pulsator advantageously also has a circular cross section, when it is transverse to its axis A-A. By rotating the rotor 4 about its axis of rotation B-B, the cross section of the air duct is accordingly opened and closed alternately. This means that the air flow generated by the hair dryer fan then flows in a pulsed manner to the pulsator. Even a narrowing of the air duct downstream does not change this.
3 illustrates the flow situation in the pulsator according to the invention according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and shows the essential pulsator components in the view, as can be seen from the direction of arrow B in FIG. 2, in the event that the lamellae 3 of the lamella ring 2 are parallel stand to the axis of rotation BB of the rotor 4. In this rotational position of the lamellar ring 2, which is rotatably mounted in the styling nozzle housing 1, the air deflected by the lamellas 3 thus standing, which is symbolized by the arrow C, flows optimally onto the rotor 4 in such a way that on its axially symmetrical halves they have a relatively high torque on one side and thus generates a relatively high torque difference between them, which causes the rotor 4 to rotate rapidly.
4 is rotated relative to the axis of rotation BB, however, the air (C) deflected by the blades 3 now standing at an angle of up to approximately 90 ° to the axis of rotation BB flows towards the rotor 4 in such a way that its two axially symmetrical Halves on one side only a relatively small torque, respectively. a small torque difference is generated between them. The rotor 4 therefore rotates only relatively slowly. The pulse frequency of the air current (C) generated by the hair dryer fan and sucked or blown by the pulsator according to the invention can thus be continuously adjusted between a minimum and a maximum value by simply rotating the lamellar ring 2.
The person skilled in the art recognizes that the pulsator according to the invention does not necessarily have to be installed in a styling nozzle designed as an attachment for the air outlet area of the hair dryer, as described above and shown in the drawing. It can be placed practically anywhere within the air duct of the hair dryer, without this significantly affecting its function.
In order to deactivate the pulsator according to the invention if necessary, it is readily possible to provide a lock, not shown in the drawing, in the hairdryer or hairdressing nozzle housing 1, by means of which the rotor 4 is blocked parallel to the air duct axis A-A. In this case, the air flow generated by the blower can be blown through the hair dryer unimpeded and evenly flowing.
It goes without saying that the construction of a pulsator according to the invention described above and resulting from the drawing can be changed without inventive intervention, for example in order to adapt it to the structural conditions of special hair dryer types. Also with other warm air devices, e.g. Hand dryers, wall hair dryers, air showers, therapeutic devices, etc., the use of the pulsator according to the invention can be advantageous, in which case its construction must be adapted to the technical circumstances in accordance with the above information.
