The invention relates to a piecing device according to the preamble of the first claim.
A yarn must be spun on when the machine starts up or when the yarn breaks. For this purpose you have to insert the end of the yarn into the spinning unit in such a way that it connects to the fiber ribbon and then pulls off the yarn.
Devices of this type, which carry out this activity, including the modification of the yarn end with the aid of a friction member, fully automatically, are already known. Such a device is e.g. described in DE-PS 2 350 843. In this embodiment, the yarn end is modified in a remote zone of the spinning unit. The loosened yarn, which is held by a clamp on the arm, is finally transferred by the movement of the respective arm from the loosening point over the tube of the spinning unit, where the clamp is then loosened and the yarn is sucked in. This solution is demanding both in terms of the actual construction and from the point of view of the space requirement, and further loosening can occur during the transfer of the modified yarn end, which can adversely affect the quality of the piecing.
The solution is also complicated in view of the need to position the yarn precisely in relation to the tube of the spinning unit, the vacuum in the tube having to be sufficiently large.
The object of the invention is to provide a piecing device which does not have these disadvantages.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features in the characterizing part of the first claim.
This ensures that the yarn is interrupted at such a point that the end of the yarn is immediately sucked through the tube into the spinning unit without additional aids, so that any loosening of the yarn when it is transferred from the point of interruption to the mouth of the tube is excluded and conditions to be created in optimal quality.
The precise positioning achieved by the device according to the invention is particularly advantageous in those spinning units in which the negative pressure is generated only by the rotor, so that the suction effect is determined only by the fan action of the rotor and cannot facilitate the introduction of yarn into the tube of the spinning unit increase. The use of a multi-edge milling tool is advantageous because of the simple maintenance of the edges due to their regular regrinding.
The following drawings show:

2 is an overall view of the automatic control device with the piecing device in the lower position,
Fig. 3 shows a yarn interruption module in the work position, at the beginning of the cycle, and
Fig. 4 shows a yarn interruption module at the end of the cycle, where the yarn has already been sucked into the spinning unit.
The illustrated embodiment of an open-end spinning machine contains spinning units 1, a lower distribution rod 2, take-off rollers 3, pressure rollers 4 and a winding roller 5, a profile piece 6 and arms 7, in each of which a bobbin 8 with the yarn 9 to be wound is stored. The operating machine 10 actuates the suction tube 11 by means of an arm (not shown) for the withdrawal of a sufficiently long section of the yarn 9 from the bobbin 8 to be wound up after a yarn break. The pivotable clamp 12 forms part of the automatic control device. The piecing device 15 is mounted on the levers 13 and 14. The lever 13 actuates the upper yarn guide 17 through the cam 16 fastened to it.
The piecing device 15 carries a fixed yarn guide 18, a pivotable yarn guide 19 and a module 20 (FIG. 2) which can be pivoted about the axis 21 and which is provided with a fork 22, a clamp 23 and an auxiliary arm 24 which is pivotable about the axis 25 is stored. The electric motor 26 mounted on the auxiliary arm 24 drives the milling cutter 27 via a gear. The position of the auxiliary arm 24 is determined by the guide roller 28 which contacts the spinning unit 1 in the vicinity of the mouth of the tube 29 leading to a rotor, not shown.
By pivoting the suction tube 11 (FIG. 1), the yarn 9 unwound from the bobbin 8 is transferred via the profile piece 6 and through the upper yarn guide 17 actuated by the cam 13 via the spinning unit 1.
After the piecing device 15 has been moved into the lower position (FIG. 2), the yarn 9 is guided through the stationary yarn guide 18 and through the fork 22 and is pivoted out of contact with the pressure roller 4 by the pivotable yarn guide 19.
After the module 20 has been positioned by a rotary movement over the spinning unit 1 (FIG. 3), the roller 28 rolls on the surface of the spinning unit 1. As a result, a precise distance between the point at which the yarn is interrupted later and the mouth of the tube 29 is achieved.
The yarn clamped by the clamp 23 is tensioned after the tension clamp 12 has been clamped and unlocked, the electric motor 26 is switched on and the yarn 9 is interrupted (separated) by the rotating milling cutter 27. The free yarn end is then sucked through the tube 29 into the rotor of the spinning unit (not shown) (FIG. 4).
The body of the tension clamp 12 moves in the direction of the yarn 9 which is being sucked off, the electric motor 26 is switched off, the tension clamp 12 is opened and the excess yarn is sucked off through the suction tube or the suction nozzle 11. When the piecing device 15 moves back, the clamp 23 is loosened at the mouth of the tube 29 and the further insertion of the loosened end of the yarn 9 into the tube 29 is thereby effected. The yarn loop is released by the pivotable yarn guide 19 for spinning, the yarn is gripped by the pressure roller 4 and then drawn off via the distribution rod 2, take-off roller 3 and the profile piece 6 onto the bobbin 8 pivoted into contact with the take-up roller 5.
