BESCHREIBUNG
Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen.
Fig. 2 eine perspektivische Darstellung eines V-förmigen Federteils.
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a cable entry for cables with one or more layers of shielding surrounding the conductor wires, according to the preamble of claim 1.
Cable entries of the type mentioned are known.
They are used to insert cables into a device housing and to establish a galvanic, electrically conductive contact between the cable shield and the device housing.
Furthermore, such cable entries usually also have an elastic seal to prevent moisture from entering the cable entry or the device housing.
A known cable entry consists of a conically narrowing cone that can be pushed under the shield on the insertion part and a counter cone on a sleeve that can be screwed or screwed onto or into the insertion part.
In this known cable entry, the cable shield must be provided with axially extending slots so that the cone on the insertion part of the cable entry can be pushed under the shield.
Improperly prepared cable shielding or improper insertion of the cone will damage the shielding. This can mean that a cable that has already been laid and cut to length must be replaced.
Another known cable entry consists of an insertion part and a screw-in or screw-on sleeve between which there are two metallic washers between which the axially slotted cable shield is clamped by 900 by radial bending.
Bending the cable shield by 90 "and possible rotation of the washers when screwing together the insertion and socket parts of the cable entry can break the cable shield.
Another known cable entry consists of an insertion part with an inner cone and a screw-in or screw-on sleeve between which, radially arranged, there is a spiral spring. By screwing the insertion part together with the sleeve of the cable entry, the spiral spring is pressed radially through the narrowing cone onto the cable shield.
The resulting radial pressure between the cone and the cable shield is so great that the individual coils of the spiral spring are turned over to the side and the cable shield is thereby damaged.
The invention seeks to remedy this.
The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of creating a cable entry in which a perfect galvanic connection is established between the cable shield and the cable entry or device housing and damage to the cable shield is avoided.
The advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that, apart from exposing the shield, no further preparations have to be made on the cable and on the cable shield before it can be introduced into a cable entry, as is the basis of this invention.
Another advantage is the relatively low internal spring force and the shape of the spring inserted into the cable entry, which is not changed by screwing the insertion and sleeve parts together and therefore cannot damage the cable shield.
The invention is explained in more detail on the basis of illustrated exemplary embodiments.
Show it:
1 shows a cross section through a cable entry with a shielded cable inserted therein (partially cut open),
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a V-shaped spring part.
In FIG. 1, the reference number 1 denotes a cable entry, also called a stuffing box, which consists of an insertion housing 3 and a sleeve 5 which can be screwed onto or into the housing 3. In the housing 3, a cylindrical insertion opening 7 is provided, the diameter D1 of which is larger than the diameter D2 of the conductor wires 9 of a shielded cable 11. Around the conductor wires 9, a cable shield 13 is placed, which consists of a helically wound electrically conductive film or one with axial extending overlap applied electrically conductive film or a network-like electrically conductive braid.
An electrically insulating protective jacket 15 is applied around the shield 13 and protects the conductor wires 9 and the shield 13 from moisture and mechanical influences.
In the insertion opening 7, a radial annular groove 17 is provided on the input side, which is either completely inside the insertion opening 7, as shown in FIG. 1, or which is open on the input side (not shown).
The diameter of the insertion opening 7 between the input-side end 19 and the annular groove 17 is preferably somewhat larger than between these and the output-side end. The input-side end of the housing 3 is provided with an external thread 21 or an internal thread (not shown), onto or into which the sleeve 5 is screwed.
An elastic sealing ring 23, for example a so-called onion ring or a cut-in ring, is used in the interior of the sleeve 5 and comes into contact with the end 19 of the housing 3 when the sleeve 5 is screwed on. As a result of the pinch when the sleeve 5 is tightened, the seal 23, when using an incision ring, comes into intimate contact with the jacket 15 of the cable 11. In the onion ring, the intimate contact with the cable jacket 15 takes place in a form-fitting manner by the elastic onion ring having a smaller inside diameter than the outside diameter of the cable of the jacket 15.
An electrically conductive spring part 25 is inserted into the groove 17 and in galvanically conductive contact with the base 27 of the groove 17. The connection between the spring part 25 and the base 27 can be positive, frictional, by spring force, adhesive or thermal connection techniques.
In the case of a cable 11 inserted through the cable entry 7, the exposed section of the shield 13 comes into contact with the spring part 25. In order for an effective electrical connection to be established between the two parts, the spring part 25 projects in a relaxed state, that is to say when no cable is in the cable entry is inserted into the insertion opening 7. In other words, the inside diameter of the relaxed spring part 25 is less than the diameter of the shield 13. The ratio between the inside diameter of the relaxed spring part 25 and the outside diameter of the cable shield 13 determines the spring force that acts on the shield 13. Depending on the design of this ratio, higher or lower spring forces can be achieved, suitable for various shielding materials.
The spring part 25 can consist of a single V-shaped or other-round wire or flat wire; however, it can also be produced from a V-shaped or other-shaped sheet metal, to which slots 29 are provided at regular or irregular intervals such that the spring part 25 can be bent into a ring so that it can be inserted into the annular groove 17. The non-slotted leg 31 comes to lie on the outside, the slotted leg 33, which consists of individual lamellae or segments, comes to lie on the inside. Depending on the application, the leg 31 may also be slotted or the leg 33 may not be slotted. All electrically conductive materials can be used as the spring part 25, in particular electrically conductive plastics or types of rubber.
The mode of operation of cable entry 1 is explained below:
At the end of the cable 11, the conductor wires 9 are exposed by removing the protective and shielding jacket 15 and 13. In a short section, the shield 13 is also exposed by removing the protective jacket 15. The cable end thus prepared is pushed through the sleeve 5 and inserted into the insertion opening 7 or in the spring part 25. When the cable 11 is inserted, the spring part 25 is pushed radially outward from the shield 13, as a result of which intimate electrically conductive contact between the shield 13 and the spring part 25 takes place. Between the cable shield 13 and the device housing 41 there is a galvanic, electrically conductive contact via the spring part 25 and the housing 3.
To produce a certain seal, the sleeve 5 is screwed or screwed onto the housing 3 until the seal 23 abuts both on the housing 3 and on the sleeve 5 on both sides.
The seal between the cable jacket 15 and the seal 23 takes place in a form-fitting manner in that the inner diameter of the sealing ring is smaller than the outer diameter of the cable jacket 15 or non-positively in that the sealing ring 23 has an incision on the outside, as a result of which it is 5 V-shaped by screwing the housing 3 to the sleeve deformed and the inner diameter of the sealing ring 23 thereby becomes smaller than the outer diameter of the cable jacket 15.
The bracket 39 is used for strain relief, that is, protection against the pulling out of the cable and the centering of the cable in the cable entry 1.
