BESCHREIBUNG
Fig. 1 stellt ein stark schematisiertes Anlagenschema einer Kläranlage für die Durchführung des neuen Verfahrens dar, wobei zwischen den Teilen der Anlage nur die Strömungswege für die Luft eingetragen sind;
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a method for removing odors and / or foreign substances from the atmosphere of at least partially covered sewage treatment plants, in which at least one aerobic biological degradation stage with at least one aeration tank and a secondary clarification tank and a system for removing odors and / or foreign substances are present .
Sewage treatment plants for municipal and industrial wastewater often cause immissions, which lead to unpleasant smells, especially in settlement areas. To remedy this, existing sewage treatment plants are covered, new sewage treatment plants are already being roofed, the air laden with odor and / or foreign substances is extracted from these buildings and sent to a plant for removing odor and / or foreign substances.
Depending on their nature, there are numerous options for removing odors and / or foreign substances, such as biodegradation, leaching, adsorption and combustion. The amount of odor and / or foreign substances, but also the amount of air that is contaminated with these substances, are decisive factors for the size of the plants for the removal of these substances.
The object of the present invention is to reduce as much as possible both the amount of odorous and / or foreign substances and that of air contaminated with odorous and / or foreign substances in front of such a system, and thus both the required investment and operating costs a plant for the elimination of odors and foreign substances.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the air contaminated with odors and / or foreign substances is collected from plant parts contaminated thereby and is passed through the aeration basin, and in addition that exhaust air from the closed space above the aeration basin of the plant for removing odor and / or foreign substances are supplied.
With the new process, a large part of the organic odor and / or foreign substances is first broken down in the aeration tank. In addition - by collecting the air contaminated with odors and / or foreign substances from the various parts of the system and using them in the aeration tank for aerobic biodegradation of certain organic, biodegradable foreign substances contained in the air and in the water, the plant to eliminate the smell and! or the total amount of air to be supplied with foreign substances is considerably reduced, which is why such a system, which only has to remove the non-biodegradable odors and / or foreign substances from the air, can be kept relatively small and can be operated with relatively little effort.
The new method can advantageously be carried out in such a way that the air throughput at the outlet of the biological degradation stage is kept at a constant minimum value. The system for odor and / or foreign substance removal, which expediently consists of an incineration plant, then only has to be designed for this minimum air volume, which serves, for example, as combustion air. If your oxygen content is no longer sufficient for proper combustion, then it is possible to supply fresh air and / or an oxygen-enriched gas and / or pure oxygen to this minimum air volume in front of the combustion system.
The collected air laden with odors and / or foreign substances can be fed into an aeration basin either directly by blowing in with a blower - and optionally a deep aerator - preferably near the bottom of the aeration basin; However, it is also possible to first introduce the collected air into the closed air space above the aeration basin and to ventilate the basin from this air space. In both methods, the air contaminated with odors or foreign substances can be circulated through the aeration tank one or more times.
Of course, it is also possible to use both of the above-mentioned feed options next to each other for a subset of the air to be treated in the basin.
Is a sewage treatment plant with two or more biological
Degradation stages equipped in series, it is advantageous to carry out the deodorization in such a way that the air from the atmosphere is led through a subsequent aeration basin through the subsequent aeration basin.
If the air to be treated no longer contains sufficient oxygen for proper aerobic degradation of the pollutants, it is advisable to add fresh air or a gas which is at least enriched with oxygen to a metered amount before and / or during feeding into an aeration tank.
Very often, the exposure to odor and / or foreign substances from the secondary settling tanks of the aerobic degradation stages is negligible; However, if treatment is also necessary for this air, the air can be introduced from a closed air space above a secondary clarifier into an aeration tank or directly into the system for removing the odors and / or foreign substances.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment in conjunction with the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a highly schematic plant diagram of a sewage treatment plant for the implementation of the new process, wherein only the flow paths for the air are entered between the parts of the plant;
FIG. 2 shows, likewise schematically, a possible structure of the activation stages of the plant according to FIG. 1, the gas-carrying lines being shown as simple lines and water-carrying connections as double lines.
The diagram in FIG. 1 shows only parts of a sewage treatment plant from which odors and / or foreign substances can escape into the atmosphere. These parts of the plant can differ from plant to plant in terms of their number and intended use; the system described below is therefore only an arbitrarily chosen embodiment.
The sewage treatment plant outlined in FIG. 1, the parts of which are largely covered by hood-like covers 16 (FIG. 2) in order to reduce pollution of the environment by odors and / or foreign substances, contains two aerobic degradation stages A and B operated in series each with an aeration basin 5 or 7 and a secondary clarification basin 6 or 8. According to the invention, the odor and / or foreign substance-laden air from the system parts 1 to 4, which, for example, an inlet structure 1, oil and sand separator 2, a buffer basin 3 and a sludge thickener 4 are collected in a collecting line 13 and fed to the first ventilation tank 5.
As mentioned, the collected air can be blown directly into the aeration basin 5 with the aid of a blower 14 and / or a deep aerator 15 (FIG. 2) or first into the closed air space 17 above this basin via a branch line 1 3a (FIG. 2) 5 are performed; From the air space 17, which is common to the aeration basin 5 and the secondary clarification basin 6 under stage A under a single cover 16, a further blower 18 conveys odor and / or contaminant-laden air through the basin 5 via a second depth aerator 19. Of course, it is also possible to use both types of gas entry into the aeration basin 5 simultaneously and side by side. With one or more throughputs through the aeration tank 5, biodegradable odor and / or foreign substances are at least partially eliminated from the air.
Another line 22 connects the air space 17 with another closed air space 20 above the activation tank 7 of the second degradation stage B; since the development of odors and / or foreign substances in secondary clarification tanks is often negligibly small, the secondary clarification tank 8 is not included in closed air space 20 in stage B. For the air entry into the basin 7, a blower 21 is provided, which sucks in air from the line 20 and conveys it into a distribution network 27 equipped with outlet openings near the bottom of the basin 7. The air sucked in by the blower 21 is drawn off via a line 23 partially from the air space 20 - which is indicated in FIG. 2 by flow arrows in the lines 22 and 23 - so that the air from the space 20 passes through the basin 7 several times before it flows to the blower 9 via a flow connection 24.
The fan 9, through which the total air flow through the system is maintained, conveys the air in the tank 7, which is at least almost completely free of biodegradable odors and / or foreign substances, into a system 10 for removing odors and / or foreign substances, which are present Example is adopted as an incinerator. In this, the non-biodegradable odors and / or foreign substances are burned before the clean air from the system 10 escapes into the atmosphere via a line 11.
When carrying out the new method, there is the possibility that the air laden with odors and / or foreign substances becomes too poor in oxygen during the treatment, so that the oxygen input into basins 5 and 7 is insufficient and / or that contained in this air Oxygen is no longer sufficient for proper combustion. In front of the basins 5 and 7 and in front of the incinerator 10, feed points 12 for fresh air, an oxygen-enriched gas or for pure oxygen can therefore be provided, the metering of these additional gases for the incinerator 10 being controlled by the latter, while in the other two Feeding points the dosage depending on the oxygen concentrations, for example in the air spaces 17 and 20 or in the aeration tanks 5 and 7. In these air spaces 17 and 20 or
sensors 25 for measuring the oxygen concentration are therefore provided in the aeration tanks 5 and 7, which influence the metering elements 26 - shown as adjustable valves in FIG. 1.
In order to distribute the collected air supplied to the aeration basin 5, which is contaminated with odors and / or foreign substances, over the two possibilities of introduction described and also for influencing the throughput of the air through line 22, regulating elements 28 (lines 13 and 13a) can be shut off. 2) are provided, which can also be influenced, for example, by the sensor 25 in the air space 17 or in the basin 5 or by an air quantity sensor in the line 22, not shown.
Another lockable control element 29 is arranged in the return line 23. With it - by varying the amount of circulation from the air space 20 - the amount of air removed from the biological degradation stages A and B and directed via the line 24 into the system 10 for removing the odorous substances is regulated. The control element 29 can therefore expediently e.g. can be adjusted by an air volume sensor, not shown, in line 24.
