Description
BESCHREIBUNG DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a method and a device for measuring the angular offset of an object with the aid of object-related target marks formed as optically structured raster discs, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
For the measurement of angular displacements, such as are carried out, for example, in geodetic instruments such as theodolites, leveling and the like, purely optical methods have hitherto been used essentially. With the use of electronic means for distance measurement with such devices, there is an increasing discrepancy in the accuracy of the measurement results, which are available on the one hand via the electronic means and, on the other hand, are incurred by means of purely optical means for the angle measurement.
From CH-PS 638 057 a device for determining the direction of a target by determining the position of an objectified image of the target on a transmitted light grid is known. The target is optically structured as a reflected light grid with a rotationally symmetrical, essentially radially directed, alternating light and dark division. The receiving device essentially comprises an objective directed at the target mark, a transmitted light raster disk and radiation detectors arranged behind the disk as well as an evaluation circuit. The transmitted light grid has the same optical structure as the reflected light grid. It can be rotated around its center of symmetry and driven by a motor. The center of the transmitted light grid and the center of the radiation detectors are aligned with the optical axis of the lens. To determine the angular offset of the target relative to the optical axis of the objective, the signals emitted by the radiation detectors are modulated by rotating the transmitted-light grid. This modulation is evaluated by the evaluation circuit, which calculates the storage and makes the corresponding values available. These values are saved, displayed or output in any other way.
A disadvantage of this device is the great outlay in mechanical and electronic devices, including the drive of the transmitted-light grid with avoidance of vibrations and the regulation of the rotational speed within a range permissible for the calculation. A further disadvantage is that the grid disk can only be exchanged with great difficulty, so that it is not possible in practical use to process a plurality of target marks lying in the field of vision of the device without manual access to the device. This also means that the device cannot be used to identify several differently marked targets.
The object of the present invention is to provide a method and a device of the type mentioned in the introduction

Ausserdem soll es möglich sein, auch an schwer zugänglichen Objekten Messungen hoher Präzision vornehmen zu können und eine Identifikation mehrerer unterschiedlich markierter Ziele vornehmen zu können. to improve that the measurement of the angular offset can be carried out with greater accuracy, if possible with the exclusion of reading errors, the integration of the method or the device in electronic distance measuring devices being desirable. In addition, it should be possible to carry out high-precision measurements even on objects that are difficult to access and to be able to identify several differently marked targets.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features defined in claims 1 and 4.
A major advantage of the invention is that it does not have any mechanically moving parts, e.g. works without rotating parts and uses a particularly simple and inexpensive radiation detector with a diode array. Since computers are already present in such a device, the additional computer requirement does not cause any significant additional outlay for the present device. If a scale-invariant design is selected as the target, target marks that are at an angle to the optical axis can also be detected on target objects that are poorly or no longer accessible. Furthermore, several reference marks can be stored in the device, which makes it possible to process a plurality of target marks lying in the field of view of the device without manual intervention in the device for exchanging reference marks being necessary. This results in the possibility of particularly simple and reliable target identification in the case of multiple measurements.
Es zeigen: The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of exemplary embodiments with the aid of the drawing. Show it:

The device according to FIG. 1 contains a target mark 1, which is connected to the object to be measured and which lies in the optical axis 2 of a receiving device, designated overall by 3. The receiving device 3 comprises an objective 4 aligned with the optical axis 2, a position-sensitive radiation detector 5 and a computer 6 to which a memory 15 can be connected.
According to the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the target 1 is designed as an incident light grid and is optically structured by division into light and dark areas 7, 8. However, the target mark can also be designed as a transmitted light raster disc without the essential features of the method or the device having to be changed. A predetermined position of the target 1, which is surrounded by the light and dark areas 7, 8, is defined as the center 9. The target mark 1 is cut by the optical axis 2 of the receiving device 3 in the targeted point 14. About the appropriate choice of the grid, which e.g. can be designed as a radial grid or as a mosaic grid, will be discussed later. An image of the target mark to be processed is stored in the memory 15 as a reference mark for comparison purposes. The storage can take place via the optical image of the reference mark itself or via suitably prepared characteristic values of the reference mark. Images or

charakteristische Werte von mehreren Zielmarken entsprechenden Referenzmarken abgespeichert sein. characteristic values of several reference marks corresponding to reference marks can be stored.
The radiation detector 5 is of the so-called sector type, for example. It is divided into a plurality of radiation-sensitive detection areas 11, which make up the radiation-sensitive area. The detection areas 11 are arranged in a detection plane 10 regularly, for example in a circle or in a matrix.
In the preferred example, in the case of such a radiation detector 5, its radiation-sensitive detection regions 11 are designed as a matrix of diodes on a semiconductor base. Such an arrangement is also known as a diode array. Each of these radiation-sensitive diodes is led to the outside via electrode connections. A base electrode is common to all detection areas. In the preferred example, a specific point on the radiation-sensitive surface of the radiation detector 5 is defined as the center 12, which is surrounded by the detection areas 11.
When dimensioning the objective 4, the dimensions of the target 1 and the radiation detector 5 must be taken into account such that an image of the target 1 projected or objectified by the objective 4 onto the detection plane 10 sufficiently covers the radiation-sensitive surface of the radiation detector 5. If the center 9 of the target lies next to the optical axis 2, it is necessary that the image of the target 1 in the detection plane 10 detects the radiation-sensitive surface of the radiation detector 5 to a minimum percentage, e.g. 20 percent, covered, in order to achieve unambiguity in the target mark detection and thus to ensure sufficient precision in the position determination.
The detection areas 11 are connected via lines 13 to the computer 6, which calculates the placement of the objectified center 9 of the target mark 1 in the detection plane 10 from the center 12 of the radiation-sensitive area of the radiation detector 5 from the signals thus supplied. From this, the placement of the center 9 of the target 1 can be derived from the targeted point 14 at which the optical axis 2 intersects the target 1. The computer checks the correlation between the optical structure of the target 1 or its objectified image in the detection plane 10 of the radiation detector 5 and a pattern corresponding to the optical structure of the target and stored in the computer 6 or in its memory 15. The optical structure of the image of the target mark is supplied to the computer by the signals from the plurality of detection areas 11 of the radiation detector 5. At the output 16 of the computer 6, the signals for a display device or for storage or further processing are made available.
The correlation carried out by the computer 6 to determine the desired angular offset of the target mark or the object connected to it can take place in various ways. For example, the autocorrelation function of the stored pattern stored in the memory 15 is compared with the correlation function between the pattern and the target mark. The filing is then calculated from the comparison result. Such correlation calculations are known in principle and need not be explained further here. The calculation can be carried out by programming the computer 6 accordingly.
Dem Maximum der so erhaltenen Werte, also For example, according to a further embodiment, the computer can form the cross-correlation between the stored image of the reference pattern and the image of the target mark. dem empirisch ermittelten Maximum der Kreuzkorrelationsfunktion, ist dann die gesuchte Winkelablage zugeordnet. Auch diese Berechnung kann durch entsprechende Programmierung des Rechners 6 geschehen. the angular offset sought is then assigned to the empirically determined maximum of the cross-correlation function. This calculation can also be done by programming the computer 6 accordingly.
For the target mark 1 shown as an example in FIG. 2, the pattern is designed as a centrically symmetrical radial grid. The alternating light and dark areas 7 and 8 are arranged around the center 9 as radial sectors which are angularly offset from one another by defined central angles. The advantage of such a simple arrangement lies in its scale invariance in the correlation calculation in the computer 6. This means that the target mark can be imaged on the radiation detector 5 during the entire measurement process with a constant scale.
According to a second exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the target mark 1 is designed as a mosaic grid. In the example, the distribution of the light and dark mosaic elements 7 and 8 around the center 9 of the target 1 is stochastic or at least pseudo-stochastic. This results in particularly good security and accuracy in the course of the cross-correlation comparison. Deviating from the illustration shown, the mosaic elements can also be of different sizes. The target image image is evaluated in the computer in the same way as previously described in connection with the target mark according to FIG. 2. Such a target is particularly advantageous if the distance information is available because the selected pseudo-stochastic pattern is not scale-invariant.
According to another example shown in FIG. 4, the target mark 1 is designed as a radial screen with a stochastic or pseudo-dostochastic radial division. The alternating light and dark areas 7, 8 are arranged around the center 9 as radial sectors, the central angles of which have stochastically distributed, non-regular values. The radial raster according to FIG. 4, like that according to FIG. 2, is scale-invariant, so that no correction according to the distance between the target mark and the receiving device is necessary when evaluating the measurement.
4 has an additional, considerable advantage over the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. If the plane of the target mark 1 is oblique instead of perpendicular to the optical axis, the target mark 5 is arithmetically straightened 5 by a simple, known per se similarity transformation in the computer. Such a scale transformation in an axis running through the center of the image of the target makes it possible, in a simple but very effective way, for precise angle measurement even when the target is crooked and is attached to objects that are difficult or even inaccessible.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the device described above, a plurality of reference patterns A, B, C,... Which correspond to a plurality of 15 alternative target mark patterns are stored in the computer 6 or in a memory 15 associated therewith. By simply programmed switching in the computer 6 from one reference pattern to the other, a plurality of target marks lying in the field of view of the receiving device 3 can be processed, the device being able to correctly differentiate, ie identify, 20 different targets. The direction determination, which is oriented towards one of these target marks, is not disturbed by the other target marks, which are also in the field of view of the receiving device, during the comparison with the reference mark selected from the memory 15 25. The measurements obtained in the computer between the reference mark and the target mark make the measurements clear.
Non-scale invariant targets, e.g. Mosaic-like target plates similar to the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 3 allow a fine code superimposed on the basic pattern to be applied by suitable choice of the pattern distribution. This fine code can also be evaluated by the receiving device. In the example, it contains additional information about its relative geometric position within the target. The fine code can be applied as a bar code to the dark areas 8 according to FIG. 3, so that these areas are also screened. On the one hand, this improves the uniqueness for the recognition of the target mark for short distances 40, and on the other hand it makes it easier for larger distances to be recognized by different shades of gray, which is caused by the fine code.
