10. The method according to any one of claims 6 to 9, characterized in that a lacquer-like plastic preparation is used.
The invention relates to a connecting terminal according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for producing a connecting terminal according to the invention.
A terminal according to the preamble of the claim is known from DE-PS 506 360. Due to vibrations, however, the clamping screw can accidentally screw in or out.
The unscrewing, but not the screwing in is prevented according to DE-PS 2 354 568, but it requires a great deal of effort.
The invention has for its object to provide a terminal, the clamping screw is secured against unwanted screwing and against unwanted unscrewing, and which is economically advantageous to manufacture and use.
To solve this problem, a connection terminal of the type drawn in claim 1 and a method for the production thereof are proposed.
The attempt to secure a screw against unintentional turning with a plastic application in the thread turned out to be at least unsafe with a connecting terminal because the plastic contaminated the terminal body when the screw was screwed into the threaded hole so that the contact to the electrical conductors to be clamped was no longer secure was possible.
Surprisingly, however, it was found that this contamination does not occur according to the invention or only occurs to such a small extent that it is insignificant.
Although this is the case, the plastic is able to increase the torque required to turn the screw sufficiently that there is no fear of unintentional screwing in or unintentional unscrewing.
The threaded part located between the annular groove and the screw head can remain free of plastic, which is conducive to the screwing in of the screw when establishing a clamp connection.
The plastic is preferably permanently elastic, which is useful not only for its function preventing the unwanted rotation, but also for the intentional screwing in of the clamping screw, which also prevents the plastic from splintering and the resulting contamination.
A varnish such as is known for other purposes in the electrical industry, has proven to be advantageous because it is easy and inexpensive to use.
The connecting terminal according to the invention can preferably be constructed such that the clamping screw carries a clamping disc, between which and the terminal body the electrical lines are to be clamped. This in particular with a correspondingly clean and plastic-free clamping surface of the clamp body. However, the invention can also be advantageous for chandelier terminals and the like.
The manufacture of the connecting terminal according to the invention can be carried out in the simplest way.
It is only necessary to at least partially provide the end thread, but at most the end thread and the ring groove, with a flowable to pasty plastic preparation, and screw the end thread through the threaded bore of the clamp body before this preparation solidifies.
Surprisingly, the plastic preparation does not migrate onto the surface of the clamp body surrounding the clamping screw, but into the annular groove.
The solidifying plastic is not only not an obstacle to contact formation on the terminal body, but also provides protection against the unwanted turning of the clamping screw.
Preferably the end thread is incomplete, e.g.
two-thirds filled with the plastic preparation, which has proven beneficial to the purposes of the invention.
In addition, only the annular groove area adjacent to the end thread should advantageously be provided with plastic preparation.
These measures can preferably be implemented well when the clamping screw is immersed with its end thread end in advance.
A paint-plastic preparation is particularly advantageous here, which can also be easily controlled in terms of viscosity.
The invention is discussed below with reference to the only purely schematic drawing figure, for example.
Only a fragment of the clamp body 1 is shown, in which a threaded bore 10 is provided, the length of which corresponds to the thickness 11 of the clamp body 1.
The clamping screw 2 is seated in the threaded bore 10, and its end thread 20 is screwed through the threaded bore 10. The section of the clamping screw 2 which has the annular groove 21 is located in the threaded bore. This annular groove 21 separates the end thread 20 from the rest of the screw thread 22, which extends almost as far as the screw head 23, under which an captive spring clamping disk 24 is arranged.
Between the clamping disc 24 and the clamp body surface 12 facing it and the screw head 23, the electrical lines (not shown) that would have to be connected to the connection terminal are clamped when the clamping screw 2 is tightened.
The annular groove 21 has a width 210, which here is the thickness 11
and thus corresponds to the length of the tapped hole. Every thread is missing in the annular groove 21, and the clamping screw 2 has a diameter 211 there which corresponds to the core diameter of the thread of the screw.
Said length 210 may be greater and said diameter 211 may be smaller than is the case here, which would probably also apply in practice. For the sake of simplicity, the borderline cases have been shown here.
A plastic lacquer 3 can be seen in the end thread 20 and in the annular groove 21, which increases the torque required to turn the clamping screw 2 sufficiently that it does not rotate unintentionally. However, this plastic does not noticeably hinder the use of the connection terminal.
The connection terminal can be produced by immersing the clamping screw 2 into a lacquer to a little above its end thread 20 and then screwing it into the position shown, in which the lacquer then dries.
