Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a composite film made of plastic according to the preamble of the first claim.
Plastic films, in particular polyolefins, such as polyethylene, are very widespread. One of the most important areas is the packaging industry. These foils have many favorable properties, among other things that they are stretchable but very strong and insensitive to water and other liquids, so that they can be easily welded by exposure to heat.
In conventional extrusion of plastic films, the finished film usually has a very smooth and shiny surface. For most plastics, in particular poly-olefins, this means that the surface of the film has a very low roughness or very little friction when two films of the same type are rubbed against one another. In certain applications, e.g. In the context of automatic packaging machines, this can be an advantage. In other cases, this low friction or roughness can be a disadvantage. E.g. filled sacks made of polyethylene film stacked on top of each other, so there is a great risk that the stack can collapse, since the friction between the sacks is low. This can lead to serious accidents.
Rauhigkeit aufweist. Attempts have been made to deal with this problem by laminating a plastic film with another film or several such films made of such a material or with such properties in order to increase the surface roughness. So it is e.g. from US Pat. No. 4,045,270, to produce a laminated tube by blow extrusion, in which the main film made of polyethylene is provided on one side or on both sides with a layer of a plastic which has been made porous by an added means for gas generation. When the tube is blown and stretched after extrusion, the porous plastic layer is stretched so that the cells in the material break open. This creates a rough, net-like surface that has a much higher friction or roughness.
Although the plastic film produced in this way has a suitably increased surface roughness and friction, it has the disadvantage that a gas generating agent has to be added. Such agents are not always physiologically acceptable and can make the use of the film impossible for the food industry, where there must be complete security against foreign and harmful influences that can be transferred from the packaging material to the packaged food.
It is the object of the present invention to avoid this disadvantage by creating a plastic film with increased surface roughness that does not contain any foreign additives.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of the first claim.
The extrusion is preferably carried out by blowing a laminated tube through two or more concentric slot nozzles and then inflating and stretching the tube.
Due to this process, the outer layer will break open during stretching and form a rough surface, so that the surface roughness and friction in the finished film is higher.
An embodiment of the method according to the invention is shown in the drawing. There, a cross section of an extrusion head 1 with two annular concentric slot shapes or nozzles 2 and 3 is shown schematically. A plastic 4 plasticized by heat is guided from a conventional extruder, not shown, through the inner mold 3 and extruded to form the tubular film 5. A plastic 6 is fed to the slot mold 2 from an extruder with controlled metering, not shown. Since the amount of plastic 6 added is too small to form a coherent layer when the extruded tube or tube is inflated and stretched by an air bubble 8,
Auf diese Weise entsteht eine rauhe Oberfläche. the outer layer breaks open and local plastic deposits are formed. 7. This creates a rough surface.
After inflation and stretching, the laminated film is further treated in a conventional manner. It can be rolled up as a tube or hose and transported to its destination as a roll.
Of course, it is also possible to use three concentric slot shapes and to control the supply of the plastic to the innermost and outermost shape in the manner shown. The result is an increased surface roughness on both sides of the film.
B. Fasern, die dem Kunststoff schlechtere Fliesseigenschaften The control of the supply of the plastic to the extruder mold or molds to form the layers, which increase the roughness, can be carried out in such a way that the amount added is too small to obtain a coherent layer after stretching, so that the layer breaks up. However, it is also possible to interrupt the supply. This gives the film a clearly marked, rough surface. In addition, fillers such. B. fibers, the plastic poorer flow properties

Solche Füllstoffe sind dem Fachmann bekannt. give and thereby increase the surface roughness of the finished film, are added to the starting material that forms the outer layers. Such fillers are known to the person skilled in the art.
Any thermoplastic material used in conventional film extrusion can be used as the plastic for the film. Polyolefins are particularly suitable, primarily considering the use of polyethylene. The plastic that increases the surface roughness of the layer can correspond to the one that forms the underlying composite film layer. However, this is not absolutely necessary. Other plastics can also be used as long as they can be laminated with the material of this film.
A conventional version is used as the extruder, the setting of which is carried out by the controlled metering, which is determined on the basis of simple preliminary tests.
The extrusion is otherwise carried out in a conventional manner.
The described method has been described with reference to extrusion blow molding of a hose, which is actually a preferred embodiment. However, it should be noted that the benefits of extruding films can also be obtained by straight slit molding and subsequent lamination and stretching. A controlled material supply to the extrusion die or nozzle, which produces the surface layer, also ensures that the surface layer receives an amount of material that is not sufficient to form a coherent layer after stretching. Therefore this layer will break open and result in a rough surface. Here too, roughness can be created on both sides of the film.
The plastic film with a high surface roughness can thus be produced without foreign, expensive and toxic materials. The film material produced can therefore be used safely for packaging food. This creates a technical advantage and also increased security.
