The compounds are added to the bitumen in an amount of 0.1 to 5% by weight, preferably 0.2 to 3% by weight. Since the compounds are soluble in bitumen, they can be mixed in in pure form. However, it is also possible to prepare a stock solution of these compounds and to mix the solution with the bitumen.
Dabei wird der As already indicated, these compounds interfere with the colloidal chemical behavior of the bitumen. The

The peptization state of the micelles forming asphaltenes changed. In terms of application technology, this has the following consequences: With bitumen, which contains an effective amount of the selected compounds, the viscosity temperature behavior is changed. By influencing the micellar structure, homogenization and stabilization is achieved. In addition to theological measurements, this can be also by determining the so-called thread pull length (ductility). These properties are very important for a binder.
If bitumen is used in conjunction with minerals of different grain sizes, e.g. together with grit and stone powder, for road construction, the mixing effort in the production of the mixed material is reduced. The bitumen is distributed more evenly; the wetting of the mineral surface and thus the mechanical adhesion is improved. Here, the term wetting means the uniform covering of the rock. The term should not be confused with the chemisorption on the rock, which causes certain so-called adhesives.
The hot mix shows improved ease of installation and compaction. The viscosity temperature dependency is reduced for mass-like compositions. In practice, this means significantly improved flow and flow properties.
It is known to improve the distribution and wetting of fillers when hot by fluxing bitumen. However, this is paid for by accepting increased plasticization and sometimes even exudation of the fluxes when cold. These disadvantages are avoided in the method according to the invention.
An additional advantage of the method according to the invention can be seen in the colloidal chemical stabilization of thermally overstressed bitumen. Such an overuse can happen in many ways. In modern mixing plants e.g. Bitumen heated to 160 to 180 ° C sprayed onto hot rock. The bitumen is therefore present at high temperature with a large surface area in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. Hereby the oxidation, i.e. Aging, and thus embrittlement accelerated significantly. In addition, silicates or silicate-containing minerals are often used as rocks, which are catalytically active and accelerate chemical reactions in the bitumen. Overall, these aging reactions result in an uncontrollable hardening that often lowers the performance properties of the bitumen. Such aging and thus unintentional embrittlement are prevented by the method according to the invention.
The compounds used in the process according to the invention can be prepared in a manner known per se from easily accessible raw materials.
In the following examples, the properties of commercially available types of bitumen are compared with products obtained according to the method according to the invention. The superior effect of the method according to the invention is particularly evident.

II. Durchführung der rheologischen Messungen (Hystereseverfahren) II. Carrying out the rheological measurements (hysteresis method)
a) Messungen der Bitumenproben a) Measurements of bitumen samples
If the highest shear rate Dmax is reached, the shear stress of the sample is maintained for 240 seconds, the measured value is registered and then the shear rate D is reduced again step by step. In this way, a curve for viscosity with increasing and decreasing shear rate is obtained.
After the rotating body has been brought to the mixing temperature and has the desired shear rate, it is introduced into the mastic sample. The temperature corresponding to the respective viscosity 50 is measured by means of a temperature sensor located 5 mm from the center of the outer surface of the rotating body. At the same time, the viscosity changes are measured, which result from the cooling of the hot mastic mass at an ambient temperature of 20 ° C

Beispiel 2 Example 2
To influence the rheological properties, the following compound was added to the samples during the preparation: a) As bitumen I, a bitumen of type B 80, a penetration number 81 and a softening point, determined using the ring and ball method, of 44 was used. The flow curves were determined at 25 ° C. The measurement was carried out with the bitumen I without additives and with the bitumen which contains 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0% by weight of the abovementioned compound. The resulting shear stress depending on the shear rate and the viscosity calculated from this can be found in Table IV.
As bitumen II, a bitumen of type B 65, a penetration number 57 and a softening point, determined with the ring and ball method, of 51 was used. The character f means measurement with increasing shear rate, the character j means measurement with decreasing shear rate. The shear stress rf and x | or r | f and t) | are to be understood analogously.
Aus den Messergebnissen ergibt sich folgendes: The following results from the measurement results:
The rheological behavior of bitumen is a reflection of its internal properties. It is determined by the reversible structure and breakdown. All disruptive factors coming from outside have an effect on the respective condition. It is therefore possible to obtain statements about the properties, in particular the usage properties, of the bitumen from isothermally recorded flow curves.
The influence of the products A to D used according to the invention on the bitumen I and II depends on the chemical structure of the products, their added amount, the bitumen type, the test temperature and the sample pretreatment.
It should be noted that in some cases additives only slightly change the initial viscosity, but the final viscosity is greatly reduced. In these cases, the additives increase the sensitivity to shear. In other cases, the initial and final viscosity are significantly reduced, which indicates a stabilization of the colloidal chemical state. There are also increases in both the initial and final viscosities. As a result of the many variables that have a determining effect on the properties, it is therefore necessary to carry out a preliminary test to determine how a particular compound affects the rheological properties in order to then select the add-on product for the application-wished purpose that contains the properties the desired direction.

Due to their polar properties, the latter interact with mineral surfaces, which have an orienting effect on the likewise polar asphaltene micelles of the neighboring bitumen phase and are therefore indirectly structure-forming (near-order). This increase in viscosity, the extent of which is determined by the interaction between mineral and bitumen, explains, among other things. the stiffening effect of stone powder as fillers.
The increase in viscosity can also have a negative impact on preparation and processing processes (increased expenditure of energy in the mixing and processing steps).
As can be seen from the cooling curves of mastic, 15 the behavior of hot masses can be influenced in a targeted manner, in particular in the temperature range from 200 ° C. to 100 ° C., by adding the products used according to the invention. The slope of the viscosity temperature curve changes. The effect of liquefaction reduces the bitumen requirement for 20 an easily processable mastic. The pronounced concentration dependence of the effects is remarkable: depending on the amount of the compound used according to the invention, a minimum viscosity can be set, the viscosity being increased at other concentrations of the same substance and the mastic mixture thus stiffening. Here too, when the object according to the invention is used industrially, a preliminary test is to be carried out to determine which concentration of the compound to be added according to the invention gives the optimum desired effect in terms of application technology.
